A True Beginning: Sasha

Author’s Note: While this one-shot covers events that happened before Chapter 1 of BTS, it does have spoilers for later events and therefore should not be read until later. Part of Sasha’s origin story was already covered in Chapter 495. This one-shot will cover Sasha’s origin which happened after what was shown in that chapter.

Narrator: Before we turn the page forward and look towards the future of BTS, let’s turn the page back and look back to before the beginning. This is Sasha’s origin story. Let us begin right after Sasha’s dark powers were locked in her heart and she was taken to Earth. The playful 4-year-old Sasha had fallen into a river.

*Sasha is flowing down the river and she tries her best to swim but she can’t*

Sasha: I can’t swim! Someone help!

*Sasha continues to struggle until everything goes black*

Narrator: Later.

*An unconscious Sasha washes up on the ground next to the river. A man and a woman are walking by. The man has short brown hair as well as a bushy mustache. The woman has upper back-length brown hair. Both of them are wearing casual clothes and seem like they are in their 20s*

Narrator: Maria Bara – Age 26. Louis Bara – Age 27.

*Maria and Louis see the unconscious Sasha. They look concerned as they run up to her*

Maria: I hope this little girl is okay!

*Maria checks her heartbeat*

Maria: She’s still alive but she’s soaked. We need to get her some towels.

Louis: Let’s hurry then.

***

Narrator: Later.

*Sasha starts to open her eyes*

Maria: She’s waking up!

Louis: That’s great news!

*Sasha is wrapped in towels*

Sasha: Where am I? Who are you?

Maria: My name is Maria Bara and he is Louis Bara. We found you unconscious by a river and wanted to help you. What is your name?

Sasha: My name is Sasha.

Louis: So, who are your parents? We’d like to get you back to your family as soon as possible.

Sasha: Uh… I don’t really know. Everything about my memory seems fuzzy. I’m not even that sure of my age. I think… I’m 4 years old. I think… I will be turning 5 soon.

Maria: I see.

Louis: Amnesia?

Maria: How about this? We will take you in and hopefully, you will remember soon.

Sasha: Okay.

Maria: Welcome to our family, Sasha.

*Maria hugs Sasha. Sasha seems surprised but then she smiles and hugs back*

Narrator: From then on, Sasha was a happy girl. She grew up with loving stepparents. Her memories did not come back so she stayed with them and enrolled in the schools in the area.

*Sasha is sitting in an elementary school classroom*

Narrator: Sasha – Age 8.

*Sasha looks over at the boy next to her*

Sasha: Can I borrow your eraser?

*The boy looks over toward her and directly into her eyes. He then looks nervous*

Boy: S-sure.

*The boy shakenly hands the eraser to her*

Sasha: Why do you look scared?

Boy: It just looks like there is something terrifying behind your eyes.

Sasha: What?

Boy: It’s like there is some monstrous demon lord in your eyes.

*Sasha looks shocked*

Sasha: Huh!?

Boy: N-never mind. Just give my eraser back when you are done.

*Sasha looks concerned as she starts erasing something on her paper.

Narrator: A couple of years later.

*Sasha is lying in bed and sleeping*

Narrator: Sasha – Age 10.

*She suddenly finds herself in the outdoor section of a medieval-looking castle*

Sasha: Where am I?

*Sasha starts walking through the castle. She opens a door and goes through where she finds herself on a balcony. She looks out from the balcony and sees nothing but a hellscape with rotting corpses and skeletons everywhere. The sky is red*

*Sasha looks shocked*

Sasha: What is this!?

???: It’s your heart.

Sasha: Huh!?

*Sasha turns around to see a version of herself with Dark Divine Eyes and in True Demonic Release form*

Demon Sasha: The life you’ve been living is not your true life. Take this place into yourself and relish it!

Sasha: You look just like me!?

Demon Sasha: That’s right. Now get down there and bask in this hellscape!

*Demon Sasha pushes Sasha off the balcony*

Sasha: Aaahhhhh!!

*Sasha suddenly wakes up from her sleep and sits up feeling terrified. She is breathing heavily and sweating*

Sasha: It was just a nightmare… But it was so scary…

*Sasha grabs her water bottle and drinks from it*

Sasha: I’m going back to sleep.

Narrator: Five more years pass.

*Sasha is in her room, looking at a mirror to see how she looks her in clothes. She’s wearing a red shirt and blue jeans*

Narrator: Sasha – Age 15.

Sasha: I’m starting high school so I better make sure I look good.

*Sasha leaves her room. Maria and Louis are waiting for her*

Narrator: Maria Bara – Age 37. Louis Bara – Age 38.

Maria: You’re starting high school. Are you excited?

Sasha: Of course.

Louis: Make some good friends. Preferably those that are true followers of the Light Goddess.

Sasha: I will try, Dad.

*Sasha grabs her stuff*

Sasha: All right, I’m off!

Maria: Have a great first day!

*Sasha leaves the house and is on her way to school*

Sasha: I wonder what high school will have in store for me.

*She looks up at the sky as she walks*

Narrator: Two more years pass. It is June 7th, Year 118.

*Sasha rushes into her room. She is angry and yells*

Narrator: Sasha – Age 17.

Sasha: Why not!? Why can’t I go to a party like other people my age!?

*She hears her stepparents arguing back*

Maria: Because teens who go to those parties are a bad influence!

Louis: They definitely would not be true followers of the Light Goddess!

*Sasha looks so frustrated*

*Maria and Louis come to the entrance of her room*

Narrator: Maria – Age 39. Louis – Age 40.

*Sasha is turned around so they are looking at her from behind*

Sasha: I don’t get it… They are normal kids just like me…

Maria: Normal kids aren’t delinquents like those that go to those parties. Louis: Yeah, don’t become a delinquent.

