Chapter 57:

Chapter 53 - A conclusion to crazy school year.

A boring life at school, or maybe....

The last match ended with a defeat although we lost the game, all was not lost because we manage to qualify for the next championship and we already part of the National Championship, and the National Semi Pro league is also with our hands.

I lift my boots and while Amin continued to be part of the Football team. I feel a sense of duty because of someone is supporting me behind, who give me strength.

Melissa give the speech the final year for the Form 5 students

“To all our seniors thank you for guiding us!!” She bowed at the form 5 while all of us bowed at them. The form 5 were inspired and Micheal the leader of the Form 5 give a speech that even I would be inspired

“Ladies and gentlemen, teachers, and my fellow students”

“Today, we gather here not just as students, but as a community united by the bonds of learning, growth, and shared experiences. As we stand on the threshold of a new beginning, I am humbled and honored to address you all on this special occasion, the final year student assembly. These past few years have been a remarkable journey. We embarked on this adventure as wide-eyed freshmen, filled with excitement and a dash of nervousness. We have faced challenges, celebrated successes, and most importantly, we have learned and grown together. The friendships we have formed, the knowledge we have acquired, and the experiences we have shared are invaluable treasures that will stay with us forever. But today, as we stand at the brink of the unknown, we must remember that this is just the beginning. The world outside these school walls is vast and full of opportunities and challenges. Our final year is not just an end; it's a new beginning, a launchpad for our future endeavors. As we step into the next phase of our lives, I want to remind you all of a few things that I believe are crucial for our success and happiness. Firstly, never stop learning. Education doesn't end when we leave these halls; it's a lifelong journey. Whether we are heading to college, entering the workforce, or pursuing other paths, let's maintain our thirst for knowledge. Seek out new experiences, ask questions, and never be afraid to explore the unknown. Secondly, embrace failure as a stepping stone to success. We will face setbacks; that's a part of life. But it's how we respond to those setbacks that define us. Each failure is an opportunity to learn, grow, and come back stronger. Remember, some of the world's greatest successes were built upon a foundation of failures.Thirdly, kindness and empathy should be our guiding principles. In a world that can often be harsh and divisive, let's be the ones who choose kindness. Reach out to others, lend a helping hand, and create a ripple effect of positivity. Our actions, no matter how small, can make a big difference in someone's life. Lastly, believe in yourselves. We have the potential to achieve greatness, but it starts with self-belief. Believe in your dreams, set ambitious goals, and work tirelessly towards them. Remember that the only limits that exist are the ones we place on ourselves. As we bid farewell to our final year, let's do so with gratitude in our hearts for the experiences we've had, the friendships we've made, and the lessons we've learned. Let's look forward to the future with hope and excitement, knowing that we have the knowledge, skills, and resilience to overcome any obstacle that comes our way. In closing, I want to thank our teachers, families, and friends who have supported us throughout this journey. You've been our pillars of strength, and we couldn't have reached this point without you. So, my fellow SIGMA, let's go forth with courage and determination. Let's make our final year not just the end of a chapter but the beginning of an incredible story. Together, we can achieve greatness, and I can't wait to see the amazing things each one of us will accomplish. Thank you, and let's make our final year a year to remember!”

We sang our school anthem, which the Borneo student love the anthem. Mr Rahman wanted to award the success of the SIGMA program to those who achieve such lengths.

Mariam was awarded as the best council service and entertainment, while Amin was awarded the best student performance award. He is crying though.

Sylvia was awarded the best student performance in academics. I’m proud of her. Her dad was there as well.

Hazlan was awarded the best innovation with his LMS system that kick start the SIGMA education program. His parents was overjoy with such awards.

Priscilla has been honored with the prestigious Stalwart Harmony Awards in recognition of her exceptional efforts in upholding harmony within the school. His father is there as well in tears of such awards.

“That’s my daughter!! Hana was also awarded the best primary school sports award for the achievement in qualifying the junior championship in girls Basketball next year.

