My Friends

I gathered my courage and walked toward them.

"Hello guys! I hope you were not waiting for long."

I greeted them putting an apologetic smile. The meeting point was a park near the bus station, from there we would be taking a bus and arrive at the mall. We were to meet here at 10 o'clock sharp and I was minutes late. As I walked towards them I saw them looking at me. They were sitting on a bench.

"Sakura! Good morning." Aoi greeted me, following Yui who was seated beside her.

"Hello, we just arrived ten minutes ago."

Aoi Tachibana and Yui Tatsouka are both my friends and one of the people I cherish. Both of them are beautiful. Aoi is a sweet and innocent girl. She is kind and gentle.

Aoi, in a beautiful pink long dress came forward and gave me a hug. Her waist length black hair falling on my shoulder. Her round golden eyes shining in the sun.

Then Yui gives a dominating aura around her. She was dressed in a white shirt and blue pants. Her raven curly long hair tied in a loose bun.

“Are you okay? You rushed here in a hurry, didn't you?" Yui asked, a hint of worry in her dark blue eyes.

"No, I am alright."

“Humph!" Came a voice from somewhere.

…Ah no, it was from Maya. I took a deep breath and walked towards her.

"Umm...I'm sorry Maya. I was a bit late."

"You are fifteen minutes late." Maya said while checking her watch.

"Yes, fifteen minutes, I am sorry. I won't do that again."

Maya narrowed her eyes, her large emerald eyes turning into beautiful slits.

"C’mon Maya, just let it be." Yui interjected followed by Aoi.

"Yes, just forgive her."

After a moment Maya said to me.

"Give me a valid reason for being late and I'll forgive you."

<A valid reason. What can be more valid.> I thought.

“I forgot."

There was a moment of silence. Maya wore a blank look.

"You forgot?"

"Yes, I forgot."

< did I say something wrong? >

Maya looked at Yui and Aoi.

< Why are they behaving like this. >

"Umm... did I say something wrong?"

"No... We were kind of expecting that from you." Yui sighed.

“Agra! Fine, let's go." Maya grumbled before walking away.

"Hurry up, we are going."

Aoi chuckled and Yui shook her head and followed behind Maya.

"Let's go Sakura!" Aoi held my hand, taking me with her.

I was in middle school, second year when I met Maya. Maya Sakishima.

Back then I was an introvert and didn't had or didn't knew how to make friends. That time Maya approached me and became my friend. After that I met Aoi, Yui and others.

She is my best friend and I cherish her.
