Chapter 11- You!!

As Aya's grip tightened around me, I felt a mix of conflicting emotions. Despite the tense atmosphere, my words slipped out without much thought, fuelled by my own frustration and confusion. "Are you even close to me, just leave me alone" I blurted out, disregarding the gravity of the situation. At that moment, I didn't consider the impact of my words or the pain they could inflict.

Aya's reaction was immediate. Her grip loosened, and she stepped back, her face downcast. The air between us grew heavy with silence as her response echoed softly. "Fine."

"Very well then," I responded, my tone devoid of interest as I dismissed her words. "If you insist on pursuing this path, go ahead," I added, a hint of disdain creeping into my voice. “Getting rejected Frankly you are just pathetic." The harshness of my words hung in the air, a cold reminder of my indifference.

I continued, my words laced with a sense of detached warning, "Just make sure you don't meet your demise. If you die to perish under my watch, not only will your family come to kill me but my mother will be the 1st one to kill me. You better remember that." My voice dripped with an unfriendly edge, emphasizing the action she took.

"I am going to Asahi's place," I stated in a tone devoid of emotion. "You better head back," I added in the same monotone. With nothing else to occupy my time, I turned and began walking away from her. After walking about 50 meters, I glanced back at Aya and noticed that she was still standing there, cold as ice, with her head bowed. "Pathetic," I uttered emotionlessly. "I must find a new strategy to stop this marriage."

After a brisk 15-minute walk, I arrived at Asahi's father's café, the chilly night air clinging to me. Pushing open the door, I stepped inside and found myself greeted by the warmth within. "Asahi, it's mid-spring, isn't it? So why does it feel so cold?" I inquired, the words escaping my lips as I entered the cozy café space. A middle-aged man with a cheerful smile and striking light brown hair stood before me. It was Asahi's father. "Long time no see, Yuuki. Has your father returned home?" he asked, maintaining his welcoming smile. With a lack of enthusiasm, I responded, "No, he never seems to be home, except for winter or on my mother's birthday." The weariness in my voice echoed my disinterest in my own family affairs.

"Oh, Yuuki! Twice in one day. What can I get you?" Asahi exclaimed, radiating his usual morning energy. "I'll have a hazelnut cold coffee, extra strong, and let's catch up as well, if you don't mind," I replied. Asahi grinned and responded, "Coming right up, and you can always count on me for some bro time." He said, his smile echoing through the café, with each and every bystander looking at him. While I quietly went inside my booth.

About five minutes later, Asahi arrived with a cup of my hazelnut coffee in hand. "Your cold hazelnut coffee is ready," he announced as he joined me in the booth. With his cheerful demeanour intact, he asked, "So, tell me why you need my bro time."

I sighed and replied, "It's about the girl who was sitting with me earlier. Why didn't you warn me about her beforehand?"

Asahi looked puzzled for a moment before it dawned on him. "Warned about her? You mean, Miss Aya Masuri," he said, realization crossing his face. "The Masuri family has been a patron of this café ever since it was established."

“Then why, she came to sit next to me.” Confused, I questioned why she chose to sit next to me.

Asahi explained, "The seat you occupied is usually where she sits. I was about to ask you to leave, but she insisted otherwise. I even suggested she sit in the next booth, but she refused and insisted on sharing the space with you."

“Well!! That girl.”….. I paused, “happens to be my fiancé..” I screamed in atone what puffed my eyeballs. “Well, you are in luck, she is the most loyal girl you will ever meet, she is also the smartest girl I have ever met, also she is cute.” He added.

*cough* *cough* “What did you say!!” I asked shocked while choking on my drink, “She is an overly pampered girl, who cannot coup up with rejections.” I said in a furry confused and shocked.

"You are so wrong," Asahi retorted, looking directly at me. "She works part-time at our café branch in downtown Tokyo and you trust me, she is the complete opposite of pampered. Have you rejected her or something?"

I sighed, "More or less, but not in front of her family," I clarified, acknowledging the complex dynamics of our situation.
