Unexpected confession

When we arrive at the clubroom, there is so much food and drink on the table. But I did not see new members other than us in the room. Is that mean only both of us are new member?

“Saito senpai, why I did not see other new member?”

“Only both of you are new members for this semester. Many new students try to join other sports clubs such as soccer clubs, basketball clubs or volleyball clubs. Our club is not famous.”

“Really?”

“Yes. So, what are we waiting for? Let’s party!! “

Male student who stays quiet before suddenly start talking now.

“Yes! Let’s start the party now! Arima-kun and Minato-san, come and join us!”

“Okay Saito senpai!” both of us replied.

“For the starter, I will introduce myself. My name is Saito Akemi. The club president of Theatre club. I’m right now in my second year and study Department of Japanese Literature. By the way, three of us are in the same class. You can call me Saito senpai or Akemi senpai.”

“I think will continue to call Saito senpai.”

Then, Minami asked Saito senpai.

“So, can I call senpai Akemi senpai?”

“Of course, you can, Minato-san ! You can call me whichever you feel comfortable .”

“Now is my turn, right? My name is Fujimiya Eri. The vice president of this club. You can call me Fujimiya senpai.”

“My name is Takeda Kenji. Just a normal member. I glad that I’m not only male member this semester. It’s really suffocating for only male member were here.”

“Do you really hate that you are member of this club, Kenji?” ask Fujimiya senpai in intimidating way.

“ No! I mean we need to balance the ratio of gender in the club. How can I hate become member in this club with you?” reply Takeda senpai.

“By the way guys, your Fujimiya senpai and Takeda senpai are a couple. So, be careful with that,” said Saito senpai with a smirk.

“I just notice right now but both of you wear couple watch,” said Minami.

“ Don’t worry about us. Kenji and I just started becoming a couple last month. So, how about new members introduce themselves right now,” Fujimiya senpai said to stop talking about her relationship.

“ My name is Minato Minami. First year student and study in Department of Japanese Literature same with Youta. You can call me whichever you feel comfortable with. Nice to meet you.”

“Can I call you Minami-chan? If you feel uncomfortable, I can call you by another name, “ ask Saito senpai shyly .

“With pleasure Akemi senpai!”

Lastly, it’s my turn to introduce myself.

“ My name is Arima Youta. Same class with Minami. You can call me Arima-kun.”

“Arima-kun, can I ask what your relationship with Minami-san is?” ask Saito senpai in playful way.

“I’m also curious about that. I notice that both of you use first names to call each other,” said Fujimiya senpai.

“Youta and I are just childhood friends. There is nothing between of us.”

“Yes. Minami and me just a friend who grew up together since we were kid.”

“I will leave it there for now. One more thing, I forgot to tell you that our club advisor is still on vacation. Her name is Sakura Keiko sensei, “ said Saito senpai.

“This club also rarely joins any theatre competition because of our lack of members. Because of that also , this club nearly disbanded last semester. So, we can just take it easy for now as both of you have become this club member, “ said Takeda senpai.

“I want to ask something. Did everyone here have any experience in theatre?” ask Minami.

“ Eri and me have join theatre competitions when we were in high school before. For Kenji, he wanted to try acting, that’s why he joined this club. For today we have nothing to do. I have add both of your phone numbers to our group. Any information, I will inform in the group. So, let dismiss for today.”

“Noted!”

“Minami, where do you living right now ?”

“ I live with my aunty right now. How about you?”

“ I live by myself.”

“ Oh! Is your house near here?”

“Yes! You can visit me anytime when you free.”
“Oh my aunt has arrive to pick me up. See you again, Youta! I forgot to ask ; did you still use same phone number?”

“Yes! I still use the same phone number. See you again then!”

After Minami went back with her aunty, I was still waiting at the bus stop. Then Saito senpai came to the bus stop.

“ I forgot that both of us live in the same place. Where is Minami-chan?”

“Just now, her aunty had picked her up went back home.”

“Okay then!”

Suddenly both of us became quiet. I don’t know how to continue conversation right now just like this morning.

“Where is Fujimiya senpai and Takeda senpai?” I try to start the conversation naturally…

I hope so.

“Both of them have a date today. If only I have a boyfriend, maybe I also have a date with him now.”

I remembered that when she was drunk the other day, she said that she had broken up with her then boyfriend.

“Don’t need to think much about what I said just now, Arima-kun. You can ignore it.”

“Alright.”

Then, two students who I believe are a couple, come to the bus stop.

“Akemi, is that you?”

Male student look like know who is Saito senpai.

“Wataru? Did you also wait for the bus? Who is her?”

“She is my friend.”

When Saito senpai was talking with these Wataru guy, I notice she started to feel down. What is the relationship between both.

“Hi Saito-san! My name is Akimoto Chihaya. Wataru and I are classmates. I heard that both of you broke up the other day. Is that true?”

Saito senpai feeling surprised with sudden question.

“Stop it Chihaya ! Don’t you see that your question is burdening Akemi?”

“I think maybe this is the right decision. I don’t sure when both of you started dating with each other a month ago. I’m glad that both of you have broken up. By doing this, I can say Wataru also will feel happy,” she said confidently.

“ I just can hold on anymore!! Can you really stop talking!! From earlier, I just wait and see what will happen. Akimoto Chihaya-san, did you not see that your question is bothering Saito senpai?”

I can’t continue to see Saito senpai’s face like that. That’s why I try to stop that Akimoto-san.

“Who are you? Why you suddenly interrupted me?!”

I feel I don’t need to stay there anymore.

“Saito senpai, how about today we walk back to the house?”

“Eh, what do you mean Arima-kun?”

I don’t need to hear Saito senpai’s reply. I just took her hand and took her away from that bus stop.

“Wait, did you hear me? Is that how you treat your senpai?”

“Can you really stop it Chihaya?!! Don’t you see other people start looking at us right now?”

“Are you her new boyfriend?!!”

I really hope that woman stop talking by now. Many people started to look at us. The bus that we waited for almost 10 minutes finally arrive.

“Hear me clearly! Right, I , Arima Youta is her boyfriend! So, I hope that you will not disturb Saito senpai anymore!”

After that both of us left the place when the many people started to gather near the bus stop.

What did I just say now? Did I finally become crazy? I feel really embarrassed right now after what I said, especially in front of many people. Can I come to the class tomorrow? There are so many things in my mind right now that I did not realize I was still holding Saito senpai’s hand.

“I think we are far from the bus stop right now. Maybe you can let off my hand?”

“Sorry Saito senpai! I don’t know what I just said before. You can forget all about what happened earlier. I’m so sorry!”

“Wait Arima-kun! Do you want to have dinner outside tonight?”

“Suddenly?”

“You know, I feel like eating with someone tonight. If you okay with it…”

“I’m okay with it. so where do we eat tonight?”

“There is a good Tonkatsu restaurant around here. Let’s go there.”

When we arrive at the restaurant, there are not many people eating there. So, we can find a place to sit easily.

“May I take the order, please?” ask waitress.

“Can we have two Tonkatsu and two iced teas please?” said Saito senpai.

“Alright, please wait for a while.”

While waiting for the order to be ready, Hiroshi suddenly messaged me.

“Youta, I heard that you do something that really amazing today!”

“What do you talking about, Hiroshi?”

“Don’t need to hide it from me. What you are doing today has become a hot issue. I don’t know you will confess your feeling on your first day in university!”

I forgot that were so many people at the bus stop during that time.

Ring-ring!!

Saito senpai’s phone ringing.

“Who is calling you Saito senpai?”
