Chapter 12- Cry-baby!!

*cough* *cough* “What did you say!!” I asked shocked while choking on my drink, “She is an overly pampered girl, who cannot coup up with rejections.” I said in a furry confused and shocked.

"You are so wrong," Asahi retorted, looking directly at me. "She works part-time at our café branch in downtown Tokyo and you trust me, she is the complete opposite of pampered. Have you rejected her or something?"

I sighed, "More or less, but not in front of her family," I clarified, acknowledging the complex dynamics of our situation.

"Just go and apologize to her," Asahi insisted, his tone firm and determined. I stared at him with a mix of fury and confusion. "Apologize to her. Why should I? I simply rejected her. It's not a big deal," I retorted, trying to justify my actions.

Asahi's expression turned serious as he spoke, his concern evident in his voice. "I know it may seem like you just rejected her, but I believe that there is more to it. You surely have embarrassed her in some way, like making fun of her coffee taste, or something like that. And that’s not right, Yuuki."

I shrugged, unconcerned. "Well, that's not my problem. She should learn to handle rejection." I dismissed the idea, thinking it was unnecessary to apologize for something so trivial. But Asahi wasn't about to let me off the hook.

He leaned closer, a mischievous smile playing on his face. "You may not realize it, but she's a cute girl, Yuuki. You can't just treat her like that and walk away. It's not fair to her."

"Cute? What does that have to do with anything?" I asked, genuinely confused by Asahi's sudden insistence. But his smile only grew wider. "Well, since you find her cute, it's all the more reason for you to apologize. Trust me, it will make a difference."

Reluctantly, I started to consider Asahi's words. Maybe I had been too dismissive of Aya's feelings. Perhaps I had hurt her more than I realized. Asahi had always been a good judge of character, and if he saw something worth fighting for, maybe I should listen.

"Fine," I finally conceded, a sigh escaping my lips. "I'll apologize to her.” Asahi's eyes sparkled with satisfaction as he patted me on the back. "That's the spirit, Yuuki! You won't regret it, I promise."

“Okay!!!” I replied with a null tone. Getting out of the booth, walking out of the café. With a resigned sigh, I pushed myself out of the booth and made my way towards the exit of the café. The familiar chime of the door signalled my departure, and a cool breeze greeted me as I stepped outside into the bustling streets.

“Now, where she is.” I decided to head towards the Masuri estate, where Aya's family resided. It seemed like the most logical place to find her, considering her close ties to her parents and their involvement in arranging her marriage.

While I was making my way to the Masuri Estate, I tried to find the best situation to approach her, “Apologising and apologising to a girl are two different things,” I uttered in my mouth, with a sense of embarrassment in my mind. As I approached the Masuri estate, I heard something coming from the Masuri Estate walls.

My heart raced as I strained to listen, trying to make sense of the words that had reached my ears. The sound was faint at first, barely audible over the rustling leaves and distant traffic. But as I focused, it became clearer—a voice, filled with anguish and despair.

Curiosity and concern consumed me, and without hesitation, I moved closer to the source of the sound. As I neared the wall of the Masuri Estate, I saw a small opening, just enough to catch a glimpse of what lay beyond.

Peering through the opening, my eyes widened at the sight before me. Aya stood in the courtyard, her face streaked with tears, her body trembling with emotion. She was in the company of her mother, who wore an expression of stern disapproval. Their voices carried through the air, laden with tension and conflict.

"I can't believe you would do this, Mother," Aya said, her voice choked with tears. "You know how I feel about him. How could you betray me like this?"

Her mother's voice was sharp and commanding. "Enough, Aya! This is for your own good. You need to think of your family's reputation and the responsibilities that come with it. You cannot let your personal feelings cloud your judgment."
