Chapter 22:
AGONY! The Omnipotent Deity's Dastardly Quest
“Hey asshole, know who Rossini is?” I asked Matteo.
“Why are you- _!”
Before he could finish, I whipped out an electric guitar in the sky and began playing the William Tell Overture. Meanwhile I simultaneously showed my face to Matteo causing him to experience fear.
Before he could utter my name, I simultaneously killed and destroyed all 5 of Gula’s Minute tier Marauders with my dark flame hammer katana of destruction. It was literally whack a Marauder.
“MURAMASA JOUZU!” Matteo screamed as I sent him flying with a middle finger flip.
As the little bastard went flying, I warped in front of Jackal and Ouga.
“Huh!? Muramasa Jouzu!?” Ouga screamed as I warped Zeno to safety.
“Muramasa Jouzu! This time I’ll-Ugh!”
I sent both Jackal and Ouga flying into space with a middle finger flick. Then I killed Alana and Francis the same way as the marauders before watching Ryuujin fight Ricardo.
“You’re an Omni right?” Ryuujin asked.
“Yes I am, though I’m not very powerful,” Ricardo stammered as he struggled to keep healing himself from being crushed.
“Looks like you’re just smallfry then, Ryuujin sadistically smiled.
He then swung back his club.
“OVERKILL HOME RUN!”
Ricardo screamed as his body began to compress as he went flying into space and died. I then destroyed him with my dark flame of destruction evoking a scream from his soul.
Looks like he was a lone Omni that hadn’t formed a pact with anyone. Well, now that I had destroyed him, he was technically mine now.
Lone Omnis were Omnis that didn’t have pacts or have any association with any Omni-Deities. They weren’t beholden to them, though if they were destroyed, there’d be no coming back for them except via an Omni-Deity. They could also form pacts and partnerships, thus erasing their independence from Omni Deities. If they were directly destroyed by one, their soul would become property of the Omni-Deity that destroyed them. Sure, their soul could easily be poached, but they would forever be beholden to an Omni-Deity. Well, sucks for him.
Now we just need to see if Ramona can beat Penelope.
Ramona and Penelope threw punches and kicks.
“I’ve always hated you! How dare you show up out of nowhere, I deserve to be boss!” Penelope shouted.
“You teamed up with the monster who killed the previous boss and Namona!” Ramona yelled.
“So!? Jackal and Invidia-sama recognized my feats.”
Ramona then shifted a gear and flung her heel off her foot into Penelope’s neck causing her to stumble.
She then whipped out her gun and finished off Penelope before sliding back into her heel as I destroyed Penelope with my dark flame of destruction.
Matteo then smashed into a building splattering blood everywhere. He screamed as I cleaned up the mess with my dark flame of destruction. And now Ramona is the only candidate left.
I then finished playing the William Tell overture as I appeared before Ramona with the ring box and all the keys.
“I can open this right now, but figured you’d at least want to do it traditionally,” I snickered as I chucked all the items to her.
She quickly opened the box and put on the ring. She was accepted by it and became the new boss of Familia Panini.
...
Ramona then walked into the Colosseum, as remnants of the other factions gathered to hear her.
“Everyone, I am Ramona Panini, the new boss of Familia Panini. Behold! This ring is proof that I bear Panini blood and am worthy of being boss. I am not asking you to accept me immediately, but I am asking you to acknowledge my authority,” Ramona stated.
Suddenly, helicopters appeared above the Colosseum as Interpol’s elite strike force, Justica, descended into the Colosseum.
Well, now I know what Averice’s plan was. He intended to have all of Familia Panini arrested. His little goon can’t become boss, if there’s no familia to be a boss of.
One of the lead officers descended and approached Zeno and Ramona.
“KAZEROU TSUBAKI! NANAME HOSEN! YOU’RE UNDER ARREST FOR NUMEROUS CRIMES!” the woman shouted.
Zeno groaned as he recognized the woman to be his and Naname’s former classmate, Maya Kuriyama.
Then the leader of the agents, Yuzuki Shimemura turned to face Zeno and Ramona.
“Oh great, it’s Shimemura,” Zeno grumbled.
I figured it was time to make a break for it. Shimemura and Kuriyama were Omnis that had unknowingly signed a pact with one of the more troublesome Omni-Deities. I wasted no time in warping my party and everyone else I deemed worthy to a more secure location, the Panini villa in Ischia.
“What was all that?” asked Kumi.
“Justica, they’ve been after the Panini family for years. Worst of all, their leaders are my old classmates and have a beef with me and Ramona,” Zeno explained.
“Lol, you just keep bringing baggage. First the railgun bastard, now those crazy bitches.”
“I could've taken them,” Ryuujin argued.
“Probably, but then Averice and every other Omni-Deity in this betting game would probably descend,” I stated.
“Oh. Well, do I head back to DC, or do I stick around?”
“Stick around. It’s better having you with me than in DC. Phoenix can handle everything there anyway.”
“Hell yeah!”
Considering the battles would only get tougher, it’d be nice to have Ryuujin as an ace in the hole.
As for the Panini villa, I decided to link it to the mansion, allowing Harumi to join us for business discussions.
“I am indebted to you both for this. So what do you wish?” Ramona asked.
Harumi asked for Ramona to purge the familia of any and all Illumous influences, which Ramona happily agreed to.
I ordered her to let me make Zeno, and one of her other subordinates part of my main party.
“Well, I guess it’s fine if it’s her,” Ramona sighed.
I then gathered my party in the mansion.
“So did you get some good material?” I asked Nika.
“Ugh, that was so chaotic! Miss Ginkawa and I had trouble keeping up with everything especially at the end,” Nika groaned.
“Care to tell me why I’ve been summoned here?” Ayaka growled.
“Because I’ve taken a liking to you that’s why. Relax, Sakura will make sure to spend time with you,” I smirked.
…
We then had a celebratory feast alongside Ramona and her other close subordinates. After that I gazed over the mansion from my mountain and checked the state of the universe. Turns out Acedia ended up winning the bet, though he gave Averice all his winnings without a care. OG sighed in disappointment at the exchange and at me for getting away with my plan. Invidia and Gula were livid though. Gula vowed to send more marauders out, while Invidia just threw a temper tantrum like the pathetic shit he is.
Good thing Ryuujin’s here considering more Omni marauders are probably gonna come after my party now. As for our next move, I think we’ll go sightseeing somewhere close by.
