Some pieces of blonde hair were all over the floor of the bloody operating room. Most of it was collected in a ziplock bag, though some would have escaped to the floor.

Shihan was now shaved, scalp very visible. She wanted to access his brain. Yetil picked up the drill. Finally, she can see what this perfect being is made up of.

Shihan opened his eyes once again. The anaesthetic had started to lose its effectiveness. He had been waking up more and more often, but all he’d see was black. Still, he could feel the cold air hitting areas that should never be exposed like that. The leather that strapped him to the operating table. His senses, oddly enough, would be enhanced. He could smell the disinfectant on top of the residue of blood, the back up food she would try to feed him when he woke. He could hear the clink of her metal tools, the soft whirring of the lights.

This time, he felt a lot of the weight off the top of his head gone. He could feel the metal of the operating table, as opposed to his own hair. And the air of the room.

‘You’re awake again.’

Shihan’s breathing deepened.

‘Why are you doing this to me?’

‘Doing this…?’

‘I just wanted to live my life. Why did you ruin that for me?’

‘Oh you mean the surgeries!’

Shihan could discern Yetil leaning in to untie the blindfold. The black cloth fell off his eyes, steadily revealing the side of Yetil’s elated face. She starts speaking in a whisper.

‘I want to know what you are made of, Shihan. Humans are never this nice, never this selfless. I want to be closer to you, Shihan. You are the light of this world. I’ll expose you clean and make sure everyone follows you…’

Before Shihan could yell to get her off of him, she walks to the bench to the left of him.

‘You must be hungry, Hanny. Say “aah”.’

Shihan stared at her.

‘Come on Hanny, you must replenish yourself.’

He didn’t budge. Yetil sighed.

‘I’ll try next time,’ she said, her usually wide perverted smile less curved and her eyebrows unevenly up.
