Chapter 54 - A dark side of the story

We reach Kudat and Mariam manage to find us a house that she ask her dad to help. Its our temporary holiday home that we plan to stay for a few days. Since school is already over might as well we get this done.

“So might I know what is going on right now…” I explain about Melissa is having scepticism about the Borneo Foundation which they were also involved in most of the event before. And in the centre of it, is my mom.

Sylvia already know about it when she read the files.

“Its not mother-in-law that I’m concern but its about her research.”

Mariam read through the files she is drop it and she saw Project ‘Frederica’

“That name isn’t that….”

“Yep, Frederica….” Amin and Priscilla was in shock as well.

“You mean….”

“Damn….”

The files explain that Frederica is actually a human tested clone, the real original have already died years before the Frederica that I know was born with the same symptoms brain tumour.

“But why it has got to do with you then?”

I explain about the strange voices that he had in dreams. Sylvia supported it and explain to me

“Every time at night I could hear you talking to yourself. You always sweating but I’ve also sense an ominous feeling from you…”

Amin also wanted to share something to everyone and its about me

“Bro, want to know why I fainted that day…because I saw you when you fighting with someone…” he must be talking about Soro

“Fighting?” Mariam did not respond and said to Amin

“What happen…?”

“That face Bro is something I don’t want to see it…but that is something new….” Yeah that trance.

“I don’t think it will happen again…I think so…” I’m not sure about that as well.

But that gloomy situation ended with Sylvia and Priscilla hold both of my shoulder and they smile at me

“Well then babe when that happen…” Priscilla piercing gaze

“We mould you into shape until there is nothing nonsense in that head of yours D.A.R.L.I.N.G….” Shit she is really scary

“Well that’s settle then lets head out to the place then…”

“Its an island..in Banggi Island…”

“Huh?”

“I ask Diana for help…”

“Now wait a second, another island?”

“Yeah…” I know that face she is grinning

“Well then don’t forget about our deal”

“Yeah I know it won’t take long though….”

We head towards at the esplanade, where Diana is waiting for us.

“Uh huh, going to the island eh?”

“yeah…”

We took what we need and took off from Kudat towards Banggi Island. The wind was cold and its dark.

“I just wondering what the heck are you planning going to that island?”

“Just a place there, do you see anything unusual like a building?”

“Huh?…not sure about it maybe I could ask a friend there…!!”

Amin and Mariam is lovey dovey right now I really wanted to kick them off the boat. While Sylvia and Priscilla is still arguing.

“You know what bitch…”

“Its Sylvia, aren’t your parents taught not said bad words…”

“Well then Sil….when its my time with him then?”

“You’ll….maybe not….”

Because they were arguing, the boat started shaking and I had to stop without realizing that I held both of their boobs. I rather not think about it. I guess it's better to just get everyone back on solid ground and hope for the best. I guess I'll just pretend it was an accident and blame it on the boat's faulty engine!

Priscilla and Sylvia hold both my arms and Diana out for blood and said to them

“This is my darling, you know…”

“Wow, a playboy in action….” Mariam

“Bro, if the guys from school found out they will definitely out for blood…”

“Maybe you could help me out of this?”

Along the way we reach the docks only to surprised us, someone is waiting there. Another girl.

“That’s my friend, Marsila she is a local here…”

Amidst in misty island, she explain about our place to relax. This place look ominous but it does have its flair. Try to get positive even though this place gives me the creeps

“Just at this place, we usually provide this place for our guest…” the place seems worn out, as if it never been used for a while.

We set our place to rest a while. Yet this house look awfully familiar. It has the same vibe as my house.

“Hey Diana…”

“yes Darling…?” Priscilla and Sylvia is glaring at me

“Do you have any idea about this place before?”

Diana ask Marsila about it and she explain that people from the main island came a long time ago.

I head to room which is it surprising its has mom belongings!! I open the drawer it look messy filled with papers and I found what I was looking for a picture. Its really is mom and another group of people with her. She wore her scientist robe. But the background I saw something out of science fiction like those ‘bacta tanks’ in Star Wars.

