Sword and Love

Chapter 14 - Confrontation

"I outright rejected her," I continued, my voice heavy with remorse. "But circumstances have taken an unexpected turn, and now I find myself bound to marry her, a prospect I am not entirely comfortable with. However, there is a specific reason why I must apologize to her." My tone grew serious, the weight of responsibility weighing on my words. "Will you assist me in this, Misaki?" I pleaded, hoping for her support.

Misaki shook her head, dismissing my request with a wave of her hand. "No," she replied firmly. "Not at all.”

Misaki's dismissive reaction didn't surprise me; she had always been that way since I first met her. "You should go home," I whispered to her in a low voice. "I'll continue my search for Yuuki." Aya's voice reached my ears from beyond the wall, and frustration welled up within me. "Damn it, I couldn't hear what she said," I muttered with a mix of annoyance and disappointment.

"Aya is out looking for you late at night. You two really are like love birds," Misaki remarked, her tone half-joking. I brushed off her comment, feeling a tinge of irritation. "That's none of my concern. I'll head back now," She replied curtly.

"Now what should I do?" I said to myself in a low, thinking about my next move. I desperately searched for a plausible scenario to approach Aya and offer my apology. Realizing I needed guidance, I reached for my phone and dialled Asahi's number.

"Hey, Asahi," I greeted him, my voice filled with urgency. "Have you ever apologized to someone?"

Asahi's response came quickly, "Of course I have. Why do you ask?"

I took a deep breath, trying to gather my thoughts, but as soon as I was about to answer Asahi replied to me, “Did you apologise to Aya,” Asahi said as quickly as possible. “No!!”

"Then, don't talk to me!" Asahi mocked, his words stinging.

But I wasn't ready to back down. "Wait!" I retorted, my voice steady but cold. A terrifying, devilish smile crept onto my face, fuelled by determination and a newfound resolve. "I need Getsumei near the children's park, near your café."

There was a brief silence on the other end of the line as Asahi processed my unexpected response. Finally, he spoke, his voice quiet but filled with understanding. "Mochiron," he replied in a cold sense record.

I could sense his willingness to support me despite his initial reluctance. We had been through thick and thin together, and he knew that when I spoke in such a determined tone, there was no turning back. Asahi was ready to lend a hand in my quest to make things right with Aya.

"I will be there! You better be there, and start the action as you like," I declared, cutting the call with a sense of determination. I swiftly climbed up the wall of the Masuri estate, pushing myself up and leaping off onto the next wall. With agility and speed, I jumped from one roof to another, navigating the city's rooftops in a race against time.

My objective was clear: to reach the children's park before Aya. If her words were true and she intended to find me, then she would likely head to Okoro café first. And since the children's park was situated before the café, it became the prime location for our encounter.

As I bounded across the rooftops, my mind raced with thoughts of how I would approach Aya and deliver my apology. I rehearsed my words, hoping to convey my sincerity and remorse. This was my chance to make things right, to mend the rift between us and salvage whatever was left of our connection.

With each leap, my anticipation grew, and the distance between me and the children's park shortened. I was determined to be there before Aya, ready to face her and seek forgiveness for my past actions.

“All this training for this,” I said to myself while landing in the Children’s park, in a perfect way. “Acrobatics, Kendo, Kyudo, fencing, Siljun Dobup, Kobudo, stesso tempo. All these fighting styles master in eight years, Mastery over all.” I said to myself, with a smile of pride over my smile.

"Asahi, you better be there," I whispered to myself, my heart pounding with anticipation. Aya's voice echoed through the air, calling out my name. "Show your acting," I silently reminded myself, steeling my nerves for what was about to unfold.

"Yuuki, where are you?" Aya's voice carried a mix of concern and frustration. "Seriously, where are you!!!" Her words held a tinge of anger. I took a deep breath, steadying myself, before calling out, "Over here!"

Aya's gaze turned towards me, and she hurriedly made her way towards my direction. As she closed the distance between us, I braced myself for the confrontation that awaited us. This was the moment I had been waiting for, the opportunity to apologize and make amends.

"There you are," Aya exclaimed upon reaching me, her voice filled with a mix of relief and curiosity. The tension in the air was palpable, and I knew that this conversation would be a defining moment for us both.

Just as Aya and I stood face to face, a sudden interruption shattered the fragile moment. From out of nowhere, a teenager emerged from the bushes near the swings, startling us both. "Caught you!!" the young man exclaimed, his voice echoing through the neighbourhood, almost walking them up.
