Chapter 3:

My Escape

Not The Cinderella's Story

As I make my way up the long and narrow staircase, I can't help but keep remembering the beautiful outside. I then shouted “Let's get the plan started!”

My face was almost drenched in sweat as I said that. I don't do well with stairs and never had been but still my lips pursed into a deranged smile.

Once I got back to “my” room I quickly wiped off the sweat with the sleeve of my nightgown. It was only then I realized I haven't gotten a look of what I look like. So I quickly look for a mirror and find a shattered piece hidden away in the drawer near my bed. I had light gray eyes, with messy black hair. I don't have an attractive appearance, I look more sick than anything. Though, I wasn't sure that I would actually be this pretty and alike from my old appearance. I also looked much younger than I thought I was, around age 8 or 10 was what would fit my look.

‘Maybe it's a regressor thing..No, maybe something like reincarnation?’ I thought. After I cleared most of my thoughts, I called for my butler to start my escape plan. I asked him to make me some cookies after asking, he remained plain-faced with a simple closed-eye expression and bowed his head a little, placed his hand on his chest and left. I had no idea what that meant! I had thought about what only those actions could mean…

A few minutes later the cookies I received were a mix of oat cookies and chocolate chip with bits of caramel and nuts.

Butlers POV

Once Azalea received them her eyes glimmered in the little sunlight she had in her room…It was the first time I saw that expression on the mistress face. I knew almost every aspect of Azalea since I have served her since she was 3, so I knew she had enjoyed cookies for a while but she only expressed through her words. ‘How pretty’ I thought… It's such a shame as what's to come. I looked at her with sympathy, bowed and left.

Azaleas POV

I licked my lips and was salivating on how it's almost as if he knew that I like these cookies! ‘Too bad I have to eat them later’ I thought.

Once the butler placed the cookies with a pot of tea, he left for his duties. “I'm assuming he's the only one working here… whatever at least he's not pestering me” I say with a high class attitude. I wanted to look for a basket to put my goodies in, and soon found a dusty brown basket with a piece of cloth placed on top of my shelf, right above my bed. l tried grabbing the basket from the safe essence of the floor, but I couldn't so I sighed and got on top of my bed. Still on top of my bed I couldn't reach it. Suddenly a purple gloom took over the basket and pushed over the edge of the shelf and fell right into my hands.

“Oof”

My hair got in front of my face as I catched it. I turned my foot to face the door but I tripped on the cover of my bed and fell.

“AhH-”

But just in time I step again and catch my fall. “Phew, that was close,”I said as I caught my breath in relief. I look down at the basket and get down from my bed and blow off the dust coughing the process. “Now let's take the pot of tea, cookies, book and a Pillow and see what's in the closet”,I said. As I open the crumbling door a bunch of realistic bats come flying out. What I found was a conveniently clean black laced cloak.

I take what I gathered, put the book inside the basket after the tea and cookies then the pillow. After that I pulled the cloak from the closet and put it on. “How exciting! It's time for an adventure”, I thought. I open the hatch of her bed and slowly close it. The smell of the wonderful fresh air came flowing in as I was quickly stepping down the stairs. I then stop myself right after I made my way to the outside and say…

“I have no idea where to go!”

I put my hand to my face in dissatisfaction. But I do know that only time will tell! And started walking toward wherever fate leads me. Leaves gently brush against me as I travel forward and find a brown dusty road. It would never hurt to follow it, I thought. As I kept walking I could see a faint tower. And a large coverage of mist covering a town.

As the hours pass by, Azalea gets very tired.‘Maybe it was that tea I drank on the way,’ she thought. Azalea looked down at the basket and in the corner of her eye she saw flowers upcoming. ‘How beautiful,’ she thought.

“Maybe I should pick some on the way and see if I can sell them..”

Then Azalea saw a sign that hung above a tree in big black bold letters that read "ILLEGAL TO PICK" After seeing the sign Azalea wore a saddened face, that only made her complexion look more sick.

But as she was busy looking around she noticed that she was In front of the capital in Pesudon called Uso. “Uso….” Azalea thought. Azalea couldn't help the fact that, that name sounded familiar to her. “I guess I'll write it down I don't even know if I will remember anything tomorrow

It must be frustrating…well the azalea before is what I mean. She must've never understood anything,” said Azalea. Suddenly children came running in towards her that soon bumped her.

Soon she realized that she was now In a crowd hurrying towards the street full of delicious, hot food. She then bumps into a group of crusty men. She says sorry, lifts her head a bit, takes a look at them then hurriedly looks down and leaves. After a while of looking and salivating at the street food stands she hears her stomach grumble.

“Heheh~”

she expresses in defeat she turns to her basket of tea and cookies.

But to her surprise-

“AHH”

There was no basket to be found…

Though there was one thing she forgot that was extremely important. Her book. She didn't have shoes nor money at the time either. So take some time and think "How was she walking from her estate to the Capital City barefoot and forgotten the most important thing, money?"
