Rise against the Dust

Moon runs to Hikari and shakes her to try and wake her up. As he is shaking her, he feels as if something is off. 

Moon wonders where is the guy on the phone at, but he chooses to focus on Hikari. He tries to take everything one step at a time. 

A portal of some sort opens revealing Aku no. He looks at Moon and just smiles.

Moon says “Are you the cause of this?” Aku no laughs and says “I didn’t just cause all of this but even more.”

Instead of being baffled by the portal, Moon only sees rage. Moon attempts to break the portal by punching it. His punch didn’t go according to plan and instead goes through the portal. 

Aku no says “Nice try!” Moon gives up and goes back to Hikari.

Moon asks “What did you do to her?” Aku no says “I gave her the same treatment I gave you.” Moon asks in a serious tone “What do you mean by that?” Aku no explains “I injected her with demon blood and she should be ready anytime now.” 

Moon didn’t understand the severity of this but just knew it was bad. He doesn’t freak out. He tries to remain calm. Moon did experience a demon but it was all in his head. He knew he couldn’t help her. All he could do was watch as his little sister that took him in is about to suffer a fate worse than his own.

Hikari opens her eyes but in her mind. Hikari sees pure madness and insanity. She saw things she was never meant to see. She saw things that would drive anyone insane.

Hikari is gasping for air while water drips from her mouth. She could barely process the images and words that she was seeing. She felt like she was seeing the truths of the world.

Her mind, her soul couldn't handle the overload. Both her mind and body let out a shout "We the children of god. Have been abandoned! We are the bastards of Gaia and the thunder one. His might will strike the one born from the Moon. The one of the Moon will steal his treasure and throne."

Moon hears this and felt a bit useless because couldn't do anything but make sure she won't bite her tongue. Moon thought "I can't let my sister die because of me. If I never left her side, would she have been fine? Is it all my fault? Damn it! Why do I always think of myself?"

Moon looks at Aku no and thinks "This bastard is the cause. This insane person. If only I never met him. Would she be fine if I never ran into him?"

Moon turns back to Hikari and says "I will protect you. It may all be my fault, but I will still try."

Aku no says "What a good big brother! You must love her." Moon says "Love... I wouldn't call it that. I just feel like I have to protect her since she is the one who would try to bring me out of that hell." Aku no says "Please tell?" Moon says "Like hell! I would! You don't understand."

Aku no says "How would I? Why would I? I am, just the bad guy here. You know life is all black and black." Moon says "What would you know? Life is black but there is some light. Wouldn't life be too boring if it was all black?"

Aku no says "Black is all I know. Black is all we know." Moon says "Don't speak for me. A dead-looking fish like yourself should let the living talk."

Aku no laughs and says "Maybe that goddess was right about you." Moon turns back to Aku no and says "Goddess!" Aku no says "There is more than one god in the sky." Moon says "Why would a god take the side of yours?" Aku no says "I don't know. Humans love shows, right? The gods would probably like a new one?" Moon stays silent. 

He thought "What do I know? What do I know about gods? What do I know about Astro? What do I know about this world? I know nothing. I only know the slums and the darkness in hearts. I could see the light in her heart. I was so close to her but so far from the truth."

Hikari felt like her brain was about to bust. Then she saw hope. That hope was a star. In all that she saw, the star was special.  The star looked like someone close. Someone like Moon, the love of her life. She reached for that star as it was her only hope. Hikari barely manages to grab the star and it allows her to open her eyes in the real world. 

She blinks then says “Die from dust and be born anew.” Hikari begins to repeat the phrase over and over again then she stops. Hikari stands up and smiles at Moon. She looks him in the eyes and says “Your my little star. The only star in my sky.” 

Moon backs up from her. Moon blinks then Hikari appears right infront of his face. Hikari says “I can’t let my star run away.” She steps on his leg. Usually, Moon wouldn't feel much but her kick has some new force to it. Moon squeals from the pain. This kick immediately bruises his leg.

Moon, now partly frighten by her pushes her away. Moon leaves the room. He tries to run away from her but can’t seem to run. He thinks "Am I going to run away from her again?"

He desperately tries to walk away. Hikari tilts her head at the open door and then says “Your not getting away.” This causes her eyes to turn black and a black liquid to come out of her eyes and mouth. This liquid seems to flow out of the room and chase Moon.

