Chapter 6:

Crystal academy for the gifted

Beyond the shadows

Timmy and Sasha went back to the organisation.

They reached and than Sasha said she was taking Timmy to the teleportation array so they could travel to the academy.

"Where's Leah?" Timmy asked wondering where she went.

"She went back earlier." Sasha said smirking, clearly amused by the question.

"Why are you smiling so cheekily." Fin said as he walked up to them and folded his hands.

"I'm not." Sasha said closing her eyes and folding her hands. She looked away from him.

"Yes you were." Fin said smirking this time.

"When are we leaving." Timmy asked getting a bit impatient. He wanted to see the academy.

"Calm down kid." Sasha said as she started walking again.

"What's your name again? Tommy?" Fin asked laughing nervously.

"Timmy." Timmy said as he followed Sasha.

"Okay Timmy." Fin said following them to the teleportation field.

"Why are you following us?" Sasha asked irritated.

"Because I was told by madam to accompany you." Fin said as he followed them into a large room.

There were about 4 round platforms with inscriptions on them. Timmy guessed those were the arrays.

"Ugh,I'm not a baby anymore. I'm responsible enough to take care of myself." Sasha complained raising her voice.

"Don't fight with me, fight your madam." Fin said raising his hands.

"Whatever." Sasha said before turning to Timmy."let's go kid."

"Have you both got everything you needed?" Fin asked following them to the biggest platform which was in the middle.

"Yes." Timmy nodded as he answered.

Sasha kept silent before giving up to fin's demanding gaze and saying,"its all in my ring."

"Great." Fin said before he went to the array and after reciting something and putting some sort of gems in it. The engravings on the array lit up.

"Come on." Sasha said to Timmy.

Timmy followed her unto the array. Fin followed to and than after saying something the array activated and suddenly Timmy felt his feet leave the ground.

He wasn't sure if his feet rose off the ground or if he was falling. In the next split second Timmy found himself in a huge area. The area was full of portals.

"Hey kid," Sasha said to him."feeling sick or something? It is your first time after all."

Timmy shook his head. He felt fine.

Sasha nodded understandingly and started chatting about something random. But her words fell on deaf ears. Timmy was scanning the area he had come to.

"Hey kid! ya listening?" Sasha asked.

"Um,No." Timmy honestly replied.

"Ugh,that brat." Sasha said as she followed fin off the portal.

Timmy followed Sasha and Fin into the school. Than they met a woman who looked like she had just started getting old. Sasha explained that principal had recruited Timmy into the school. The Woman nodded and led Timmy Into the dorms.

Than Sasha told Timmy she would meet him again later and left with fin. Timmy was led to his room.

He left his backpack and his suitcase on the floor and looked from the window, admiring the view. There was a large area with a fountain in the middle and there remained nobody outside. It was early morning so it was expected.

Timmy sighed and went to lie down on his bed. He closed his eyes and than spoke.

"Hey Jago,are you there?"

"Yes, yes." Jago replied.

"Why were you so quiet?" Timmy opened his eyes as he asked him.

"I have to be cautious in front of powerful people in case they sense me." Jago said.

"We'll be learning at the academy now so we can become stronger." Timmy said looking at his palm.

"You should also train by yourself so you can improve physically." Jago said.

"Sure thing." Timmy said closing his eyes.

This time he fell into a slumber.

Timmy woke up feeling energised. He looked outside and realised it was about 8am In the morning. Timmy sat up and rubbed his eyes. He realised there was a bathroom in his dorm room.

After Timmy washed his face he lied down on the bed again. He was there for a few minutes before he heard someone knock on his door. He sat up and wondered who it was.

Timmy went to check and saw fin standing there.

"Hello." Timmy greeted fin.

"Oh hey," Fin said replying to his greeting."I was told to take you to the breakfast hall. Everyone else has eaten so you'll have to eat alone today."

"I don't mind," Timmy said plainly.

"Than let's go." Fin said turning to leave.

Timmy followed him through the corridor and down a staircase. They left the boys dorm and entered the main building. As they entered there was a large dining hall.

Timmy wondered if he'd have to sit there alone and eat.

"The food is already set for you here so eat." Fin said pointing to some food placed on the long dining room table.

