Chapter 5:

Initiation

My Mentor is A Jerk But I Love Him?!

Eltheca Dormitories, Morning

Kiizu mumbled slowly waking up to the sounds of people running down the corridors as she found herself in her covers in her pajamas with her hair rustled, she could only rub her eyes as a voice was heard.

"Good Morning Chasers! Today's the official initiation ceremony for new recruits. Please go to your assigned fields to await further instruction with your leaders."

Tumbling out of bed, Kiizu then realized that she didn't exactly have a leader assigned. However, as she looked outside the window she saw a note on the dresser by her bedside.

"This is..."

Picking up the letter, she noticed it had her name on it though the handwriting was readable she felt a sense of familiarity to it.

'Training Grounds #7'

Kiizu giggled to herself realizing this type of message, it was Kien who had written this letter as she then looked outside once more with a gentle smile remembering what he did for her last night then clenching a fist she resolved herself to go.

After dressing herself in the new clothes provided, she looked at herself in the mirror, the outfit was quite standard in appearance. Parting her hair from the jacket, the hoodie complimented her look as the shirt underneath formed nicely though her pants formed a little too tight for her liking but after slipping on her boots and gloves she clenched a fist looking at herself once more with a smile.

"Kiizu? Are you up?"

"Hmm?"

The door opened as Ensher softly entered looking at Kiizu in her new outfit and smiled calmly. Walking up to her she held her tome to her chest and spoke.

"Are you ready for today?"

"I think so..."

"Well, we had better get going. A certain someone doesn't appreciate tardiness."

Taking her hand, Ensher tugged on Kiizu out into the chaotic hall full of people rushing out the door whether by teleportation, dashing, jumping, and even flying flocks of people were on their way to their assigned areas.

"Come on Kiizu!"

"W-Wait Ensher!"

Ensher happily pulled on Kiizu's hand as they ran towards the open courtyard where the teleporter spun endlessly leaving an impression of mystery to the rising number of people looking towards it.

"Chasers! My name is Ethan Soulguard, I will be leading the first two teams for 1 and 2. Those who are in please step forward into the teleporter!"

As he walked into the teleporter, other people soon followed as they were whisked away to the unknown which was dazzling to Kiizu's eyes.

"How does that work Ensher?"

"I wish I could tell you, but it simply does what we need it to do. Almost like, as if it knows what we ask of it."

"So, it's alive?"

"I wouldn't say that, but who knows."

As the announcements commenced Kiizu simply looked around as chasers stood by around awaiting their call. Some were chatting among themselves, whilst others sat or stood calmly watching their fellow chasers.

'I wonder where Kien is...'

*Bump!*

"Eh?!"

"Ara?"

Suddenly falling on her bottom Kiizu looked up as a familiar face smiled back at her then gracefully reaching down with a hand as the figure's tail perked up at the sight of her.

"Good morning!"

"G-Good morning...Uurf!"

Lifting her up, the fox pulled her into her chest lovingly as her ears were soon being rubbed by the feline.

"Aww, I didn't think I would see you so soon! Are you going for your test today?"

*muffled sounds*

"Oh Marian please...leave the poor girl alone she can't even speak."

Tipping her glasses Ensher calmly walked to Marian as the other chasers laughed at the sudden spectacle. Marian pouted but then let Kiizu go as she crossed her arms going into a stance that complimented her figure.

*gasp!*

"Are you alright Kiizu?"

Blushing fiercely Kiizu turned to Marian who only resorted to expressing her love once more by making a heart shape emitting a brief light of pink then blowing a kiss as the audience cheered for the voluptuous beauty in their sight who only further expressed her charm with her rather form fitting sweater.

'I wanna go home...'

"Team 7, with me."

They suddenly stopped cheering as the voice although silent caught their attention as a young man appeared out of nowhere in front of them. Taking a moment to look at what was happening he scoffed and began walking into the teleporter shortly disappearing afterwards.

"Dammit! Of all people!"

"We gotta get moving or we're doomed!"

People soon began running towards the teleporter as their leader had already left them as Kiizu's heart leapt taking in that moment as his eyes locked with hers. She could only blush where she stood as she felt a tap on her cheek which set her ears twitching in response.

"Well, someone's in love!"

"E-Eh?!"

"I mean it's written on your face after all."

Marian soon grinning then pinching Kiizu's cheek with Ensher calmly adjusting her glasses responded kindly. Taking this moment to walk towards the teleporter as they were the last ones present Kiizu could only begin to daydream as the other two simply giggled then lightly tapping her out of it.

"I want to hear juicy details Kiizu okay?!"

"Do your best Kiizu!"

With a simple wink and a gesture of confidence, Kiizu could only laugh at their responses despite blushing once more as she jumped down onto the teleporter then looking up with her ears perked happily as the rush of energy surged onto her then whisking her away with the flash of azure.

After emerging from the beam of light, Kiizu looked around confused at not being able to see anyone else with her though noticed a few other people in the distance all startled by this change of scenery. The area was deserted, barren of life and the forest only served to cover any sort of vision from where she stood.

'Did I get lost?'

Taking this moment to climb the broken building, her tail ruffled among the cool breeze then seeing that the area she was in was an island. The view was beautiful, but she had to reach the cliff to get a better view of it.

"Listen up! Your objective is to reach the clifftop though you will only have yourselves to use to get there. You have one hour before the victors enjoy a day a of rest while the rest of you lot will survive on this island for the evening. Do not disappoint me."

Kiizu suddenly heard the rustling of the forest from behind her as a number of people began making their way towards the cliff. She soon started to get down but heard a number of cries as where used to be people were trap pits that had them detained.

"T-Traps?!"

"What the hell is this?!"

"I wanna go home!"

The cries of their suffering was heard as Kiizu looked back towards the cliff top then dropped down to the base of the building as she noticed a faint glimmer where after uncovering some rubble was a partially sheathed short sword as her ears twitched lightly at the sight of it.

'If...this is real...then I need this!'

Taking the blade, she slung it over her shoulder the strap clasping onto her breast for support as she looked onto the path with determination.

"I... will not lose!"
