Chapter 12:

Part 12: Dealer’s Hands

StarSpace: Tales Of The Time Keeper

“How could this be? You had a time-based defense! The spell should have instantly destroyed it with ease!”

Such are the words of an amateur in my eyes. His spell was structured to manipulate reality per one universe after being used and could stretch no further. However, I was not born of this universe. I surpass its creation of all things within it. Same is true of the Time Axe. I knew he would fall short of an ideal strategy. This vampire was experienced, but not enough to understand that he was not made to destroy near omnipotent forces that dictated his own existence.

“I don’t answer for the ignorant. Your actions lead to a punishment Prism will deem irrefutable. In that case, your time is finished.”

As I sent him to The Void, four white luminous blades zipped past me multiple times at an indescribable speed matching mine. While my axe effectively blocked a few hits, most of them ended up being thwarted. A challenge most interesting. Situations like these are why the future now is at most ironic to me.

“I see you have a sort of consciousness about yourself, weapon. With that considered, where is that New Guardian of yours? Surely it wasn’t that degenerate from before? You may as well be doomed if that is true,” I said.

The weapon looked like it was rising up in a threatening stance, ready to attack. That is when it mentioned something that caught me off-guard.

“I have been watching you lately Amethion. There is a compromise I wanted to settle with someone, but my memories for whoever I was supposed to be for, vanished. I was eavesdropping next to the vampire you faced earlier and it led me to the proper conclusion.”

“Of what?” I asked

“To make a deal with you, Time Keeper,” it said.
