Its just an indirect kiss.

Recently there was an emergency vacation for the students of Japan because of the extreme heat wave. That was the first time in the history of japan that temperatures reached that high. But who cares about the heat waves, right? They got free vacation, and that's a big deal. They are probably trying to find ways to make best use of their time. While for Yuki, things are not the same...

Although everybody around her was planning on spending the free time by doing various things, Yuki was thinking of one thing,

"Vacation. Vacation means free time. Free time means part time job. Part time job means money. Money means happiness."

People say money doesn't bring happiness. But is it actually true? I guess not. Money does bring us happiness, like for the case of Yuki. She was going to do a part time job. Recently, she had seen a poster about a beach job. The job only requires to sit on a high chair, being able to swim, etc. Yuki has all the requirements. For getting paid just for sitting and doing nothing is a blessing.

Well, that's what she thought. But the thought of the heat wave wasn't in her mind when she was planning that. In fact, it was so hot that she was trying to hold onto her consciousness. The beach was crowded too. She wanted to jump in the water just to cool off. But she can't. Too bad.

She was just sitting and idling her time. She wanted to have some water, but she didn't want to get it herself. There was nobody else nearby too whom she could ask for water. Even when there is the sea right in front of her...

Just as she was thinking that, she saw a very fimiliar face. It was Hiroshi and his friends. Good for him, spending his free time leisurely. But not so much for Yuki. She was thirsty.

"What are you doing here, Yuki?"

"Just as you are thinking. I'm on my shift."

"Sorry guys, go ahead. I will catch up with you later."

His friends agreed to give them some free time.

"First of all, you scars are showing."

"Is that a problem?"

"Isn't it?"

"Not much, really. I didn't know that you had abs."

Hiroshi was wearing swimsuits, and so was Yuki. Yuki could see Hiroshi's abs. He needs those for his 'work'.

"You have water?"

"Yes, why?"

"I need water. Can you give it to me?"

Hiroshi passes his bottle of water to Yuki. Upon drinking the water, she closed the bottle and gave it to Hiroshi again. Now heres a problem. If Hiroshi drinks the water now, it's technically an indirect kiss. What should he do?

Nothing, really. He would just drink it without hesitation. Is there any reason to resist himself from drinking it just because of a simple indirect kiss? It's just too much. But theres one thing that was bugging him for quite a while. And that was Yuki's expression. He knew that she was exhausted because of the heat. She wanted to go to the beach, but couldn't because of her shift. He wanted to help her. But what can he do?

"You should probably go now. Your friends are waiting for you."

"Okay. If you need help, just call me."

"Thanks."

He went to meet with his friends. They were just sitting and talking. They were waiting for Hiroshi. When he comes, they will get into the water together.

"Hey Hiroshi. What were you planning with her there?"

"Nothing, why?"

"I think she was probably like,'Last night was amazing thanks to you.' And you were like,'I am free today's night too'. Right?"

"Its really not like that."

"Enough with the chatting. Onto the main topic. So Hiroshi, how many times did you do it with her?"

"I've told you. Its nothing like that."

"Don't dodge the question."

"Zero times. Happy?"

"No. Hey. Have you seen her without clothes. In other words, have you seen her naked?"

Now, he is in a bad position. He did see her naked many times. So what should he reply?

"No comment."

Everybody was looking at him.

"You actually did it. You've seen her naked."

"No comment."

"You know saying 'no comment' just justifies that you agree."

"Can't we just skip that topic?"

"No. So how was she?"

"Why should I tell you about it?"

Everybody went silent after hearing that. They were thinking that they actually went that far. But who is going to tell them?

As they were talking, Yuuji picked up Hiroshi's bottle to drink. But to his surprise, Hiroshi stopped him.

"What are you doing."

"Can't you see?"

"Give it back."

"Its just a water bottle."

"Just give it back. Go and drink yours."

Yuuj was confused as to why Hiroshi was acting that way. It was unusual. He didn't understand the situation.

"Forget it Yuuji. That bottle is more important to him than your life right now. Because a few moments ago, his precious girlfriend Yuki drank from it."

Then Yuuji understood the situation. Actually, that was the case. Hiroshi was being overprotective. Previously I said he wasn't bothered about it. Well actually, he was, but he was trying not to. Because its just weird thinking too much about an indirect kiss. Its just another person's saliva, what so wrong with that?

Yuki was looking from afar. Its nice that they we're enjoying the vacation. She wanted to spend her vacation like that too. But too bad, she can't. She wanted to talk to Hiroshi more. She was sad that she couldn't. The only time they could talk was before and after school. She wanted to spend more time with him.

Thinking all that was making her exhausted. She was tired. She wanted some coolness. It was hot. Just as she was thinking about all that, she heard a voice.

"Help! Help! He is drowning! Hiroshi is drowning!"

What the heck? Hiroshi is drowning? She didn't know that Hiroshi can't swim. If he can't swim, then why did he went to the water in the first place? He was very far away from shore too. She immediately stood up and ran to rescue him. She got to the water without hesitation and saved him. He still had consciousness. She told him,

"Why did you go into the water if you cant swim? Are you trying to kill yourself?"

"Well, actually I can swim. I just pretended I can't."

"Huh?"

"You looked like you really wanted to go into the waters."

She realised what he was telling her. He was doing it all for her sake. She was flustered about it.

"You didn't have to do that, baka."

[Baka means 'idiot' or 'dummy' in Japanese]

They went ashore. Everything went perfectly. No mishaps occurred. Well, his friends was playing along too. Before going into the waters, he told his friends that he was going to pretend that he was drowning. He told the reasons for his actions. They kindly agreed to his decision. He told them earlier because they knew that Hiroshi can swim. Besides, they can swim too. If he really was drowning, they would save him first.

Even though it was just for a moment, Yuki's body cooled off. It was much better for her. She wanted to thank Hiroshi for doing it. She gave him a can of coke as her token of gratitude. But Hiroshi ain't drinking it all. He drank first and then gave it to Yuki to drink.

"Are you sure of sharing it with me?"

"Is there any problem?"

"If you are not bothered, then..."

They shared the whole drink together. They both could feel something. Some kind of emotion that they had locked up inside their hearts is slowly opening. Is it what they call love?
