our "date" at the movies

"Hey so what theater are we meeting at?” I look up theaters near me on my phone and see one only 4-5 minutes away. 

"Let's see does Yebisu garden cinema work for you?” She pulls her phone out of her bag and looks it up. 

“ Well It works but you don’t want to go somewhere a little farther y’know live a little.” I snicker trying not to laugh but I can’t hold it in. After about five seconds I burst out laughing.

 “ I never thought you’d want to try living a little hahaha.” she scowls at me but seems to realize my point and backs down knowing It's true.

” well I’m all serious at school because I want to succeed in life so I keep distractions away p-plus this is the first time I've really hung out after school so I figured why not go somewhere new...” she looks away a little embarrassed.

 I chuckle slightly. I guess it’s a touchy subject with how much talking she’s doing “ alright then how about we go to toho cinema in Kashiwa?” She smiles excitedly, she grabs my hand and we start running to the station as fast as she can make us. We arrive at the train station about 10 minutes later and she pays for my train ticket.

 “ This means you're paying for both our snacks and drinks.” she smiles as we board the train I sigh but smile back.

 “ fine I’ll pay if you get rid of your magazine.” She looks surprised. I even knew about it she pulls it out of her bag and just stares at it for a minute. She can’t seem to decide. “That woman on the cover…I dislike her, she's not as perfect as she seems.” it’s true she’s one of the only people I dislike. She mistreats the crew and other models that’s why she's by herself on the cover. 

“ Alright I’ll trust you in this. I'll discard it when we get off the train but I get an extra large cola and extra candy!” I grimace I’ll have to work an extra shoot this month.

” Fine,fine I’ll pay but jeez why her she’s not even that special.”

 She pulls the magazine out from her bag and looks at Ai for a second before pointing at the picture.” I can’t see that. She’s way special. If she's not special then… what am I?” She looks up at me tears, starting to well up.

” You win in terms of personality. That woman was conniving and evil. She made me look like a fool because I was trying to be nice to her. You are special, your personality shines brightly and you're cuter than you give yourself credit for.” her eyes spring up, she wipes the tears and blushes she sits and stares at me looking shocked for a second.

” Y-you're not trying to say I’m as a-attractive as Ai a-are you?” I frown and almost speak but then the train conductor announces over the intercom the train is arriving at the station. She hurries me to the door and we rush to the theater not saying a word to each other until we sit down in our seats.

 “ You are, I was saying Ai is nothing but a weed no she’s scum!” my eyes flare for a second before calming down. I look over and see Mikawa staring at me. But before either of us can say anything more the lights go out completely and the movie starts I knew High Load was the right choice. Mikawa seems to be enjoying the movie. I occasionally glance over at her and see her eyes are twinkling with excitement. I take a sip of my soda before the urge to pee hits me and I have to rush to the bathroom. Mikawa seems too interested in the movie to notice me leaving. I suddenly got a super strong urge to hurry to the bathroom. I should've followed my normal routine of going to the bathroom before the movie! After using the bathroom and washing my hands I hurry out of the bathroom trying to get back to the movie. 

I felt something bounce off of me. I looked down to notice a girl on the floor. She had pink and red bangs and shining emerald eyes. I blush a little before regaining my composure. “ I’m so sorry, are you okay?” I ask her as I kneel down and extend my hand to her. She looks up at me and blushes a bit before grabbing onto my hand.

” haha yes I was rushing to the bathroom I’m sorry…h-here i’ll write my number down text me if you want to grab a coffee so I can apologize for this." She hands me a notecard with her number on it. She also wrote her name Mio Takushita before rushing to the bathroom. I look at the card for a second before putting it in my pocket and walking back to the theater Mio Takushita huh. I sat back in my seat, which seemed to surprise Mikawa.

” W-when did you leave!?” she whispers with a shocked look on her face glancing over at the movie.” 

I went to the bathroom. What did I miss?” she starts whispering excitedly about everything that’s happened in the last 20 minutes so I got a little bit of a recap. She summed it up in about three minutes then we enjoyed the rest of the movie for about another hour. 

“ Man, you really scared me when you showed up out of nowhere. I'm a little shocked I didn’t notice you leave." She says a little curious about how I was so quiet. I just laugh it off though I know she’s very perceptive most of the time when it comes to people she meets in person. 

“ Well you were super into the movie it’s no wonder you didn’t notice I get like that too.” She looks over at me and then points to a store behind me.

” look over there that cafe it looks super fancy doesn't it?” She grabs my arm and pulls me over to the cafe. It appears to be a pop up cafe for a new manga Alien Apocalypse. There are tons of drawings all over the place from the author. 

“ Mikawa-san, are you perhaps an otaku?” she starts sweating and covers my mouth she then calms down a little too much before glaring at me. “ You say a word of this and you die, shake your head yes or no.” I start sweating before quickly nodding yes she then moves her hand and wipes it off with a napkin the waiter comes to take our orders a few seconds later. We order and chat about the movie while we drink our alien themed coffee. We talk for about an hour before hopping on the train and heading back towards our homes.
