Chapter 18:

Preparation and Senior

Love in Real Life Game

Finally the long-awaited day arrived, the day when all the clubs held a bazaar to promote their clubs. This bazaar was only held for one whole day. All the clubs participate in this activity so others consider it like a cultural festival.

Usually, people hate Mondays because school and office activities start again after a holiday on Sunday. But it seemed like everyone was looking forward to this club bazaar.

I walked the same way as usual, Alda looking excited this morning to see our school idol, Ryan, singing and dancing on stage later.

Come to think of it, this is only natural, especially since Ryan is the president of the Sing and Dance Club. They also have so many members that they almost spend half the time of the show on stage.

I'm also confused as to why our school thinks this is a club bazaar that looks like a cultural festival. But this was only exclusive to the club, and also didn't require most students to participate in it.

"Brother, hurry up and get going, Alda can't wait to go to school." Alda said excitedly.

"Alda, you can walk first, why the rush? After all, it's still early, the activities start around 9am, so people are still getting ready." I said while calming Alda's spirit.

We arrived at the entrance of the school. We looked around and saw that the booths were already set up in place.

"Please step aside, we are very busy today, thank you" said someone while carrying boards and iron poles supporting the stage.

"People are very busy today," I said, scratching my head.

"Yes, brother, Alda goes first, see you brother, Eh almost forgot to say something, you have to treat Alda something as a punishment yesterday." Alda said while pointing at me.

"Instead, yesterday we already settled this matter."

Alda left without a word. It seems like that child never learnt anything, so never mind. I entered the school while looking around the booths that were set up.

There were several booths, such as game booths, which were usually set up by the culture club. There were booths selling food, which were set up by members of the cooking club in collaboration with the canteen.

Don't get me wrong since we're a game development club, we also had a stand there.

Eh, where are the people, Senior Takumi, then where is Ayame. The stand was empty, like something was wrong. I rushed to our club room, I opened the door and was surprised to see no one had come.

I opened Lime and checked the group chat, there seemed to be no problem, I sent a message to the club.

"v4ldo: Where are you guys, why is our booth still empty?"

I sat in my usual seat and I opened one of the computers in the club room to check some school materials.

After a while, Ayame walked into the club room. Without saying anything, Ayame sat on one of the chairs and opened her laptop. I took the initiative to ask Ayame.

"Ayame, where's Senior Takumi, he's rarely late, let alone today we have to attend the club bazaar?"

"He said he stayed up all night to finish his visual novel, so he probably overslept today," Ayame said.

Ayame stood up from her seat and walked towards the computer that Senior Takumi often used. She opened the computer and showed the visual novel game that Senior Takumi had just finished last night.

"At least the game is ready, so what now?"

"Why are you asking that? It's not like we have to get ready now, our booth is still empty, you take the chairs from this room, move to the booth, and also take the computer and the big monitor."

"Wait a minute, so what are you working on now?"

"Testing the visual novel and fixing errors if there are any, we're busy today especially since Senior Takumi hasn't arrived yet."

After that, I lifted one of the computers from the club room. Unplugged some cables and carried it out of the room. On the way, I ran into Kazuki.

Kazuki also approached me and greeted me, "Valdo, hey, what are you doing? Do you need help?"

I replied sarcastically, "Wew, what are the farmers doing here, instead of ploughing the fields they're going around the school like they have nothing to do."

Kazuki said with a laugh, "Well, I forgot that I'm still wearing these clothes, your sense of humour hasn't changed a bit, so do you need help?"

"If you insist like that, I can't refuse, yes I need help, can you not bring this computer to our booth?"

"Alright, come here."

I handed over the computer I was carrying and Kazuki took it and left.

"Eh Kazuki, wait!"

"What's wrong, Valdo?"

"Thank you for your help!"

"That's what friends are for, ehe" Kazuki said with a smile and he walked towards our booth.

After that, I went back to the club room and picked up some chairs. I picked them up and brought them to our booth. I looked at Ayame who was focused on testing the visual novel. I hoped that everything would be fine, especially since we didn't have much time left because in 1 hour, the club bazaar would open.

"Valdo, can you help me with this?" Ayame called out

"What's wrong?"

"Does this dialogue make sense, she's saying that she wants to date the main character because the main character asked her to? Is it because the storyline says so? I feel like the protagonist in this game is too bland," she said as she pointed out the mistake.

"Most of the story, I wrote but I don't remember this part, we can't make changes especially with only 1 hour left. Also, Senior Takumi is nowhere to be seen."

"It looks like we'll ignore it for the time being, but make sure you fix it."

"Yes yes, since Senior Takumi is not present right now, can you demonstrate the game later when we go on stage"

"Don't be so quick to judge, have you tried calling him?"

"No, let me call him," I took out my mobile phone from my pocket and called Senior Takumi.

Still no answer, what exactly happened to him. Let's try calling him again, damn, still no answer, where is Takumi Senior? I guess I'll take the role to demonstrate it too.

“No answer?”

"Yes, Ayame, I think it's just the two of us working on it today."

"I've checked the visual novel, it's pretty good, but I don't know many of the basics of this game, mainly because I'm an artist who draws, not develops this game."

“Guess I’m going to prepare the booth then.”

I picked up the club chest and moved it to the booth. We had so many game-related items here, so we displayed them at the booth to attract more students to see our booth.

Big Monitor is installed, now it's time to duplicate the screen to the big monitor. Let's open the game and let's start the Club bazaar.