This is mind-blowing for me though. I took the picture and another paper which is a map to the place. Sylvia surprise me

“Is there anything you found?”

“Yeah a map….”

“What are you looking for anyway?”

“A memory…”

“Huh?”

“Just like the last time that I found the flower….”

“……” Sylvia pull my hand

“Then what are we waiting for…let's hurry up….”

Though the others were asleep they look really tired from the trip.

“Looks like its only us both…”

“yeah…” we went out and head towards the place where the map place it. The pathway is close to the house that we stayed. The pathway was abandon, with weeds were growing higher than us, once we reach there.

“Alex…its a warehouse…”

“Yeah….” Signs of the gate is still visible from its time. Sylvia took something from the ground, it's a newspaper article which written Sept 2nd 1981, it's really old about 24 years ago, we saw the entrance of the building which said ‘Sector 455’ Research Division of Borneo Foundation and The Brotherhood of Mason. “Brotherhood of Mason is part of a Christian organisation but I taught its already been disband by the Vatican…” Sylvia knows about this group as well.

The entrance it's a steel door which gain rust, there is no sign of a window from inside. But I used all my strength to pull it out and manage to open it, and enough space to enter the place.

It is pitch black and I took a torch light, reaching there I realise this a research centre only Allah S.W.T knows what lies ahead in this dark places. But suddenly I had flashback and Sylvia hold my arm.

“Is it happen again?”

“Yeah….” It really hurt my head. As if I’m not allowed to enter the place. We carefully entered the place although its not touch and preserved as if they just leave yesterday. We found a power terminal and I pull main switch, to our surprised there is light. Right now is the main entrance where the receptionist desk, that computer is really old. I tried to turn it on and I could see the information about the place.

“Strange place, I never knew that this place exist…” its not suppose to exist. I only know mom is just anthropologist but what I was surprised is that mom is actually a former biologist and cloning specialist. Professor Dr Masnita@Joanna Tagal. It is mom, so that means its true that Frederica is my far cousin… I seek deeper for answer and head to her office. Strange is that this place had some missing parts but some don’t, must be something happen here before.

I went to the CCTV where is found the recordings. Sylvia and me see the footage where mom was there but nothing to be taken noted for until the last 10 mins something happen. Mom was carrying a child along with someone with her. An explosion that means there must be a place. But why no one ever tried to cover this place up?

“This is getting dangerous Alex…”

“I know…” a flash had appeared again, I see myself in a stretcher and mom and someone is operating my body? Or someone else? My head ring really bad, to the point its unbearable.

“Alex!!” Sylvia is terrified and tried to use my phone to call someone… I blank out. I woke up Sylvia is not there, my phone is gone. Must be she is calling Mariam for help. I hear a calling again. It really hurts my head, a voice is calling me

“Lets get out of here!!!” Is that mom?

“Professor Mas, take my child out of here!!!” Someone voice that is familiar is it Frederica’s parents?

“I did not expect they wanted her to be a weapon..” A weapon?!

I walk slowly and reach the place where my memories started, there all the strange vision I’m facing is really here.

“This is what I am…” Frederica?

“what do you mean?”

“Check the tank…” I look closer its Frederica herself, I was shock and fell down to the ground. My head is ringing again.

“Please Alex let her free from her pain…” is this really Frederica?

“No….I promise…”

“She is dying”

The tank where Frederica body or clone suddenly gain conscious and her eyes were the same as mine. She is trying to break free from the glass. My head is ringing again. It hurts

“Alex!! Fight it!!!” Frederica is calling me to fight.

The glass break and she suddenly head to me and tried to choke my neck. She is naked and really strong..I could not breathe.

“Please…..stop…..it…..” I could not feel my whole body, her eyes were bright yellow as light. My vision is blurry only to see someone is pulling her away. And someone is carrying me. Its Sylvia, while Mariam and Priscilla is holding her back.

“Get away from her…..”

“Get out of here!!”

