We Finally Debut?

“Yui!”

I can’t hold my anger anymore. Then, I go to her with my hand ready to slap her. But Haruna stopped me from doing so.

“Yuka! You should calm down! Yui, you need to watch what you say! Both of you should not fight with each other on the first time we met.”

“Right. I’m sorry for saying that kind of word to you earlier, Yuka. But I don’t think you are qualified enough to join this group. Today, I feel I don’t have any mood to continue this practice. See you again.”

“Wait, Yui!” said Haruna trying to stop Yui. But she had already left the room.

“I think I will go back home now. See you guys tomorrow!” said Ana.

Now, it’s only Haruna and me in this room.

“Sorry for the earlier, Yuka. You don’t need to think too much about what Yui said just now.”

“It’s okay, Haruna. But what she said to me is true. I just realize that I join this group only to satisfy my needs without considering other group members. I am so sorry.”

“You don’t need to apologize to us! Other members also have different to become an idol. Ana wants to become an idol because she wants to become like someone she admires since she was in high school.”

“Who is the person that Ana admires?”

“Did you know MiMi?”

“Yes! She is one of popular idol that always show in TV before she involved in car accident last year that take her lives.”

“Ana wants to become like her. Although she is older than us, she never gives up her dream. For Yui, she has different reasons than Ana. She wants to beat her sister to become best idol.”

“Who is her sister?” I ask.

“MiMi.”

Haruna’s answer made me speechless.

“Really?! They are siblings?”

“Yes. That’s why she always practices hard. She wants to prove herself that she is better than MiMi.”

“How about you, Haruna? Did you have your own different reason too?”

“Yes, but I will not tell you now, Yuka. I just follow my quote only.”

“What is your motto?”

“Life without dream just like coffee without sugar.”

“It’s a cute quote for me.”

“Right?! That’s why I always try not to forget my dream and I will make my dream come true in future!”

“Let’s work hard together Haruna!”

“Yes, Yuka!”

Since that day, we have always practiced together. I tried to talk with Yui, but she still ignored me. Sometimes, she looks like Ai. Is it just my imagination? I don’t want to give up. I tried hard to start a conversation with her until one day, she finally replied to me. I feel so happy to know that I can talk with Yui. As I thought, I can’t catch up with my studies at university. So, I decided to drop out from university to focus on my debut preparation. Although dad is songwriter for our debut song, I still can’t meet with him. Never mind. There will be times that I can meet with dad in the future. The night before our debut performance, Yui asked me to have dinner outside. What is this? Did she finally open her heart toward me?

I arrived at the restaurant and found her already waiting for me at the table.

“So, why do you want to have dinner with me, Yui?”

“Just assume this as my apology for what I said when we first time meet.”

“You don’t need to do that! That is my wrong too for not care about other member’s feeling.”

“I want to ask you something, Yuka. Why you still decided to become an idol although you still can’t meet with your dad?”

“At first, my priority is to meet with dad by joining this group. I never imagined myself becoming an idol. When I thought about what you said to me before, it made me feel angry as you are better me. But when I see you guys’ practice, I can tell that you guys are better than me. You guys like music more than me. I don’t want to give up and practice harder than before. Without knowing, the feeling that I lost finally came back to me. It’s been long time I don’t have fun like this.”

“Really? That’s good.”

“Is that what you can say to me?”

“What do you want me to say? You always try to pick on me, right?”

“No! Your attitude toward me sometimes irritates me, Yui!”

“Same to you! You always disturbed my practicing with your weird dance before. Luckily, you much better dance than before.”

“You always order me to bring your water and massage your shoulder. Are you sure you are same age with me? I almost thought you are my grandma!”

That’s how my relationship with Yui is done. Although at first, we were not quite compatible with each other, but now we just like sisters.

Today is the day we debut. The reception is unbelievable. We never thought that our debut song will booming. Our song was rank first place. Is this dad’s power in creating new songs? Haruna and others are so happy with the result. We never expected that we would become popular in just two weeks.

“Congrats everyone! Now we have become more popular. So, do the best for the next time.”

That is what the company director said to us. I don’t want to lose this popularity. Can you believe that when I walk on the street, almost all people recognize me. Now, I know how amazing it is to become a popular celebrity. Ai and Kai also congratulated me for my debut. They have come to see our performances several times at events. They said they are quite impress with my new appearance that make them want to become my fan. I feel so happy hearing that. By the way, our group name is Sweet Smile. We continue to enjoy our success and perform at different kinds of events including holding a concert for our fan. Right. Everyone surely wants to know how the feeling when become superstar including me until I realize if I have make wrong choices in my life.
