Volume 3- Analysis 

Now, the most important thing to know here is how the world works: America is divided into six districts, which are further divided into their own sub divisions. This is because of a massive pandemic from nineteen years ago. A lot of people died and the ones who were left live in these six districts now.

Every district has two divisions, the residential area and the commercial area, which has all of the stores and all the related shops and all. The residential area is divided into two parts: the young residency, where the girls live and the guardian residency, where the parents live. The young residency is not that distant from the guardian residency. It's just a thirty minute walk from the young residency to the guardian residency. 

The guardian residency's richest family is the Verlice family. This family helped the country a lot during the time of the pandemic and therefore are known as the richest family of the fourth district, the richest district in the US. 

The commercial area is far away from where Tina and the girls live. The police station and all the other major government offices are there too, so this shows that every district is extremely big. All of these six districts are the fifty states of the US combined together. Each district is approximately made up of six states, leaving fourteen vacant states behind which are under the government and are said to be military training grounds. 

The fact that the girls are sent to fend for themselves dates back to the pandemic's history. A poor girl from China had discovered an eel in the sea and had thought of cooking it. When she and her father ate it, they thought that it was really yummy and soon the whole village caught those eels and had a feast. In the morning, they were found dead. Soon the news spread like wildfire and the paramedics who went to investigate the village brought the disease with them back to the capital. This is how it all begun and in one year it destroyed half  the world. 

People blamed the late young girl for all of it and then it became a rule for young girls to go and live on their own.

Each girl, at the age of fourteen leaves home for the young residency. The ones that deny and don't leave, are killed alongside their family for not obeying the government. 

The laws here are very twisted. You can only work when you're fifteen and get a lawyer. You can only get your identity card made when you're fifteen. You can only go visit your parents when you turn fifteen. But you can get married when you turn thirteen. This is due to the low birth rate all over the world. The final age for marriage is twenty-five.

Drugs are a really widespread business in every district. A lot of young people here are victims of drugs. There are said to be only one hundred and one senior citizens left in the US along with a large number of young people, including Tina and the others. People are said to become "Young" at the age of fourteen. Infants are found here too.

The government cares only about the people who care about the government. If you listen to the government, they will listen to you. But they don't care about your health or what line of work you are in. If it means that you follow the laws and do something that helps the economy, you're good to go. 

The commercial area has a really big pre-school, elementary, middle and high school. The children from all the district study there. They graduate high school at thirteen. 

The districts allow traveling to the other districts but the other fourteen states are not to be visited by the local people because that is what the government says.
