Chapter 5 Never to be the same

Horoshi just sat there not really paying attention or saying much as he was vaguely responding to what the doctor asked by responding simply with a yes or no. This was strange for him his legs felt numb and his brain was a mess of thoughts of what happened earlier that day.

“Ok lets try standing up then” the doctor said to a numb response from hiroshi as he was helped to his feet the doctor ready to catch him if needed. “Please try to walk forward hiroshi” the doctor asked.

Hiroshi did as asked just for his legs to give out under him and be held up by the doctor the shock of what happened visible on his face. “W-what?” Was all hiroshi said as he was sat back on the bed.

“Well it seems you have damaged your muscles and nerves in your legs as you can stand but cant feel or move them, this means you will need a wheelchair and we can attempt to help you walk again by physio therapy but this could take years” the doctor spoke in a saddened voice as hiroshi took in the information responding with a simple thank you before the doctor left for the night after leaving some food for him.

While eating hiroshi started hearing what sounded like singing from his open door which he enjoyed as it made the quiet hospital feel alive in the night, he couldn’t make out what exactly was being sung but it was something seemingly familiar a voice he’s definitely heard before but he couldn’t picture from where.

Without a second thought he dosed off to the singing coming from down the hall waiting for another day to start in hopes thing will continue to improve from here.
