Scanning the items

After taking some time to calm myself down, it was time to enter the hellish room again. I want to cremate the human bodies, and see if there is something like a tag or ID on them.

It is not a good news but atleast knowing that, your near dear is dead is better than waiting forever. Atleast, that what I learnt from Lily’s case.

It is important to move on.

So I will hand that ID to the guild so that they can send it to their relative atleast.

I hope its not to someone who I am acquainted with. Thinking so, the worst possibility came to my mind.

Shoving my emotions I mechanically gathered the stuff that seemed useful in the last room. There were some potions, money, torn bags, rotten fruits and weapons too.

But they were all strained with blood. I would have to wash them quite rigorously before using them.

Then I examined the bodies of two women who still had flesh. Its not like these were the only humans eaten here.

The amount of bones here easily belonged to more than ten people.

Looking for the ID of the women was very difficult for me. I was unable to look at their faces.

I am sure I would not be able to sleep tonight. This is the first time I saw a dead body, since I have never attended a funeral before in my previous life.

These creatures are fiends and truly disgusting. I am sure that they would have eaten them and all would have been left would be bones.

There was also the half eaten body in the fourth room. I don’t know why it was left? These creatures are servants of their desires in truest sense.

There was also the case of the two goblins biting each other. What I can think is that this hobgoblin probably horded everything in the 5th room and the other goblins were not allowed to enter.

But when they heard the grunting noises, they too became excited. But since they could not go there, they might have bitten each other in frenzy. Truly disgusting.

I was somehow able to find some tags here and there. I found 2 wooden tags and 3 metal tags, that may serve as ID.

Removing them from the necks of dead was the most dreadful thing I have done till today.

After that I gathered the three dead bodies outside and collected some dry twigs and leaves and laid them down.

I covered them with leaves and twigs again. It took me half an hour to find enough material to completely cover them. I then poured oil on them and lit the fire.

After that I went to the bushes far away and hid there. I am sure some monsters may show up due to smell of burning flesh and I don’t want to be caught off guard.

Some time after that, a few goblins showed up. They were surprised to see a fire burning near there settlement and just stood there in daze.

Some of them went inside too. Right now I am quite disgusted with these creatures and want to kill them all. So I fired arrows at the 3 that remained outside.

One died with arrow in his chest and other two started coming towards me. I finished them off with my sword.

I then went inside after the one who went inside. He was still in the main hall. He saw me enter and came running towards me while growling loudly.

He did a claw attack but it was quite easy to dodge. I then cut his head off with a horizontal slash.

After collecting the ears of all the goblins I killed, I finally decided to leave the place. It was almost 3 pm from what I could tell from the position of the sun and I had not even eaten my lunch yet.

Tired and exhausted I left the forest.

I wanted to take a bath first before eating my food. I entered the town and went to orphanage for a bath. The children were busy tending the farm.

I just went straight to the well and washed myself clean with a soap. I also gave a wash to all the things I collected and my clothes one by one.

Thankfully the sisters were busy so no one saw me washing the blooded things. I don’t know what they might think if they saw me doing so.

Thankfully the well was quite far from the orphanage so I did not scare the children with my bloodied look.

It took 2 hours to properly wash everything that I had collected. After all they were covered in blood and goblin shit and I don’t even want to know what else.

First of all, money. Previously I roughly had total of 6 gold.

Today I collected another 48 gold and some silver and copper. My total is approximately 55 gold.

In these two days I have collected 25 knives, 5 daggers, 3 large shield, 10 spears, 3 swords, 2 hammers, 20 bows, 15 quivers and a large number of arrows.

The swords were just lying in the last room and no goblin used them.

Maybe they were used by hobgoblin, but he was in such a frenzy at that time that he forgot to use it.

Good thing I decided to shoot it first. One who survives wins, I am no knight to think about chivalry.

There are also 23 magic stone that were stored in the bags. They are in various colors and sizes. Blue, red, purple, green, yellow.

But the shape is same for all of them. A regular hexagon like gem, with the centre elevated and sides thinned to form a slope. I scanned one of them

Ok. Most of the things I can understand. Rest I can only speculate.

Like Non rechargeable means that once mana is empty, it cannot be filled and the total mana right now is 1210 in it.

Also does that mean that there are rechargeable types too. And I suppose out of it 40 % of its mana is earth type and so on.

But what about the rest. Will my scan also tell about other attributes if I increase the rank or does it only tells about the ones that are atleast over 1%.

No maybe rest of the stone is empty. Yes that’s it. Its like a battery telling the amount of charge. The rest is either empty or impurities or mana that is of other types.

Also by connection I assume it is probably magic circles that can be connected to it.

That is quite useful to know while making a magic tool. So you can know that what kind of mana stones can be used to charge it.

The stone comes from an Orc, another famous fantasy monster.

Moreover it is dungeon generated. There might be a dungeon in the Ghalia forest . I scanned all the stones.

I have 1 from orcs (green), 10 from slimes (blue), 3 from killer bees (yellow), 8 from goblins (purple) and 1 from giant lizard (red).

The party that was carrying these might be a D rank, as seen from their monster loot since most are E rank. Only giant lizard and Orc are D rank mana stones.

Next are tools. There are lanterns, ropes, a compass, a tent, sleeping bags, some tools that might be used for traps or locks, axes and spades and even some monster warding bag containing something smelly.

Sadly, there is no magic tool here.

There are also 2 leather armor set that has chest guard, braces, pauldrons, greaves, helmet, shin guard, and gauntlets.

There are also 3 leather pants, 2 caps ,4 gloves, 3 boots pair and some clothes sets.

There were other torn pieces of leather armor and clothes too, but I think it would be better to dispose them off.

Next are potions. 2 HP recovery potion, 3 wound heal potion and 3 Killer bee poison antidote.

There were more potions but their bottles were broken and their contents had been lost. The stupid goblins did not seem to know their worth.

The goblins that I met previously were much more cunning and trained. They even had better weapons and armor. They were not crazy like these ones and even used smart tactics while attacking.

Whereas these goblins were just crazy fiends that just acted upon their emotion. They had very low level of cooperation. This may be due to their incompetent leader.

The leader of the previous goblins might have augmented the intelligence of the goblins under him. Maybe because he was a named monster.

Even though their group was small, they were more formidable.

While the hobgoblin leader this time was just a crazy fiend who he only gave simple instructions to his subordinates.

The last thing I recovered from the dead bodies is 5 ID’s , 2 rings and one locket. The rings and necklaces are simple non magic items.

But the locket has a picture in it.
