Shadow wolf general

Alden perambulated through the forest, killing more wolves as he moved. He utilized a different technique this time around, he would instruct his puppet to attack from an angle and that would make the movement of the wolf more predictable. He would wait until the wolf leaped into midair before making his other puppet attack, quickly immobilizing the wolf.

"I didn't think of this before but let me check this out," Thought Alden to himself. He noticed the immense strength of his puppets and checked their stats. They seemed pretty strong so he decided to see. Their stats showed over their heads and Alden read through it.

AGILITY: 4

STRENGTH: 14

DURABILITY: 20

ENERGY: 4

STAMINA: 20

"Pretty good, I'm currently at level 3, so they have leveled up with me. I have some points from leveling up so I should distribute those." Thought Alden. He had acquired 5 points every time he leveled up so he decided to distribute those. He wasn't worried about further attacks as he had his puppets to protect him. Furthermore, he wanted to eliminate the boss so he needed to increase his stats before facing the boss. After Alden distributed all of his points, this was what his stats looked like:

DURABILITY: 8

STAMINA: 8

The statistics appeared much better than before and Alden was pleased. The next 10 points he got would be shared between agility and strength, 2 very important aspects of hand-to-hand combat.

Alden felt happy since killing the shadow wolves was pretty easy. For animals as simple-minded as this, Alden could make one plan and use the same plan against every wolf he faced. Other monster species were more intelligent, like elves, orcs, or vampires but even then, Alden was sure that there was some habit shared in that species which he could manipulate. Using those habits together with his strengths, he could plan against any species.

Alden continued to move and gather EXP. before he finally met a stronger opponent. A general-level wolf. Alden checked the abilities of the wolf and this is what he saw:

Alden observed the wolf and wondered how to fight it. "Let's try the usual." he thought to himself.

A single puppet charged at the wolf from an angle, causing it to leap in the opposite direction, Alden sent the other puppet after the wolf but before the puppet even reached the wolf, it had already landed.

"Damn it!" Cursed Alden as the wolf avoided his second puppet's attack and charged toward him. It leaped towards him, its fangs ready to sink into his flesh. It was fast, much too fast for his puppets. He needed a new solution, and quick.

Alden activated "GLITCH" and disappeared into thin air. The shadow wolf was just about to land its attack which would have definitely killed or severely injured Alden. Alden had teleported to the safety of his puppets. Alden could have tried to help but the problem was that his physical stats were low and thus he wouldn't be able to inflict much damage without using a lot of energy. If he used too much energy, he'd be unable to take on the boss.

"Let me try this," Alden said as he raised his hands toward the wolf. He would try the same plan, but a more advanced version. This time he sent in 2 puppets and made sure to cover three-quarters of the space while allowing a small gap on the right. When the puppets neared, the puppet to the furthest left attacked first, and the 2nd puppet stayed about a meter back.

The puppet caused the wolf to jump back a little until its back was against a tree. It was then that the 2nd puppet attacked the wolf general. The wolf now tried to escape through the space Alden had left open on the right-hand side, but what it didn't know was that when the 2nd puppet had attacked, Alden had already made the 1st puppet move towards the space on the right. He timed the movement perfectly so that when the wolf had just leaped out of the space, the 1st puppet was already attacking the space in which the wolf would arrive.

The puppet used its fists as clubs, hitting the wolf in the back and sending it crashing onto the ground, both puppets began to launch an assault of attacks on the wolf, killing it in about 5 or 6 strikes.

"Finally," Alden panted, relieved at his wins. He had just used the large round trees as barriers to limit the path of escape of the wolf before tricking the wolf into taking his bait. It was then that he could place it in a position where his puppet could hit the wolf without it escaping. "I can use this plan but the problem is that I might not always be in a position where I can use this plan since this plan is much more reliant on having some boundary preventing the wolf from moving back. I need a weapon to defend myself with, a stick or anything."

Alden searched for some weapon since he needed something to defend himself with.

He found a stick that was a little more than a meter long. It was brown and had a smooth surface, and the moment he picked it up, a notification came from the system.

"Not bad!" Alden said as a wide, happy smile spread over his face.