*Sasha turns her head around with an angry expression but her eyes have also become Dark Divine Eyes*

Sasha: This is so stupid!

*Maria and Louis go from being angry to having a lot of fear as their eyes open wide*

Maria: You…!!

Louis: It can’t be!!

Maria: You are the devil’s spawn!

*Sasha’s anger turns into confusion and her Dark Divine Eyes go back to being normal human eyes*

Sasha: Huh? What?

Louis: You can’t trick us anymore! Get out, you devil spawn!!

Sasha: What’s going on!?

Louis: I said out!!!

*Sasha runs past them and out of the room. She runs out the front door and keeps running*

*Maria and Louis stand at the entrance of their house*

Louis: Don’t ever come back!!

Maria: The Light Goddess will find you and execute you!!

*Sasha is terrified as she runs*

Sasha: What got into them!? A parent-child fight shouldn’t turn into that!

*Sasha runs out of the urban area and into the wilderness. She then trips on a rock and rolls down a hill. After coming to a stop at the bottom of the hill, she is lying front forward on the ground*

*In Sasha’s first-person perspective, her eyes start to close. As her vision gets blurry, she sees a few hungry wolves walking toward her*

Sasha: So this is how it ends…

*Sasha is now unconscious and the wolves are drooling as they walk toward her. One of the wolves lunges toward her. The wolf is suddenly grabbed by the neck and stopped as it gets close to her*

Sasha: You must be very unlucky that you so happened to find me to try to snack on.

*Sasha opens her eyes and her eyes are Dark Divine Eyes. Her arms glow with a red aura and she stands up while still having the wolf grabbed by the neck. The wolf struggles*

*Sasha smiles sadistically*

Sasha: You are mere toothless puppies compared to me.

*Sasha tosses the wolf back to the other two wolves*

Sasha: I suggest you leave or I will have to kill you. For when I’m unconscious, my true power comes out.

*The three wolves are not deterred and angrily growl at her*

Sasha: So be it. Come at me.

*The angry wolves start rushing toward Sasha*

Sasha: Torturing animals isn’t fun so I will make this quick.

*The three wolves lunge at her. Sasha dodges two of them before she grabs the third by the neck and snaps it which kills the wolf instantly*

*She drops the dead wolf*

Sasha: Next.

*As one of the remaining wolves lunges at her, she grabs it by its jaw and snaps it. She then slams the wolf down on the ground to finish it*

*There is one last wolf left*

Sasha: I want to see how you would do against one of my Hellhounds.

*Sasha summons one Hellhound*

Sasha: Ravage it, my Hellhound!

*The Hellhound and the wolf lunge toward each other but the Hellhound easily overpowers it and bites down on its neck to kill it*

*Sasha summons a couple more Hellhounds*

Sasha: You can feast on them.

*Sasha sits against a tree as her Hellhounds feast on the dead wolves*

Sasha: And so once again, I had to come out and save my weak mortal side just like back at that river 13 years ago. So where do I go now? My stepparents don’t want me anymore and as far as I’m concerned, my birth mother, the Dark Goddess, is dead to me. As sadistic as I am, even I don’t want to be alone. I want to find people that I can really like…

*Sasha’s eyes start to close*

Sasha: I guess my mortal side is going to regain consciousness soon…

*She falls asleep*

*Soon after, Sasha wakes up and her eyes are back to normal human eyes. She sees what remains of the dead wolves*

Sasha: What happened? Who killed these wolves? This looks gruesome… I should leave.

*Sasha walks away from the area. She walks farther into the wilderness. She looks at her arms and they are glowing a red aura all of a sudden. She is shocked when sees the glowing red aura*

Sasha: What’s with my arms!?

*The red aura then fades away*

Sasha: It vanished?

*Sasha collapses onto her knees*

Sasha: Where am I even going? I have no home now.

*Sasha starts crying and looks up at the sky*

Sasha: Someone, please help me!

Narrator: And so, for the next few days, the girl with no home kept walking in the wilderness. She was alone and didn’t get much to eat.

*Sasha continues to look hopeless as she goes through various places in the forest*

Narrator: And so, after three days, it is June 10th, Year 118.

*Sasha looks exhausted. She sits against a tree and starts crying*

Sasha: It’s hopeless. I’m going to die out here alone!

*She continues crying*

*Soon after, some other people enter the area. They are Zeth, Kurt, Emily, and Joe. They see her and go up to her*

*She looks up with tears flowing down her face*

Zeth: Hey, are you all right?

Joe: What’s your name?

Sasha: My name is Sasha and I’m not all right. *sniff*

Emily: What’s wrong? Why are you out here by yourself?

Sasha: Just a few days ago, my adoptive parents and I got into a typical parent-child argument.

*Sasha’s flashbacks to her argument with her stepparents*

Sasha: But then everything went wrong. Suddenly, for no reason, their anger turned to fear.

*Sasha’s parents have an extremely terrified look on their faces in the flashback*

Sasha: They called me the devil’s spawn and told me to get out of the house and never come back. They said the Light Goddess would find me and execute me!

*More tears flow down Sasha’s face*

Sasha: I don’t think I have ever been so hurt!

Zeth: Sounds like cruddy parents to me.

*Zeth holds out his hand for her*

Zeth: You should come with us.

Sasha: Do you really mean it?

Zeth: Yep, I’m not just gonna leave someone in need to suffer. Especially when you have no home to go back to.

Sasha: *sniff* Thank you, thank you!

*Sasha grabs onto Zeth’s hand to help herself stand up. She continues to hold on to his hand and looks at him in awe*

Narrator: And so, after a few days in the wilderness, Sasha finally found the light she was looking for. Their destined crossing finally happened that day.
