He is sorry?

WAIT WHAT?!?! SHUU ANSWERED ME?!?!

Wait, today? Isn't a bit too sudden? Wait, let me tell him that I can't today.

"Shuu, I'm busy today, can we meet tomorrow instead?" Now that I've sent it, it sounds a bit selfish of me, but I really already have plans with Rei-kun. Tomorrow shouldn't really be a problem. 

Damn it, it's been more than an hour and he hasn't answered. 

Ah, man... why does it have to be today? Rei-kun and the others invited me to hang out again today. 

Wait. Shuu asked me to meet at 12. And It's probably only for a short while. That means after that I can catch up with Rei-kun and the others. Yeah! I'll probably only miss the lunch together, so it's all good. Okay, sounds good. 

I wonder why the park though...

I'm here in the park. 30 minutes early. 

I was basically forced to have to tell Rei-kun that I got something to do and that I'll catch up with them. But maybe if both of Shuu and I arrive early, we could finish faster, and I could come to Rei-kun sooner. 

'Kay. It's finally time to know what happened with Miu. 

However, after waiting 15 minutes, Shuu has yet to arrived. Well, it's not yet 12 so, I continued to sit at the bench there and kept waiting. 

Another 15 minutes passed and it was time we were supposed to meet, exactly 12. But, he is still not here. Well, it's not like it's a formal meeting I guess. 12 o'clock was just the approximate time for us to meet. He'll arrive soon. 

15 minutes after 12, and he still isn't here yet. Before I even went out of my home I had a feeling he might have tried to deceive me as an act of revenge. I brushed it off as an afterthought though. But now, I'm starting to believe it might be true. 

An hour has passed and it's currently 1 o'clock. Yeah, he's just messing with me. I'm just gonna go at this point. There's nothing here. I'll just go to Rei-kun and the others. I wasted an hour and a half here for absolutely nothing. The longer I am here, the more I'm gonna make Rei-kun wait.

"Shuu... you jerk. I actually trusted you." I whispered to myself as I stood up. 

"You have no right to call me a jerk you know that."

"W-wait Shuu?! W-where did you come from?" 

"I came from my home, where else?" Somehow Shuu appeared beside my out of no where without me noticing him.

"Shuu, what happened? Why are you this late? You made me wait an hour." 

"I know. I was watching you the whole time."  He answered me like his answer was a reasonable one. 

"W-wait, huh? What do you mean?"

"I was there. Somewhere behind the corner there," He pointed to a road partly covered by a wall. "I actually arrived 10 minutes before 12, but I decided not to show myself though. I was surprised you came early. Not bad."

"Shuu, why didn't you show yourself? "

"Okay, I apologize for making you wait. But, it was a little payback for yesterday." 

"Ah, Shuu, come on... Okay just tell me what's going on with Miu?" I already grew impatient from waiting for him, so I'll just get straight to the point and get this over with. 

"Chill, it's not like we're in a rush. Let's have a walk or something."

Oh my... Shuu, you're wasting my time.

"Shuu, you made me wait an hour here and you're not even gonna tell me the whole situation going on with Miu. You're being a real jerk Shuu." I tried to be strict with him, tired of waiting any longer.

"No, Ki-kun. You're the jerk here," Shuu's tone grew sharper. His eyes stared intensely into mine.

I was slightly taken aback by his sudden assertion, but I still tried to defend myself, "W-what did I do?"

Shuu's expression changed into one of confusion, but one with slight anger and annoyance, "You've got to be kidding me."

"H-huh?" I'm not joking. I have no idea what he meant.

"From the messages you sent to me, I actually thought you changed. But I guess not."

I stood silent, unsure what to say to him this time, nor do I understand what he means.

"Ki-kun you probably want to get this over with quickly right? You probably decided to arrive here faster, so you could get it over with faster and catch up with Rei-kun and the others earlier, right?" 

"N-n- "

"DON'T LIE!" He spoke louder. "Don't even try to deny it, Ki-kun. You wanted to leave sooner. Just like how you wanted to leave Miu sooner to hang out with Rei-kun when she invited you to walk with her that day."

"H-how did you know what happened that day?" 

"Yeah, I know. And I bet you're only here, because you want to know what is going on with Miu and what she told you that day, right? From your messages I even thought there was a chance you actually wanted to hang out and chill with me.

