Christmas Eve

As days went on, our Winter Vacations finally started. Meaning Christmas was also just right around the corner. Now I was in a big problem. 

"What to get her as a present?" I thought to myself. Since it is Christmas, I need to give her a present. I am sure she will be mad if I don't. But the problem is, I haven't the slightest idea about what to give her as a present. I have never given anyone a present, let alone a girl. I tried asking Mom but she wasn't much help either.

*flashback*

"Hey Mom, what should I buy Kayo as a present?"

"Ohhh! Let's see, you should take her to a hotel roo-"

"Alright! No need, I will think something myself." I cut her off knowing what she was going to say. She jokes around too much.

"Well, she will be happy about anything you give if you put your heart into selecting it," she said as I was leaving.

*flashback ends*

And here I am now wandering around different stores in hopes that I will find something. And what does she even mean by anything? I really doubt she would be happy if I gave her a fishing rod even if I put my heart and soul into it. Yeah, she will fish me using it if I give her something like that.

I sat on a bench in a park to think through the options I have. Stationery? I think she has plenty of it. Bookmark? Never saw her reading a book. Some fluffy soft toy? I didn't see any in her house. Hmm... As I was thinking, a cold blow of air passed and I felt a chill through my body. I don't hate cold but it was certainly getting really cold. I won't be surprised if it started snowing out of nowhere.

"Wait a min... Yeah, I am pretty sure I am right. This might work." I got an idea for a gift so I immediately went and bought it.

"I hope she likes it," I thought as I walked back home in the cold.

"Heeey!! Did I make you wait?"

"No, I just g-" I stood there and my words just stopped. As snow was falling everywhere I was mesmerized by how beautiful and cute she was looking at the same time in that pink sweater and wool hat with her hair down. She usually did her hair in a ponytail so I was not ready for this.

"What happened?" I snapped out of it as she asked me this with her face a little close. How did she get close so fast? Or did I just flew off to my own world for too long?

"N-nothing," I said as I pushed my face away.

"Well, you were still like you saw some ghost." I guess I was. Right then, I noticed something. I guess I was right after all.

"Well, before we go anywhere. Merry Christmas!" I said as I handed her the gift bag.

"Merry Christmas! I guess you didn't forget." She also handed me my present.

"Let's see what you got me." She said and took out my present. There it was, a pair of pink gloves. Even in all this cold, I never saw her wearing some gloves. At first, I thought she might just not like them but she usually rubbed her hands so I thought she might need some. The color fit well with her clothes so I was kind of proud of my choice.

"These are really good and I needed some gloves too. Thanks! Now open mine too."

"Yeah." I took it out and it was a scarf. It was really warm and looked hand-knitted.

"Wait a min... you made this yourself?"

"Yeah." She smiled.

"You really didn't have to do this much but... Thanks! I will treasure this."

"Me too."

"By the way, I didn't know you knew how to knit."

"Yeah, my mom used to do this when she was free so I also developed an interest in it. But she wasn't able to help me learn so I later learned myself." 

"Now then, shall we go?"

"Yeah." As we started to walk I turned around.

"Also... those clothes. They are looking good on you." I turned back and started walking. Because I know I was blushing hard.

First, we went to a cafe to eat. They had a special Christmas Parfait going on and we absolutely wanted to try that.

"It's delicious!" Kayo said as she took the first bite.

"Yeah!" I agreed. It really was very delicious.

"The cafe is filled to the brim isn't it?"

"Yeah. It's Christmas after all."

"Hey, Do you think we look like a couple?" I kind of choked and coughed when hearing.

"Where did that come from?"

"Well, I was just wondering if we look like that even though we are just WeTube buddies."

"Dunno." I guess that is all we are after all. But why was she suddenly asking these weird questions?

After that, we went to eat some food. Yeah, I know going to eat food after dessert is weird but that is why we did this. Then we strolled around as we saw decorations. Visited a mall. Went into the arcade. We did almost everything we could think of. After some time we were on a bridge and the view looked beautiful as all the decorations were reflecting on the clear water. The slow snowfall also highlighted the beauty.

After this, we decided it was time to go home. Soon we were in front of our houses.

"Thanks for today! It was really fun." Kayo told me.

"The pleasure is mine. I also had fun so thanks for spending Christmas Eve with me."

"I am really glad I met you after all," she murmured something that I couldn't understand as she turned around with a somewhat dull kind of look on his face. I noticed her house was totally dark which means her father was still not home. I got the gist of the situation. I called out to her.

"Hey wanna come to my house?"

"Huh?!" I got a little flustered.

"I-I mean like we can play some games and stuff and my parents will also be happy to have you the-"

"Sure!" She smiled with her eyes kind of teary.

"Alright then, Let's go." And we went inside the house.

The next day I had a video named 'Playing late night games on Christmas Eve' to edit.

It was a fun Christmas Eve.