Timmy realised that he would have to eat alone.

Fin turned to leave and than said before he left."by the time you finish eat,Leah should meet you here. She'll show you around. You don't start studying until next week since the academy is on a temporary break."

"Okay." Timmy replied as he sat down to begin eating.

Timmy quickly finished his meal. He was in the middle of gulping down water when Leah entered the hall.

"Hey Timmy!" She said as she walked in.

"Hey," Timmy said standing up from his place to leave."do you knowwhere do I leave these plates?"

"Come to the kitchen." Leah said leading the way.

Timmy followed her to the kitchen and than he left his plates there. He followed Leah outside and she turned to look at him.

Leah observed his appearance from top to bottom before saying,"I should buy you some clothes and get you a haircut."

"How will you do that?" Timmy asked genuinely curious. How do people cut their hair in boarding school anyways.

"We can head to town." Leah said with a bright smile.

"Oh." Timmy said as he ruffled his terribly cut and untidy hair.

"Go change into a shirt with trousers," Leah ordered Timmy. "You should know the way to your dorm. "

Timmy nodded. He remembered it. Timmy went back into the room and changed into a long sleeve button up shirt and trousers. He returned to find Leah waiting for him.

"Much better looking now." She said smiling Happily.

"Thank you." Timmy said.

"Now follow me!" Leah suddenly exclaimed.

Timmy obliged and followed her out of the school gates and into the town. The first place Leah took him was a barber. The barber cut him a plain but neat haircut and Leah gave him a few silver pieces.

Next Leah went around buying him clothes and shoes. The clothing was mystaical which meant it didn't wear down as much as normal clothes. Leah had said that now that he attendeda crystal academy,he would need it."

Timmy was walking and he saw a huge platform and up there was a sign. It read "anyone who defeats the host in an arm wrestle will receive a high grade item.

Timmy was busy reading the sign when his thoughts were disturbed by a voice.

"Let's return now." Leah said smiling her usual bright smile.

"Okay." Timmy said and followed her back to the school.

After they returned and Timmy left his clothes in his room. Timmy followed Leah to the what she called the training grounds. There were plenty of people practicing there. Leah walked up to someone and called them. They were sparring with someone.

That person stopped at Leah's voice and called off the fight.

"Hey Neo!" Leah said calling unto him.

"Hey Leah,it's been a while."the boy named Neo said walking towards Leah.

"I was busy with a couple of things," Leah awkwardly said before switching the subject."Anyways I'd like you to meet Timmy. He's new at the academy."

"New?" Neo asked.

"Yeah, he was recruited," Leah said before turning to face Timmy. "Timmy, this is my friend neo."

Neo raised his hand and smiled at Timmy.

Timmy simply nodded his head and said,"hey."

"He's not very talkative." Leah said with a light laugh.

"I've noticed." Neo said wiping sweat from his forehead.

"He'll probably be in our class." Leah said playfully punching Neo's arm.

"Is he awakened?" Neo said looking shocked."you sure he isn't a transfer student."

"He isn't. He's newly recruited." Leah said with a bored sound to her voice.

"He's raw talent, one of the best we've had." Neo said as he looked at Timmy,he seemed impressed.

"May that's a bit too much." Leah said as she brushed away a few strands of hair off her face.

"Maybe, but I could be right," Neo smiled as he said this. "Anyways I hope you're ready for the festival on Sunday night."

"Festival?" Timmy asked speaking.

"Yeah, there's going to be a feast." Neo said seeming uninterested.

"Oh." Timmy said slowly.

After leaving Neo leah gave Timmy a tour of the academy until it was lunchtime. After they had attended lunch Timmy headed back to his room.

He lied down on the bed before he heard the demon speak to him.

"Hey Timmy,go train." Jago said to him.

"What training should I do." Timmy asked him as he lied down and stared at the roof.

"For now just start running." Jago said.

"Are you sure you are not attempting to kill me?" Timmy asked the demon.

"Just do as I say." Jago snapped at Timmy.

"Okay." Timmy said.

The next 3 days training was all Timmy did. The more he worked out the stronger he felt his body become. He felt much more powerful after working out.

The days went by in a flash and soon it was the night of the feast.

Timmy would have to look his best.

That's exactly what Leah told him.