“Bro you alright!!” Once I regain vision I stand up. Sylvia hold me tightly and said to me

“You stupid where were you just now!!!!” She is crying, Amin head back to Mariam to see what is going on.

“Come on we have to stop them”

“Got it…” Sylvia is with me and we entered back Mariam was down and Priscilla was knock over the wall. Amin is trying to protect Mariam while clone Frederica is using her hand like a claw. I block her. And kick her.

The voices again “we have to stop her…”

I fight the clone and carried her while throwing her towards the wall. Sylvia sent a flurry of kicks towards her. But I know that she could not feel it. The clone kick Sylvia and she was knock towards the wall, she had fainted. Damn she is really strong. I had no choice, please save me Allah.

I’m in a trance. And started to fight her. This time she is slower than usual I knock her down and punch her she grab my arm and throw me away, and I use my leg to counter weight and tackle her down. Damn all my friend gotten hurt because of this, its really pissing me off. I took her down, and punch to her gut, she feel it. Priscilla and Mariam regain consciousness.

“Damn she is strong!!”

“Watch it Alex!! That girl is really strong!!” Yeah!! Yeah!! I know!! What the hell am I doing right now. She is stumbling right I took my chance.

“Hit behind her neck!!” Frederica called me and I kick the clone behind her neck and she went out cold. It ended quickly.

The clone look at me and hold my face, she only smile and said

“th..a…n…k…y…o…u…” she had lost her life. That pain suddenly turn memory, I saw everything. What really happen here.

Once we settle down. I carried the lifeless body of the clone and buried her behind the research facility. Mariam took some pictures from the facility but one thing for sure is that something within me is telling me to seal this place.

“I’m going to burn this place…” everyone was shock to hear from me. Mariam hold my head wondering if I’m still sane about it.

“If we start a fire here weren’t that be a huge commotion?” Mariam

“Yeah but….” Alex

“Darling…why do you want to burn this place?” Slyvia

“Babe is there something that wrong about it?” Priscilla

“Did you not realise a killer clone was attacking us?” Amin

“Thats what I mean, we have to seal this place Allah knows what will happen if someone found this place…”

“Yeah…I guess we had no other choice…. But lets get what we need here then…”

I took all the files that belong to mom. And I ask Priscilla to keep as safe keeping for future reference. The memory that was recovered from my mind was how Frederica was born, the original Frederica was only 17 years old. Mom wanted her to be free although she was pregnant with a child without father, an artificial genetic. That part I did not tell them because it getting too much for them to absorb.

“You know what bro, your mom is really amazing having such past maybe that is the reason she is always helping people around…”

“yeah maybe…” we manage to find something that we could burn, and there is some oxygen gas inside. I took a lighter and fire started inside burning everything inside. I really hope it's really sealed inside where no one will find it. We manage to get what we want and return back to the accommodation. Diana and Marsila was waiting for us.

“Hey!! Are you guys found anything?”

“Yeah we did….at least we have done our jobs here…”

“Its still dark, it's not safe to return back right now…” at least we have place to stay, we gather inside for a while. Now the biggest problem for us all, this house have only 1 room and mom former room is really tiny. Dammit, in the end we all ended sleeping in the living room. We manage pull out some mattress and some old pillow for us to sleep. For girls we ask them to sleep on the other side while Diana and Marsila sleep in her house. Since Amin is the only guy here I asked him to sleep in that room and I request him to lock the door, the only one left its me. Looks like I’m going to sleep outside. It's a good thing the toilet has water without it, we would be in a lot of trouble. When I head out, seems the tropical heat is really feeling it. What I don’t realise that Amin is really gunning at Mariam.

Shit!! He is losing it. His nose is bleeding right now. Mariam just remove her clothing leaving her own sports underwear. That is really sexy right now, Priscilla and Sylvia also remove their clothing leaving only their underwear. Shit they really look sexy right now.

I knock Amin out and tied him with a rope throwing him into the room. Dammit this temptation it's too much for him. I found a large blanket and cover them. Well there isn’t any choice for me, I took a comfortable spot outside on the roof, and sleep out. At least I’ve got the view of the skies.
