Chapter 11:

Part 11: Fight Or Flight

StarSpace: Tales Of The Time Keeper

“Looks like someone is just waiting to get put in his damn place, isn’t he?”

I stood unfazed by the chattering of the supposed legendary vampire Vladequin, who also started possessing knowledge of wizard spells from his home world Deveurx. There was an anonymously forbidden book that, with proper training, would allow him to fulfill his goal of wreaking havoc across universes by stealing souls to strengthen himself from becoming weaker in infinite progression. Along the way, he has also considered altering time to play a role in trying to achieve it.

Vladequin has a long quiff hairstyle dyed of black and garnet that matched this tailcoat jacket he wore. His eyes were filled with the colors of a fresh autumn harvest. Lastly, the dress pants and shoes on him were a deep pitch black.

By summoning what was called The Ghost Of Scarlet Spades from the book, he was able to locate this place upon wishing to know which of the closest worlds would offer unforeseen power over everything. As it turned out, this ghost granted him deep information and even details regarding where it was hidden.

“The book has told me about a guardian of limitless power and knowledge of all things in time. Now, I will be able to test that to my benefit,” he said.

Being unimpressed as I am, my awareness of the other four entities could not yet catch sight of them. Still, I knew my job well enough to maintain whatever sorts of trickery were going on.

“Your plan to test will fall short, foolish creature. If you don’t wish to perish a second time, I suggest you leave. Otherwise, nothing of what happens here will offer anything of great results.”

Vladequin laughed at this response while the night air stirred its feelings of cramped desires.

“What a shame really. You’re afraid. Seems to me… That I will have to make the tougher play.”

Upon saying a few cryptic words, Vladequin held out two of his hands which had the index and middle finger closed on each one. He then turned the right one upside down, pressing his exposed knuckles against each other to create what looked like a sideways “S”. That was when a burning cosmic blue kaleidoscopic symbol (similar to this gesture) appeared. This spell was known as the Submission Spiral. It was meant to control the mind of any outlying or opposing force to render them weak and keep anyone in its grasp oblivious of prior intentions. He then added another spell to solidify its protection against time-based attacks or defenses. A blast from it occurred before striking the Time Shield surrounding the shard.

Unfortunately, this move did not work in his favor as he expected it to. Within the tenth of a second, I used the Time Axe to counter his attack by swinging it into him. The blow sent Vladequin flying for a while before I captured this ruthless vampire in a Time Stasis. The bubble prevented any innumerable chances of dissipating, he could only move within its confines.

The vampire tried every spell possible inside of it to free himself…

But none of them worked.
