2.5 Truth

"Mackenzie, join the student council. You can be my vice president; it will teach you leadership skills and look great on your resume. Why don't you join as well, Kendra? We require a treasurer. “

I truly didn't want to become a member of the student council, and I assumed Kendra felt the same way. However, it would be impolite to refuse Silica's offer, especially after she had helped both Kendra and me so much.

"Sure, let's join the student council," Kendra said.

"Are you sure?" I hesitated.

"Yeah, why not? We have to join a club anyway, and it'll be fun to discuss this world with someone else,"

"I'm glad to have you, Kendra. And how about you, Mackenzie?"

"Since Kendra is joining, I'll join too,"

"Excellent! Mackenzie will be the vice president, and Kendra will be the treasurer. For now, you can stay here in house Silica's. We have many rooms," Silica said, pointing to the hallway on the left. "The rooms in the left hallway are all vacant. They haven't been used in over 300 years, so you might want to renovate them a bit," she smirked.

"Thanks so much, President. I don't know how I could ever repay you," I expressed my gratitude.

"Well, we could always get married. Then we could merge our houses," Silica suggested, waiting for a reaction as Kendra's glass shattered as she held it, spilling water all over the table. We quickly cleaned up the mess and avoided revisiting that conversation.

We explored the house and discovered that it had three main areas. The central hall had seats and tables, making it a great place to gather and talk. On each side were two wings, forming a U shape from above. Silica allowed the 15 of us to move into the left wing, which was noticeably more rundown than the right side. Lastly, a training room was situated in the middle.

Suddenly, a young girl walked in next to Silica across from Kendra. She had a strange appearance wearing a Komani or an old school shrine outfit and to boot her ears… they were fox ears. I couldn't contain my curiosity and blurted out, "Who is that with the fox ears?"

"Hello, I'm Tina Midori, Silica's younger sister. Nice to meet you, call me Tina," she introduced herself giving a cute wink.

"Are you a fox girl or a beast person Tina-San? I inquired, creating an awkward silence in the room.

She pointed to her ears and said, "Oh, these? They're a magical item that gives me fox ears. Aren't they cute?" She stood on one foot, smiling like an idol. "Teehee! call me Tina, no San you are older than me after all."

“This is my younger sister Tina, she will also join the student council as the freshmen representative” declared Silica.

As the day grew later, more students gathered in the great hall. In total, there were 20 of us, with 5 from Silica's house and 15 from my house from all my classmates. We all gathered as Silica was about to make an announcement.

"Hello and welcome to Rynn. If you don't know me, I'm President Silica, or President Midori if you remember me from this morning," she began. "I have some rules that I'd like to discuss."

"First of all, welcome. Secondly, please call me Silica in this world, and President or Akari on Earth. Refraining from using full names to address members of my house, the name Midori is prohibited. Please use nicknames or given names only. Additionally, do not reveal where you live, other than Japan in this world. Adhering to this rule will protect us from the real world and help those of us who wish to keep our identities secret. Approximately 300 years ago, there were makai trails or witch trials in Europe, and anyone associated with witchcraft was persecuted. This is why such information is banned. "Most of you have already understood how you arrived here. By default, your leader or boss is Mackenzie. He is the only one capable of reversing the process that brought you here."

"Leaving this world depends on the time you wake up in Japan. Roughly, it's two hours in Rynn for every hour in Japan. Returning to Japan will happen automatically when you wake up there. You'll come back to Rynn when you sleep again."

Silica concluded her announcement, and we all absorbed the information, preparing ourselves for the unique challenges and experiences that awaited us in this new world.

"Mackenzie and I have an agreement to merge the two houses for now. You are free to choose any room you like in the left hall. As for money, I will lend you some for the time being to support your journeys. However, you will soon need to find ways to sustain yourself financially.

"Let's discuss death. In this world, death is not the same as in the real world. When you die here, it directly affects your soul, causing it to lose memories and decrease your lifespan in the real world. Some wounds can even transfer across realms, so be cautious.

"Lastly, and most importantly, I want to emphasize that killing humans or any intelligent beings, such as elves, beast people, is strictly prohibited. They are not mere NPCs like in games. When they die, they die just like people in Japan. We must respect the sanctity of life in this world."

Silica made sure to address these important points, establishing the rules and expectations for all of us in Rynn. We needed to understand and adhere to these guidelines to maintain harmony and respect within the realm.

There wasn’t much to do. We had a few hours till we woke up back in Japan. We had a wooden clock that had the local time in Rynn and Japan.

The rooms we each received were small. Small bed, desk, and chair and 2 dressers for clothes. The cobwebs and dust were everywhere. It's going take a bit of spit and water to clean this room!

The day was ending with Japan local time being.

6 am and people started vanishing like static. Silica explained it as Fuzzeled in which a person enters and leaves. No physical body is left behind, but your main body stays in Japan. In this world, it's more or less a shell for your soul. Your clothes will also be taken with you.

Just like that, all the girls are gone first. Nothing to be surprised about as they always wake up earlier than us guys. We guys usually stay asleep till the last moment intel we must hurry out.

In the coming days, we trained and stayed in respectfully the same 4 groups. With these groups established, we prepared ourselves for the adventures and challenges that awaited us in this fascinating new world called Rynn.

First Group included me, Kendra, silica (president, Akari Midori)

Second Group contained the Jock group plus Steef and Soro. With Luke leader of the discipline committee, and the jock roup being Ryota, Daiki, Zero.

Third Group being the girl group: Anna student council secretary, Yumi class rep, Haruka sleeping girl, Sara and Rino popular girls, Melody from the annoying trio, Dr. Yukki sensei homeroom teacher, and Tina student council (freshmen representative)

Forth Group being the nutball group: Nakamura part of the student council. Not much information about him yet, Chad and Kyle from the annoying trio.
