Growing misunderstanding

“Who is calling you Saito senpai?”

“It’s Eri.”

Saito senpai answer the call.

“Hello Eri! Why are you calling me?”

“Akemi! I heard that you have got a new boyfriend. Is that true?”

“What did you say just now? Where do you heard about the story?”

“Have you not seen our class group ‘s chat? They are still chatting about that. Anyway ,I will heard the full story from you tomorrow. Bye!”

“Wai-!”

“Is Fujimiya senpai talking about what happened today, Saito senpai?”

“Yes. When I look at my class chat, it full of my rumored new boyfriend.”

“Same with me. I think tomorrow will be hard for us. Why I did those things earlier? I really regretted.”

“Don’t worry too much about it. That’s why you will pay for dinner tonight,” said Saito senpai with playful way.

“Wait! Is that reason you ask me to have dinner with you?”

“Who knows? Just prepare to draw more money later.”

Luckily, I still have money in my wallet. I hope she does not order something weird later.

After ten minutes, our order is finally served. The Tonkatsu that was serve looked really appetizing.

“ Let’s start eating now, Arima-kun?”

“Yes!”

Both of us pick up a knife and fork and start eating Tonkatsu. When I put it in my mouth, the juice of meat suddenly burst up. It’ sweetness and sourness, all nicely combined. I think maybe this is one of the most delicious Tonkatsu I have ever taste.

“Arima-kun. The truth, there are some things I would like to tell.”

“What is it Saito senpai?”

“I think you have known that I recently broke up with someone. The male student that you see with Chihaya earlier, he was my boyfriend. His name is Noda Wataru. He is soccer club president and in second year. He is quite famous among girl students because of his nice looks . We became a couple for a month only. Then, he suddenly asks me to break up with him for one night at the bar. He did not tell me the reason. After that, he left the bar and I cried alone. I did not know how much I drank at that time. I also did not realize Eri have call me several times that night.”

“Is that before you are lying in front of my house that morning?”

“Yes. Until now I still feel shocked with what happen that night.”

“Do you still love him?”

“I don’t know. Should I just give up?”

What should I reply to Saito senpai? Should she try again? From what I see earlier, Noda senpai is not bad guy.

“Let’s stop talking about that. We should eat this Tonkatsu happily. Waitress! May I order mango pudding please?”

“Please wait for a while.”

“Wait, are you still want to eat right now Saito senpai?”

“How can I let this chance when other people pay for me tonight?”

After we are done eating, I go to the counter to pay for the food. I was really shocked when I saw the amount that I need to pay. I thought Saito senpai would stop eating after ordering pudding, but after that she ordered strawberry parfait. I am quite surprised this restaurant has many types of food on their menu.

Before we went back to our own house, Saito senpai asked me.

“Arima-kun, what should we do tomorrow?”

“Maybe I will explain everything tomorrow.”

“Okay then! By the way, thank you for dinner and good night!”

“You are welcome! and good night, Saito senpai!”

I hope tomorrow will be fine.

Today I have a class for morning only. After class, I plan to go the town to buy a new video game that was just released yesterday. When I arrived at the bus stop, I noticed Saito senpai was already there.

“Good morning, Saito senpai!”
“Good morning Arima-kun!”

“Did you have class also today?”

“Yes. This morning I have a class and after that Eri ask me to join her for a lunch.”

“Will she talking about that again?”

“ I think will she interrogate me like police interrogate suspect.”

“May God bless you.”

The bus has arrived. I have make a mistake again. I should know what the consequence after what I done yesterday. When Saito Senpai and I rode on the bus, there were student from same university with us.

“I think the rumor is true. Look , they ride on the bus from same place.”

“I need to look back at the picture again to confirm is that them.”

“Maybe that’s why Noda-san broke up with Saito-san. The reason is the boy who is with Saito-san right now.”

“Really?! I thought Saito-san and Noda-san is a nice couple.”

I can hear everything they say. Wow! Did I just become a bad person.

“Arima-kun, let sit here.”

“Alright!”

When we arrive at the university, some students start looking at us. Really!? How bigger this issue will be now?

“I will go the class for now. I will try explaining what happen yesterday.”

“Me too. Also, maybe we should try not to meet with each other today to avoid any confusion happening again. See you later Arima-kun!”

“See you later Saito senpai!”

When I arrived at the class, Minami suddenly pulled me and bring me out the class.

“What is happen after I went back home yesterday?” ask Minami.

“What is happen yesterday just a misunderstanding.”

“What do you mean by that?”

I explain everything to Minami.
“Is that what happened?”

“Yes! That’s why you need to believe me.”

“So, what you will do for now?”

“I still don’t know how to solve this. I still thinking the solution right now.”

“I will help you explain it to everyone.”

“Really? Do you will help me?”

“That is what friend would do during this time right? For now, we need to go back to class before lecturer come.”

“Thank you, Minami!”

During class, Hiroshi asked me the details of what happened yesterday. I explain to him that all that happens is misunderstanding. He still did not believe my word and assumed it as I was embarrassed to confess my love.

After class was dismissed, I was ready to pack up my things and ready to go the town to buy a new release video game. Hiroshi also asked me to buy it for him as he is busy with his soccer training later. But everything comes to an end when someone comes to my class.

“Can I know where Arima Youta is?”

I really know who is finding me now. He is Noda senpai, Saito senpai’s ex-boyfriend.

“I’m here senpai. What can I help you”?

“Can you have a date with me today?”

I really want to know what really happened to me just now. My other classmate that noisy before starting to become quiet. Hiroshi, who was just ready to go to soccer training suddenly stopped walking.

Minami. Her face just showed how surprise of her when heard what Noda senpai said.

“I think you did not heard me. Arima Youta, I would like to invite you for a date today. Can you accept my invitation? I have something to confess to you.”

“Kyaaaaaaah!!”

I can heard everyone in my class scream just now after hearing that.

Can I just die today?
