Joining the guild

I let out a long sigh. I don't want this but I can’t just let her starve ” fine i’m heading to the capital you can follow me there.” she seems excited by this and screams “ YEAH!” It soon becomes night and I pitch a tent for us to stay in “ Sleep over there by the exit.” She lays down and quickly sleeps. I soon after follow her and went to sleep as well. I wake up In the morning and head outside the tent to see hundreds of humans In a zombie-like state “ W-What the..” before I can finish my sentence I see Ayuuda sitting there “ good morning don’t mind the cattle.” I am left speechless and I pinch myself to make sure I’m awake. “ I don’t even know what to say but let’s leave before the police come.” We then quickly packed up and left, sure I feel bad leaving them like that but right now I have to leave so I’m not arrested for the crime! “ I get the feeling this Is gonna be a long journey.” she laughs “ of course I look forward to working with you, even out of all the humans your blood was still the best.” I keep walking towards the adventurers guild with it now being in sight I start running and Ayuuda starts flying behind me I turn around shocked “ y-you can fly?” she laughs again “ you think that sword freed me through blind luck I used my magic to fly it into my ropes after it flew from your dainty hands.” Now that I think about It if that happened randomly it’d make absolutely no sense “ T-that’s okay maybe I did actually believe it happened randomly but still It’s uh I don’t even know anymore.” She laughs at my naivety.

About 4 minutes later we reached the adventurers guild “ welcome!” we’re greeted by the attendant." Hello, I’d like to register to be an adventurer.”

She smiles “ we have very few adventurers left; they either die or run away.” she seems a lot darker now talking about this “we need more people like you willing to fight and die for the country.” I thought it was only natural to be a warrior. I guess the different worlds? “ I thought it was everyone’s dream?” She laughs hard at this.

“ Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha yeah right everyone wants to be a politician Or merchant. ”

“ How surprising I thought everyone wanted to be an adventurer; it was always my goal almost like a natural instinct..” She hands me the papers I need to sign and about a minute later I accept my first quest.

I start walking to my first quest aka guarding the royal palace! “ Yuuta, where are we going? I require sustenance feed me!” I slice my arm.

“ Here!” She drinks my blood and perks up. She now starts flying very fast with me on her back to the royal capital. When we reach it about ten minutes later, we are greeted by border security.

“ you there present your Id or guild membership!”I pull out my guild membership card.

“ Ah copper so your new huh? Anyway welcome to the capital city of Ezunia!” I put my guild card back In my pocket.” thanks.” We walk through the gate and are bombarded with a bustling street market.“ Wow!” Ayuuda says, her eyes sparkling with excitement. She's clearly impressed with the various colors of the market. She runs to various stalls, some of them selling foods I remember from Nihan. Sadly, we don’t have time to look around. I grab Ayuuda by the shoulder and drag her away.” H-Hey I was looking at the stalls!” she screams trying to fight me off.

“ Later we have to leave we’re supposed to meet the royal family as soon as we arrive.” She sighs “ You owe me Yuuta ah I'll forgive you if I get a pint of your blood for 3 days straight!” “ H-huh you that’s a lot of blood.” she just smiles and laughs it off it seems like i’ll have no choice but to agree. We reach the royal palace a few hours later. “ Yuuta, how did you get us so lost that it took hours, it should've only taken 20 minutes!” I blush somewhat embarrassed that I got us so lost. “ Y-you could’ve flown so you could guide me. I don't have a map of the capital!!” she laughs at me” You really need a map to operate, haha honestly.” I walk away into the palace.

“ Your majesty, your party security has arrived.” The king Is a tall man with a long blonde beard and long blond hair. He wears a purple overcoat and his crown shines brighter than the moon.” send them In.” the king commands in a slow deep voice.

“ You must be the adventurers tasked with guarding me during my party.” the king says with a small smile spreading across his face “ it will be a 4 hour event with some of the highest ranking humans in the world now introduce yourselves!”the king says in a friendly voice with a smile and faster tone.

“ I’m Yuuta and this is my travel assistant Ayuuda.” the king laughs heartily.

“ What fine names you both have and Yuuta isn’t that Nori’s sword I forged it myself.” I look at the king in shock” you forged It!?” The king burst out laughing at this he tries to talk but can’t compose himself about a minute later he says “ yes before I became king I was a renowned swordsmith I made that sword to show my gratitude to him.” My first thought after hearing this is how the king feels about me inheriting this sword made to express his gratitude. “ Majesty, are you mad he gave me the sword?” The king laughs.

“ No I’m not. Hopefully this means It’ll pass down the bond of hero and ruler to you and perhaps my daughter.” before I can respond we’re Interrupted by the arrival of some guests from further counties “ Ah have they arrived already?well it’s been nice see you, the party is tomorrow.” Me and Ayuuda leave the palace and rest in an inn all night. We wake up early in the morning so we can get to the palace early. I give Ayuuda some blood so she can stay at full power today. The palace Is a big place with plenty of dark purple banners draped over railings. “ Sir Yuuta, are you here for duty this early?”

“ yes I woke up early so I can guard before the party even starts with all these nobles here.” We are led onto the terrace in the palace room as it provides a strategic position overlooking the entire party. We stood watch for about 13 hours before the party officially began” this Is boring!” Ayuuda said clearly wanting to move around and fight but I held her in place and an hour later she’s asleep. About two hours later when the party's almost over there’s a strong attack by demons! Ayuuda wakes with a jerk as the roof crashes to the ground with various nobles diving out of the way.”

“ Fear us Humans, we are the 20 commanders of the demon king!” Then a tall shadowy female figure came down through the hole in the roof.
