Shaky Start

Eltheca, Chaser Dormitories, Nighttime

Entering the dormitories, Ensher and Kiizu proceeded across the foyer which was adorned with banners bearing three words. Unfortunately for Kiizu she was unaware of this language to which Ensher gestured to them as if acknowledging this.

"Lua, Basar, Karma"

"Hmm?"

"These are the tenants we uphold here and are the foundation of our organization. Lua is the essence of life among KurtzPel while Basar is the will to persevere through all challenges set against us. Finally, Karma is the catalyst of our powers which channel our innate abilities into the manifestations of our weapons."

Taking this moment to conjure a tome, it opened calmly as it glowed with a violet hue which attracted Kiizu to peer in as runes sifted throughout the pages among the images and symbols that floated to the surface soon after.

"This is my Karma, Legacy Tome. It's still a mysterious karma that I myself still have to study and develop."

Kiizu was frowned at not being able to read the runes but turned back to Ensher seeing her giggle as she leafed through the pages with images appearing before them periodically.

"For the most part, this karma gives me knowledge of the past which is quite useful in our work. While it isn't suited for combat, there is still room for karma to develop overtime."

"So... there could be more?"

"Of course! I can't wait to see what this Kama can also do!"

Kiizu laughed, seeing Ensher's brimming energy as her ears suddenly perked at the sound of footsteps approaching them.

"Ah, is this the rumored guest Ensher?"

"Hmm? Mmurf!"

Quickly turning Kiizu immediately found herself buried in darkness, looking up as the light returned, she saw a face as the soft feeling brushed against her face.

"Well hello there."

"H-Hi..."

"Marian?! What are you doing?!"

Laughing to herself, the busty woman pressed Kiizu into her bosom as her tail waved happily as Ensher could only pout in response to this.

"Oh calm down Ensher, I'm just welcoming the new girl!"

"Mmurf!"

Struggling in her bosom, Kiizu could only pout and pats on Marian lightly as the foxy feline only laughed then releasing her hold on the embarrassed girl in front of her as Ensher caught Kiizu comforting her from this.

"Well, my name is Marian Vendor. I'm in the librarian here in Eltheca, you can call me Maria sweetie okay?"

"O-Ok..."

"Great! Now let's get you all cleaned up; you're coming too right Ensher?"

"W-What?!"

Ensher could only blush at the suggestion as Marian could only grin then quickly appearing behind and pushing them both towards the bathing area.

"Let's go and have a girl's night out!"

"Ehhhhhh!"

Chaser Dormitories, Bathing Room, Nighttime

"Alley-oop!"

"Waah!"

*Splash!*

Out of the steamy clouds Ensher and Kiizu were thrown into the hot spring as a haughty woman stood proudly as if asserting her dominance among them.

"Haha! It's always great to take a bath with friends!"

"Marian!"

Kiizu could only laugh to herself as the two argued though what startled her suddenly was the obvious assets visible through the mist between them. Noticing this Marian smirked as she leaned overlooking Kiizu who only felt embarrassed at this.

"Amazing right? But don't you worry, you have beautiful pillows too!"

"U-Um..."

"I swear you have no shame Marian..."

Tipping her glasses, Ensher could only puff her cheeks as she acknowledged her lack of assets among the group. Entering the bath, Marian noticed this and immediately started towards her as Kiizu looked on puzzled. 

"Oh? Look at this cutie here!"

"Eh?! Marian! Muurf!"

Immediately grabbing Ensher, Marian pressed her into her bosom as the girl flushed red and attempted to separate herself. Unfortunately, all she could do was squirm as the water splashed rapidly with Kiizu giggling to this.

"Well, there's a smile."

"Hmm?"

Releasing Ensher, Marian made her way to Kiizu then resting next to her taking in the atmosphere around them.

It was a quiet evening, as the rushing waters filled the silence as the girls looked up into the night sky noticing the moon revealing itself from the clouds.

"Pretty..."

"Yeah...it's definitely a pleasant moment after a long day of work."

Patting her head, Marian calmly smiled as she arose from the bath as Kiizu could see her she could only marvel at her figure only to blush immediately looking away.

"Welcome to The Chase Kiizu, I hope you'll have a wonderful time here."

"Thank you, Maria..."

Kiizu smiled as they finished, being led to her room Marian left partway towards hers as Ensher gestured to an empty room.

"You'll be living here for the time being. Usually, new Chasers would already be assigned to their teams so you can look forward to meeting your roommates tomorrow alright?"

"Y-Yes."

"Right then, have a good evening Kiizu. Oh, and you new clothes are in the dresser as well as another set of clothes."

As Ensher left, the door closed behind Kiizu as she looked at the room. It was well designed for this place. The crafted wooden frames glowed in the moonlight from the open window as a soft breeze entered.

Nearing the bedside, Kiizu looked outside at the moon and smiled reflecting over what had happened. However, her ears drooped as tears came to her eyes as the images of her loved ones burned into her mind once more.

"Mother...Father...Brother...Saria-chan..."

Kiizu's face soon streaked with tears as could merely kneel by the bedside and bury her face on the covers. Shortly after starting she felt a hand touch her head lightly rubbing.

"W-Who?..."

Looking up with her eyes filled with tears she saw a figure sitting beside her. Distraught with her emotions she dove into the figure's lap and continues to cry.

"Aaaaa....Aaaaa!"

"..."

Rubbing her head, Kien could only sigh seeing her in this state. He was aware of this possibility which was why he decided to visit her and much to his expectation the memories of her village soon crept up.

'Stubborn girl, trying to look tough...'

Brushing her hair he could feel her trembling as she clutched his robes to which he reluctantly began to rub her back as her shaking figure soon soften as the sobbing turned to her softly sleeping. Seeing she was resting he moved to take her hands off of him only to feel her tug on him once more.

"D-Don't leave me..."

"Hmm?"

Crossing his arms, he could only smirk lightly as he noticed a smile forming on her face as if having a pleasant dream. Turning to the window, he basked in the moonlight shining on them.

'This'll be a long night...'
