Chapter 19:

Behind Closed Doors: The Pivotal Meeting and a Clandestine Plan

Fangs and Facades

Akira, the student council president stopped the girls as they were entering entrance hall and motioned for them to follow her.

"We have a lot to discuss," she said. "I'm sorry for the short notice, but the student council and administration wanted to meet with you right away."

Yuna, Saori, and Mika sat across from the stern-faced administration and student council members. The room was tense with anticipation as they waited for the meeting to begin.

"Thank you for joining us today," the school principal began. "We are all concerned about the recent attacks and want to ensure the safety of our students."

"Agreed," the superintendent chimed in. "But let's be clear, we don't believe in supernatural nonsense. We are dealing with a criminal element and we will handle it as such."

Yuna could feel her anxiety growing as the conversation continued. She knew that the superintendent's dismissal of the supernatural could make things more difficult for them.

"I understand your skepticism," Saori said calmly. "But I have a unique perspective on the matter. My family has a long history of dealing with the supernatural."

The superintendent raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

"My mother is a brilliant geneticist and has conducted extensive research on the genetic makeup of supernatural creatures," Saori explained. "I believe that we are dealing with something far beyond what traditional law enforcement can handle."

The room fell silent as the superintendent considered Saori's words.

"And what do you suggest we do?" the principal asked.

"We need to develop a plan that takes into account the possibility of a supernatural element," Saori said. "We need to consider things like silver weapons and holy water."

Mika and Yuna exchanged a worried glance, unsure of how the administration and student council would react to such a suggestion.

The student council president spoke up. "I agree with Saori. We need to be prepared for anything. I suggest we institute a strict curfew and a reporting system for suspicious behavior. We can also have police officers patrol the school grounds at night."

The administration members looked at each other, considering the suggestion.

"Very well," the superintendent said finally. "We will take these suggestions into account and develop a plan to keep our students safe. Thank you all for coming."

As the meeting concluded, Yuna couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled in her stomach. She knew that the supernatural threat was real, but with the superintendent's skepticism, it seemed that their hands were tied.

"I don't like this," Mika whispered to her twin as they walked out of the meeting room. "We need to do something."

Yuna nodded in agreement. "But what can we do? We can't just go around telling everyone about the supernatural. They won't believe us."

Saori chimed in. "We can start by investigating the attacks ourselves. Maybe we can find something that will convince the administration."

"But we have to be careful," Yuna warned. "We don't want to get caught or put ourselves in danger."

Saori rolled her eyes. "Don't worry, Yuna. I've been doing this for a long time. I know how to be discreet."

As they walked away from the meeting, the three girls began to hatch a plan to investigate the supernatural threat themselves. They were determined to find a way to keep the student body safe, even if it meant going against the wishes of the administration.