Moon turns back and sees nothing so he keeps pressing forward. Moon feels a wet and slimy feeling on his ankle. He looks down at it and it yanks him then pulls him back to the classroom. Moon tries to grab the classroom door but misses the door. Moon accepts his fate but hears a voice say "Are you going to give up?"

Moon gets hugged by Hikari. She says "Your mine all mine." Aku no says "I have seen all I need to see. I do hope you survive." The portal closes.

A voice says “You're way closer than I thought. Look at yall, leaving me out of the family bond-fest.” A man with beauty that outclasses Hikari. Looks that make Moon look nothing compared to him.

Moon looked at him and instantly knew him. Moon only saw him a few times. Moon knew his back more than his actual face. Moon shouted "Eclipse!" 

Eclipse says "Yeah, I'm here."

Eclipse was the best of the best in everything he did. He is a genius in everything. Eclipse always wore black to match his short well kept purple hair that had streaks of black. His eyes were purple. Eclipse wore a small black leather jacket and black jeans. His shirt was a skull. He had a long belt.

Eclipse says "Need my help?" Moon says "Why would I need help from you?" Hikari says "Eclipse... Eclipse... Eclipse." Eclipse says "You sure, because she looks out of it?" Moon says "Fine help me."

Eclipse waves his hand and summons a silver katana without a hilt. He slashes the liquid slime off Moon's leg and pushes him away from Hikari. Hikari flies into the whiteboard that is on the wall.

Moon says "Thanks but what about her." Eclipse says "Run." Both of them run out of the classroom and down the hall. Eclipse is run faster than Moon. Moon says "Wait up."

Hikari gets out of the broken wall with the whiteboard. She is without a scratch. Hikari silently leaves the classroom.  She walks a good distance from the classroom and says "Find him" in a dead tone.

The black liquid on the floor leaves to get Moon.

The liquid splits in three and goes faster to Moon and Eclipse. Moon turns back and sees the group of them and says "Problem." Eclipse sees this and stops. So Moon stops too. He asks "Why, you stop?" Eclipse says “This does look good. That looks like mutated demon blood.”

Moon says "How do you know?" Eclipse doesn't answer.

One of the liquids shatters to the ceiling, walls, and floor. This creates a wall of black spikes on the walls, ceiling, floor, and everywhere.

Moon asks “How the hell do you know about this stuff?” Eclipse says “Fight. We have to stop it.” Moon says "Ok! Easy, mister sword master with your fancy weapon."

Hikari says “Snatch them darkness.” The remaining liquids split and get a human-ish form. There are four of them. All of these humanoids rush Eclipse and Moon. Eclipse says “I’ll take the right ones. You take the right and try not to die.” 

Moon says “Why can’t you take all, since you’re stronger and have a weapon!” Eclipse says “If I do everything for you you’ll never grow.” Moon says “Yeah like you do shit for us anyway.”

Before Eclipse gets the chance to respond one of the humanoids attacks him. Moon shouts “Fuck! Guess I have to work with this fucked up leg.” The humanoid punches Moon. Moon blocks it and tries to swing back. The humanoid splits around Moon’s hand and then fills that void to trap him. Another one punches Moon from behind.

Moon tries to yank his hand back but the humanoid slime won’t let him go. Eclipse kills his humanoid slimes in one slice and then looks at the struggling Moon. Eclipse says “Why are you so useless.” Moon shouts “Shut the hell up!”

Eclipse runs up to Moon and slimes and slices them in half, killing it. Moon asks “How are you so strong?” Eclipse says “What’s with all the questions?” 

Hikari wasn’t just sitting there the whole time. She was creating a fire downstairs with her weird liquid creature. Both Moon and Eclipse smell the smoke. Eclipse says “We better deal with this fast.”

Moon says “What do you mean, deal with this? You never have been there for us and now you want to magically start caring for us. Just stop your bullshit!” Moon rushes to Hikari as fast as he can. Hikari opens up a path for him to walk through without touching the spikes. 

Eclipse thinks “Why does this idiot have to ruin everything? He is the reason we are in this mess in the first place. Why does he never think?” The path closes behind him. 

Eclipse shouts “Fine! Try and be the hero.” Eclipse throws his sword to Moon. Moon barely catches it. Hikari submerges herself in the black slime. Moon says “Please work.” He slashes the slime, making a hole for him to reach in. He grabs her shirt and then loses himself mentally. He feels like he has been transported. 

Moon sees Hikari crying. Moon was transported into her mind. Moon's body gets engulfed in the black slime with her as Eclipse just watches and hopes for the best.
