The Legend of the Golden Beads

You see, my dear Linda, the world was once a place of peace and happiness.

Men and women lived in harmony with nature, free to venture into the unknown and explore everything the world had to offer them. And then, the freaks came.

These monsters brought chaos and destruction above the land and caused only pain and suffering to whoever was unlucky enough to cross their paths. They wiped out entire kingdoms, and even the mightiest warriors found themselves helpless before them. It was only in their darkest hour, a group of brave men and women, along with their families, sought refuge. They journeyed far and wide to find a safe haven. Together, they built giant walls fortified with powerful spells, creating a safe haven within. They built the kingdom of Valcrest, our home. Protected by its seven walls, Valcrest remains the last standing human settlement.

And yet, as great and full of hope is the story of Valcrest, it is nothing when compared to the legend of the Golden Beads. A group of nine legendary heroes, that embodies the very hope that one day, we will see the world behind the walls of Valcrest.

The legend says that each member of the Golden Beads is very different from the others, making them experts in a lot of domains. It is also said, that every one of them could take out an entire army on their own, but is when they come together that they become an unstoppable force.

They chose to live beyond the safety of the walls, venturing into the outside world to battle and study the Freaks, gathering valuable information to aid in their extermination. They travel through treacherous lands, facing countless dangers and battling the fearsome Freaks at every turn.

Like most humans, they possessed a unique ability known as a Berk, which they mastered through unwavering determination and perseverance, reaching unimaginable levels of power.

But it was not just their individual strengths that made the Golden Beads legendary. It was their unwavering bond and their unbreakable unity. They stood side by side, fighting as one, their powers intertwining like the threads of a golden necklace. They would face the most fearsome Freaks, battling them with skill and determination. Their victories were sung in ballads, their names whispered in awe and reverence. The Golden Beads became the embodiment of bravery and sacrifice, a symbol of hope for all those hiding behind the walls.

As for who the members are, there are a lot of stories, but all of them have details that were lost behind the walls. However, I can tell with confidence about two of them.

Yuudai, the warrior of the Beads, before whose sword all enemies tremble. Strong and charming, Yuudai is said to be the strongest swordsman of all time. Dying by his sword is considered to be the most honorable death a warrior could hope for.

And then there's Hiroshi, the dreamer of the Beads. Kind and visionary, Hiroshi is a mage so powerful, that magic emanates from him without control. Legend has it that in the mere presence of Hiroshi, a mage's power grows stronger.

Linda, these two were treasures that I failed to appreciate. And now, when dark times are waiting to come, all I can hope is that they will return. Because they will be the only ones who will be able to bring peace and justice back to Valcrest.
