#021 Natural Causes

I had never seen Duncan cry until Ollie died.

The year is 2053 or 5, depending on whether you still believe in God after the apocalypse.

Ollie is -was- Duncan's dog and his death was not particularly violent. No disease, hunger or wounds… Ollie died of old age, as all living things do.

A natural death is rare these days. Duncan, a hunter by nature, was hit particularly hard by how peaceful his friend went down. Death, the fleeting nature of life, is what makes us human after all.

The infected never die.

That is what separates us from them.