"You don't care about me. You're only here for Miu. You have forgotten about me a long time ago. I waited for you back then. I waited for a time where we could hang out, the three of us. I asked you multiple times, but you always said you were busy. And after some time you completely forgot about me. And the moment we meet again, you don't care about me and your mind is off somewhere thinking of some other person."

W-what is he saying... he's saying a lot of things...

"I thought you actually cared. From the messages you sent me, I thought we could chill and hangout and stuff. But you don't even want to be here with me. YOU're being a jerk, Ki-kun!"

Shuu...

"That's fine. I've already given up on you a long time ago anyways."

Ah, Shuu... I'm s-sorry...

"You're here for Miu right?" I just stared at him as he talked. My mind completely at a loss of words after everything he said to me.

"Fine, I'll tell you everything you need to know. After all, it's not me who's giving you second chance. You've had yours. This is all Miu's decision." 

M-miu?! It's her decision? What do you mean by that?

"W-what do you mean it's Miu's decision?" I gently said those words, trying not to annoy him any further.

"Listen, Ki-kun. Here is what she wanted me to tell you. I'm not gonna repeat my self twice." He warned me. 

I simply gave him a nod to show that I understood him.

"Miu is done with you. But if you are willing to change your ways, then she MIGHT, please note, she MIGHT be willing to patch things up with you."

"What do you mean by changing my ways?"

"Ki-kun, basically right now you are jerk. Your personality sucks and you are doing completely toxic things to your surroundings. So, Miu has a list of things that she wants you to change. If you manage to complete the list then you have a CHANCE to be with her again."

Once again I was speechless. What part of my personality sucks? What toxic things did I do? I tried to question and deny his arguments, but my mind kept directing itself to how I didn't care about Miu and Shuu. 

"And just so you know it was a pain for me to hear all those things."

"Well... what is the list?"

"Well, there's no point in telling you now. You already failed the first task on the list. To patch things up with me."

W-W-What? B-But I didn't know... I didn't know about it Shuu... Surely, t-there's something...

"I'm only telling you all this because I should at least pass her message on to you. Even if you failed already"

Ah... man... just my luck. 
Things are really not going well here...
But now that I think about it, I was being kind of selfish. Two days ago Miu simply wanted to walk and talk with me but I just wanted to get it over with and go out with Rei-kun. 
The same thing today...
I really want to know what happen with Miu...
But I do feel bad for forgetting about Shuu
We were really good friends back then. Now that I think about it, both of us had a crush on Miu. Despite that we were still really good friends, the three of us. He also respected Miu's decision, that she decided to be go out with me. He held no grudges and even rooted for me. 
Despite behaving strangely at times, he's fun to be with. 

Shuu... I'm trully sorry casting you aside

"Shuu, Im sorry... I wanna patch things up with you, please."

"No, Ki-kun, you're just doing this for Miu. You have no intention to be friends with me anymore."

"No, really I do! I feel guilty for being a bad friend! And I'm sorry what for happened yesterday!"

Shuu, I'm sorry.

"No, Ki-kun, you're not. You weren't even willing to help a friend out." 

"I-I'm sorry Shuu, please I really mean it. I'm sorry what happened before yesterday as well. I'm sorry I ignored and left you as I grew busier with Rei-kun and the others."

"I'm leaving now Ki-kun. I'm just here to pass on the message. That's all." Shuu begins to walk away from the park. 

"Shuu, I'm sorry, I mean it!" 

As if my words finally reached him, he stopped walking. His face seemed as if he figured something out. As if conjuring some sort of thought.

"Shuu..."

"Okay, Ki-kun."

"Shuu." Ah, thank you Shuu. You are really a great guy. I'm truly sorry. 

"If you truly mean it, then let's put it to the test." 

Huh? Wait, Shuu, what do you mean? What test?

"Look over there. Pass this test, and I might actually consider your apology." 

Huh? Look over there? Where? What am I supposed to se- 

Oh you've got to be kidding me. The timing couldn't be anymore worse. 

A voice came from the direction the both of us was staring at, "Hey, guys look over there, isn't that Kiyoshi-kun?" 

"What? Ki-kun ♡ ? Where? " 

"Kiyoshi-kun?"
