Playing doctor for the poor worker

When I entered the department, I took my shoes off with the ones Himeno-san was wearing. I saw a clean house, the kitchen was on one side and the center was the main room, with a sofa, a table with some fruits and a TV. I walked to one of the rooms and lay down Himeno-san on her bed. She was breathing pretty heavily. I touch her forehead and feel the heat hit my hand.

—She’s terrible… those eyebags too… she must be working a lot…

I went to her kitchen and grabbed a plate with water, then I searched for some rag. I unbutton the jacket of Himeno-san and leave her with her shirt and pants on. I put the wet rag on her forehead and looked at her.

I take the hand of Himeno-san.

—I’m sorry for not noticing it early…

I took a deep breath and got up off the floor. I went to the kitchen and put the okonomiyaki in the fridge. Then I started to walk around the kitchen. I open the fridge again and close it.

—She… she doesn’t have anything in the fridge…

I took my things and left looking at recipes on my phone. I went to the closest convenience store and bought something to make food.

—Okayu? But I need something more, what other things did my mom make when i was sick… ah, there it is, miso soup, perfect, with these it should be ok… rice, and some bags of green tea, I can eat the okonomiyaki but it will not ok to only eat that… uhm…? Oh, it’s Hana…

—Big bro, have you found Himeno-san?

—Yeah, I did, she’s exhausted, I don’t think I’m going home until tomorrow tho.

—Yeah, I already told mom, don’t worry.

I hang up and leave the store after buying all the ingredients I need and some makeup removal.

After I bought all the things I needed, I went back to Himeno’s-san apartment, and she was getting up.

She was putting her shoes back on and getting up all dizzy with a numb face.

—I need to work, leave me alone…

I leave the things at the entrance while I was getting my shoes off

—No, you need to rest, here.

I guided Himeno-san to her room again and laid it down again in the bed.

I started to remove her makeup with the things I buy, the eyeliner of her eyes was practically gone, so it was all her face that only had make up.

I went to the kitchen and started making the rice, cleaning it and putting it inside a pot with water. Then in another bowl I put the dashi and the miso paste, when it was all dissolved I added some tofu. I clean the kitchen putting the ingredients that were left over.

I took a tray and put two plates on, putting on one some rice porridge and miso soup with some toppings, I took it very careful and went to her room, then I put the tray on the piece of furniture that was beside Himeno’s-san bed, and I make her sit down in the bed.

—Can you eat?

Himeno-san negotiated with her head and I made some silly expressions.

—Ok…

I took the plate with rice porridge and held the spoon.

—Blow the spoon

Himeno-san blew the spoon with very low strength but it was enough to cool it a little. I put the spoon in her mouth and put it out, she was eating so slowly that it was hard to watch. I continued feeding her until she didn’t want more and then I moved out to the miso soup. I made the same move for it. I took a spoon of miso soup and made Himeno-san blow the spoon so it couldn't be not that hot for her.

She took a couple of spoons and I left the plates in the tray. The next thing I did was change the rag for some actual fever sheets and make her take some medicine.

—Now take some rest, Himeno-san.

—Ryoma…

—It’s ok, I’m not going to leave, I’ll be eating something else.

I took out the okonomiyaki from the fridge and cut some pieces, then I served some miso soup.

“This combination is weird”

I eat and then I put a chair next to Himeno-san. I was seeing how she slept, and before I noticed. I fell asleep.

—Ryoma-kun!

Something was moving my body and telling my name.

—Ryoma-kun!

I was opening my eyes and I saw Himeno-san moving my arm as she said my name.

—Himeno-san?

—You finally wake up.

—I should say that.

I rubbed my eyes with my hands and saw her, she recovered her color but she still looked very tired.

—How do you feel?

—I can’t move very well, and my body still hurts.

—Don’t say, you collapsed at the entrance and you have some enormous eyebags.

Himeno-san took her makeup mirror and saw her face.

“I shouldn’t say that”

Himeno-san looked at me with a serious glance.

—Yeah, I thought it would be better.

Himeno-san laughed a bit and stood up.

I put a dumb face and Himeno-san went to the bathroom, I took some things back to the kitchen and left the medicine in her room.

When I came back, I sat down in silence and started to observe.

“Man, I’m very slow… no, it was for the sitatuoin, but this is the first time I’m in a girls room… I didn’t even notice what I need to be worry… man, I’m a complete idiot… calm down, Yukki… all of this is ok”

I looked around and saw the clothes in the open wardrobe, all the clothes on the floor and a lot of things that were a mess.

“Compared to her living room, her room is very messy, she didn’t have time to clean it, I assume… Why did I come back to her room anyway? I could be in the living room”

I stood up and I was about to open the door when Himeno-san opened it. She was wearing a white blouse with black pants and white socks. She smelled fantastic.

—I was about to go to the living room.

Himeno-san glances at her room and smiles awkwardly.

Himeno-san closed the door of her room when she entered and I left. I went to sit down on the sofa and after a few minutes, Himeno-san came and sat down next to me. Himeno-san put her head on my shoulder and I could hear how she started to sob.

—I’m just… I’m so sorry… you were coming to my apartment and taking care of me, making you worry, I’m really a shame of a person, my room was a mess, and you saw saying and doing some embarrassing things…

—Himeno-san…

—Even now I’m pathetic sobbing in your arm, but I just feel so bad… Ryoma-kun, it will not be a bother if you decide to leave now. I'm fine now, thanks, it’s ok if you don’t want to text me back again after you've seen it all.

—Himeno-san!

Himeno-san looked at my eyes with her eyes tearing, I couldn’t help but hug her.

—I’m not leaving, calm down, you still have a fever, so tell me what happened if you can.

Himeno-san hugged me tight, she didn’t have strength to do it properly, but she opened her arms the most she could and started crying in my chest.
