Chapter 583:
Beyond The Stars
AS A MAJOR NOTE: This continuation does not immediately pick up from the end of the final chapter of the first BTS story. Instead, the continuation starts off right after the end of the war in Chapter 571. The reason for this is because doing this is critical for the set up of the continuation. In fact, one of the continuation's arcs was teased in Chapter 573 and talked about like it already happened by that point (Because it did. lol). I will continue to mention that this story is fully planned out so the payoff will be worth it. Sometimes I think about the stuff that's going to happen but I haven't written yet and it just gives me more motivation to start writing again.
Anyway, I once again recommend reading the Zeth and Sasha origin story one-shots before starting to read the continuation.
Chapter 575: Looking to the Future
*There is a nice blue sky with the sun shining bright. A butterfly is flying up in the direction of the sun. Some words echo. “I wish I could be free. Free from my sorrows. I want to be like a butterfly and fly up toward the sun in the sky and fly far away from this land.”

Narrator: Somewhere in an unknown town at an unknown time.
*Amongst all the townsfolk, the focus is on an elderly couple. The man is balding on top but otherwise has gray hair. He is walking with a cane. His iris color is green. The woman has gray shoulder-length hair. Her iris color is red. She is able to walk fine without a cane*
Old Man: We are too old to be doing these kinds of tasks. Why do we have to do this?
Old Woman: Quit complaining. This is something we have to do. They are counting on us.
Old Man: Okay, okay. I get it.
*They keep walking. As they continue walking, a large yellow stone pyramid comes into view in the distance*
Old Woman: And there it is.
*They walk up to the viewing platform and just stare at the pyramid in the distance*
Old Man: Alright, Sasha, what do we do now?
Old Woman: We have to go inside it. Think you can do that, Zeth?
*The old man then smirks*
Old Man: Of course, I can. What about you, Sasha?
*The old woman smirks*
Old Woman: Do you even have to ask? Let’s do this.

Narrator: We now return to right after Zeth and Sasha defeated the Dark Goddess. This takes place immediately after Chapter 571.
*Zeth, Sasha, Kurt, Emily, Joe, Keith, Harmona, and Diamond are walking through the ruins of Reign City as the allied forces relish in their victory over Hell. Emily is holding Sasha’s baby brother. Diamond holds the baby chick, Sonzen*
Harmona: It’s surreal. I can’t believe the war is finally over. All I’ve ever known was worrying about the threat that Hell presented.
Zeth: We can finally get some rest.
Sasha: And we finally have a future we can look forward to.
Joe: I’m thinking of settling down… becoming a technologist.
Keith: A technologist?
Joe: Yeah, technology is something I’ve been interested in but let’s just say world events put a halt to that.
Emily: Well, as your wife, I will support you. So go get it!
*Emily nods and smiles at Joe*
*Zeth then looks at Kurt who seems happy but also down*
Zeth: What about you, Kurt?
Kurt: Oh me?
*Kurt thinks about Easia who sacrificed herself to save him*
Kurt: I’ve got some wounds to heal… I can’t really think about that far ahead at the moment…
*Zeth looks sympathetic*
Zeth: It’s okay. I understand.
Harmona: We should meet up with the medical unit. We all have major wounds… and I need to see how Zaydra and Zenfaro are doing…
*Zeth has a flashback to the major injuries Zaydra and Zenfaro suffered from an attack by Armageddon and then looks sad*
Zeth: I hope they are okay. We are all going to be doing a lot of mourning now that the battle is over.
*They get back to the medical unit that set up outside of Reign City where many tents were set up. The wounded are being tended to and the dead are being gathered*
*Harmona, Zeth, and Sasha meet with some angel doctors*
Harmona: How are Zaydra and Zenfaro doing?
Male Angel Doctor: Well, I can say that as long as they continue getting medical treatment, they will survive. Zenfaro’s leg is gone for good and he will either need to be in a wheelchair or given a prosthetic leg.
*Harmona looks nervous*
Harmona: Zenfaro… I’m so sorry…!
*Harmona grits her teeth in her nervousness*
Doctor: As for Zaydra, her right eye is damaged beyond repair and the rest of it will need to be surgically removed.
*Zeth has a look of terror on his face*
Zeth: Wait, what do you mean by “the rest of it”?
Doctor: The eye wasn’t fully intact. Only parts of it were still there.
*Harmona and Zeth look sad*
Zeth: It hurts that I couldn’t fully protect those closest to me.
*Sasha puts her hand on Zeth’s shoulder*
Sasha: It’s okay. We saved as many people as we could. We all fought knowing we might not survive.
*Zeth looks back at Sasha*
Zeth: Sasha…
*Zeth smiles*
Zeth: You’re right. I’m sure that when they wake up again, they will be thrilled to see that we’ve won the war.
Harmona: That’s a good way to look at it. For those that didn’t make it, we will remember their sacrifices. We will never forget them!
Doctor: All right, all of you need to get patched up too. Your wounds look serious.

Narrator: All everyone could do at this point was focus on healing their injuries, whether that be physical or mental.
*All of the heroes have their injuries tended to throughout the medical camp*
*Zeth in particular sits on a bed in one of the tents and looks at his bandage-wrapped arm. He has bandages on many other parts of his body too*
Zeth: Damn, now that all of the adrenaline from fighting in the war has worn off, I’m super sore. Thankfully, we shouldn’t have to deal with any more almighty foes. I hope so anyway.
*The male angel doctor tending to him laughs before speaking*
Male Angel Doctor: I don’t think you will have to worry about that! With Dakame and Zenos gone, there is no one associated with Earth or its dimensions that could pose this much of a threat.
Zeth: But beyond Earth…
*Zeth has a flashback to what Korobu told him during the war.
(Flashback) Korobu: Abyss Magic is something that originated with the Abyss Deity, or as I also call him, the progenitor. That deity was one that was executed for committing unforgivable crimes in the Divine World. But when he was executed, something unexpected happened. He became an abyss himself. The Abyss Deity became a larger threat and was sealed away. But a small part of himself avoided the sealing and found its way to mortal lands where it fused into a mortal’s genetic makeup. Once every couple thousand years, a child with Abyss Magic would be born. I’m over 50,000 years old and the most recent one to be born with Abyss Magic. (End Flashback)
Zeth: What if someone from the Divine World invaded…?
Male Angel Doctor: Ha! That would never happen! Part of the Divine World’s agreement to not interfere with the affairs of the offspring worlds is to also stop anyone from the Divine World from trying to seize control of the offspring worlds.
Zeth: (Thinking) If the Abyss Deity had to be sealed away in order to be stopped, could anyone actually defeat him if he was ever unsealed?
***
Narrator: A few days later.
*Zeth and Sasha arrive in the city of Kunasha. They still have bandages on them*
*Jack runs up to Zeth and hugs him*
Jack: I’m so glad you’re still alive!
Zeth: It’s okay, Dad. Now that the war is over, peace has returned.
*Zeth smiles*
Zeth: I’m here for good.
*Sasha is watching them interact and sees how happy they are. She then thinks about her own stepparents, Maria Bara and Louis Bara*
Sasha: I wonder…
*Sasha looks sad and puts her hand on her chest and takes a deep breath*
Narrator: With the war over, the heroes are looking toward their futures. However, something appears to be bothering Sasha.