Mom smile at her. I’m in charge of the handling the event. Mr Marcus was award the boys inspiration awards while the boys from the hostel hold a Hakka for him. Some of them was not familiar with this kind of chant. Mr Rahman even said to me

“This could be our own signature call as well” I could not say more, I join the Hakka to award Mr Marcus. Mr Rahman was surprised although Bakir asked to join them which I love and honoured to join.

I remember the chant that shouted with them. Mariam instantly took a picture of me and the boys that does the chant.

Its the first time we saw Mr Marcus shed his tears. Once we have done Mr Marcus said to all of us.

“That chant…..I’m proud to be a warrior’’

Once the chant is done, we calling the next awards.

SIGMA actually practice awards even the smallest kinds of achievement.

Melissa then makes a speech to them. I head out to pick up some stuff behind while hearing her speech.

“This will not happen if it wasn’t for this person..he did not ask for the rewards because he did not like it…during our enjoyment in school he did not waver behind. When the school is in trouble he was there to giving helping hand. Never once in my life, I seen a person whose act of random kindness give without fail…” Melissa started to cry

“he…is also stupid, he save me and my husband to give a future for my child…he never know that how many people that he save…” what the hell is Melissa is doing? Mr Rahman then approach me

“Alex…you should be there…” I’m not into that kind of stuff.

Melissa continued “what is really happen right now, which path we are going now, is already open for us to explore…because we are SIGMA, we are now in harmony…”

Mr Rahman push me towards the stage where Melissa on her knees crying. I carried her I did not realise what is going right now. Melissa suddenly bow at me. Everyone around me bow, there is not a word just pure silence. Mom was there she was crying while Mariam took that picture and she bow at me.

I did not realise what have I done before would come to this. Mr Rahman said to everyone

“What he has achieve there is no such rewards that could measure for what he has achieved…or what he has commit… therefore Alex…” Mr Rahman and all of the school staff stand there towards me. Suddenly hugged me even Mr Rahim

“Thank you…”

After the ceremony, there is a celebration where music and dance. Its a party of not of sin but of joy, happiness. Everyone was dancing. I really bad at this, but so did Nat about this. I went out towards the top roof of the school. Damn what kind of crazy year that is though, with just 9 months of this change instantly.

All that have to change because I promise a date with Sylvia and something that I need to find out because that file that Mr Tracy gave me have another hidden parts of it, typical of Mr Hawk.

Someone was calling through the phone. A person that I really wanted to talk to

“How school homie…?”

“Damien…sup bro…”

“I finally found it, what about it? You going to join me ?”

“Maybe bro…but school here is fun…”

“Yeah…”

“Homie….”

“yeah”

“Are you sure about this…homie?”

“Yeah….there is no turning back….”

“I surely hope you know what are you doing homie….”

“The wild west…right…homie…”

“yeah….for Darrel….”

“yeah homie for life….for Darrel…we’ll meet again…and this time….”

“Its not a basketball that’s for sure…”

He hung up..my heart is racing, Damien’s timing is really off what a good way pissing me off. Well gotta start quickly. I did brought my bag but do I really need to bring her with me now this happen…yeah I think I have to postpone her date. That place is where Frederica was born from a research facility.

I head to my bike while I’m going to start, someone was sitting behind me and it’s Sylvia

“Do you forget about our date?”

“Uh….hahahaha…” she pinch me and said to me

“I know where are you going…there is not a chance for me to let do this all alone…like some vigilante…”

“Its really far and there is no roof we are going though…”

“As long we have each other.” I started the bike and I asked her

“What about our family then?”

“Siti and Tama is taking care of it…”

“Uh huh….” We head out going out from KK towards Kudat again. But this time I really drive like the wind itself. Sylvia is not afraid this time and she held my back. It least I’ve got company. When at the end of KK border close to Tuaran, I realise someone is behind me and its Mariam and Amin.

“Don’t forget about us…” there goes our date…

“Sorry darling…I told them about our date..because I pissed me off because Priscilla exclaim that she will steal you alongside together.” Uh huh, huh? What the hell?

Another bike this time its Priscilla.

“There not a chance that I will let that bitch play along…” Sylvia give her a middle finger to her.

Looks like another adventure for us.
