Chapter 170:

The Plan to Defund Coaster Bozo Beyond Some Degree of Recovery

Museworld

According to Frankie’s phone, Cinema City’s Holofield was a newer attraction towards the far back of the zone, securing a special location all to itself. It was an entertainment center, not unlike any other attraction- except that it came with a very lofty promise from Kidney himself, as quoted on the website:

“Create anything you can imagine.” The accidental goth cited. “So some kinda sandbox? Big whoop. Shouldn’t this be in the VR area?”

“It’s not VR, it’s freeform art!” Argued Katie, pointing to photos of all the holograms. “I’ve heard of this place before- it was built so that even unskilled people could experience the joy of animating of creation!”

“I’ll have to figure out how this all works…”

The website did little to explain anything in detail, though a simple breakdown was at least provided- the Holofield was an enclosed area in which guests could take part in all sorts of activities by creating holograms, all using nothing but their imagination, (apparently) including, but not limited to, competitive games of creativity where that very imagination was the deciding factor.

“So what… I just gotta be more creative than some lame old failed park owner? You’ve gotta be kidding.”

Katie sighed.

“Are you… sure about all this? I- know it was my idea, but if you don’t-“

“If Bozo’s there, that’s where I’m going. At least by the sound of it I won’t have to put up with his stupid cronies in that place.”

“You’re really not afraid anymore?”

“Afraid?” Frankie scoffed. “I’m almost pissing myself here… I don’t wanna do this. I really don’t. But I’m gonna, and that’s that.”

She gave her little sister a smile.

“If you’re gonna be doing that, I’ll be here when you need me.”

“Inside the museum?”

Frankie shot her eyes up to the sign up above- Ron’s Collection.

“It’s all old Kidney stuff- animation, mostly. If anything happens you can just meet up with me here and we’ll figure it out.”

Her gaze fell from the sign and straight onto her flip-flops.

“Um… you sure you can’t just wait outside the Holofield?”

“If anything happens, you can throw him off better this way. Besides, without me there, you can focus on saving yourself. Again- only if worse comes to worst.”

“I… don’t wanna have to worry about you on top of everything else, true.”

“You can do this, Frankie. He’ll have no idea it’s you. I mean… just look at you!”

The goth chuckled.

“Yeah, here’s hoping. You sure you don’t just wanna stay behind to see the museum, though? I won’t judge.”

“No, of course not. But this way- I can maximize my happiness while I wait for you to return safely, yeah?”

…She chuckled again.

“Okay, okay. I’m gonna get going already then.”

Katie’s lips tightened in last-minute regret watching her sister walk away.

“Good luck!” She shouted out.

Nobody could hear her over the sounds of distant coasters.
