Chapter 3 - Connection

“First of all,I would like to thanks you for the meal. It’s quite tasty (maybe because I’m hungry). But,you don’t need to be too kind with me. This is the first and the last time I’ll accept any of your offer. I will throw it away if you do it again. Last but not least,stay away from me please. Sincerely,Asada Hikari.” – that is what written on a piece of paper.

“Sigh,she cant get well together with others.”said Akira. He fold the paper and put it back on his study table. Akira have studied and finish some stuff in class so he didn’t need to do it at home anymore. Akira sleep right after put the note away.

(The waving ocean wave sound. The bird chirping. “Hikari,be careful.”boy voice.“Don’t worry,I’m with him.”girl voice.“Wahhh,it so pretty.”girl voice.“Watch out.”other boy voice. The sound of cars passes by. “Hikari,take care.”boy voice. “Goodbye,see you again. Next time. Maybe if there are next time.”girl voice. )

“Akira,wake up.”Akira’s mother wake Akira up. “Go take a bath. I’ll prepare the breakfast.”said his mom. His mom left the room while Akira take his towel and go to the bathroom. Once done,he go to dining room. “Where’s father?”Akira ask her mom. “He woke up earlier,got a call from his boss. They have something to settle on.”said Akira’s mother. Akira carry his bag and go to his school right after eat.

He enter the class. “Morning,Asada.”greet Akira then he sit on his place. She still doesn’t respond anything. Akira chat with Hateru. “I think I want to work at restaurant we attended before.”said Akira. “Ouh,that restaurant. I think it’s great since they are searching for employers.”said Hateru. “Yeah, exactly. That’s why you need to follow me go to the restaurant and ask for job after today’s classes.”said Akira. “Why me?”ask Hateru. “Just follow me,you didn’t need to apply for yourself. I’ll treat you if you follow.”said Akira. “Count me in if you intended to treat me.”said Hateru.

First class started,Akira focus on the class like how everyone in the class do. On break time,like usual,Akira will gather up with his friends while Hikari get out from the class right when the bell ringing. Akira just watch her and sighing. Second lesson start after their break,even the teacher don’t enter the class because have urgent case but the students silent and study or do task given by their teacher.

Bell ringing. “Now, it’s the time. Let’s go,Hateru.”said Akira. Both of them started to go to the restaurant and leaving the school yard. After a while walking,they have reached there. There’s a person at the counter. They ask him the way to interview and work there during their holidays time. “You can enter the room right behind me. Wait there.”said the staff. Akira and Hateru wait for their turn there.

“You can get out,maybe I may not call you later. Next person please.”woman voice can be heard. “Damn,you want to work here? You didn’t hear someone being scold?”ask Hateru. “Maybe?”said Akira.

Akira enter the manager room. He can see a woman is sitting on her chair. “So,what you wanna do here?”ask the manager. “I want to work here during my summer holidays starting this Saturday.”said Akira. “Sigh,another school boys. What you can do?”ask the manager more. “ I can do everything to make this restaurant a place everyone will be happy,have their memories here.”said Akira. “That’s not answering my question but nevermind. Fill your name and other information here.”said the manager.

After a while,she look at biodata of Akira. “You can call me Miss Konami. You can start working on this Saturday like you want. But,if you can’t make what you wanted to create here,I’ll fired you right away.”said the manager. Akira left the manager room and just silent until Akira and Hateru left the restaurant. “So? What happened in there?”ask Hateru. “Nothing. I think she ask me to come on Saturday. Does it mean I’m accepted?”said Akira. “Yeah,of course. I don’t know how you persuade her to accept you but it’s awesome.”said Hateru. “I think I do nothing but … nevermind.”said Akira. He think something isn’t right with his acceptance. Meanwhile in the manager room. “Hello,Aizawa. You should come here and work here for your summer holidays. I will wait for you. You will not miss this moment.”said Miss Konami.

Akira walk home. When he reach the house,he noticed his father car doesn’t park in the garage. He enter the house and ask his mother. His mother said his father may back home late or don’t even back home. Akira prepare himself,study a little and go to living room. Once the time comes,he go take a dinner with his mother. He told his mother that he will work on a new restaurant right when summer holidays begin.

He stay at living room until his mother want to sleep. He accompany his mother for a meantime. Once his mother fall asleep,he go to room and close his eyes to sleep too. On midnight,he can hear there’s a car parking in their garage. He know his father just back home.

In this modern time,rooster still wake Akira from his long sleep. He get ready to get to school. As usual,he will have a breakfast with his parents,but his father don’t appear again today. “Where’s father? I can hear our car sound last night.”ask Akira. “He have attended his work. He a bit busy this time around.”said Akira’s mother. After breakfast,Akira go to school and in the class,he greet Hikari again even he know she will not answer it.

Same thing goes when classes and break time. The whole day happens like usual days. At the evening,Akira play football with his friends on the field near his house. When they finished playing football,some of them just go right away to their home while others loafing at the stall beside the field. Akira just back home since his house is near with that place. He back home right when dinner time come. This day,his father back home early and can have a dinner with them.
