Beginning of Nightmare

Five months have pass since our debut. We are now preparing for our second album. This time, the song will be produce by an unknown songwriter. The director asks us to believe him as he has a unique sense in creating new song.

“Yuka! Why are you so late?”

“Sorry, Haruna! I spend my time with my boyfriend that make me forgot that we have practice today!”

Right. I have a new boyfriend. He is from another popular boy group. His name is Satoru. We met for the first time when we performed together at the opening ceremony for theme park three months ago. Now, we have become a couple. But it we still hide this relationship from public as I believe it will cause uproar if we decide to go public.

“Yuka, did you see Yui on your way here?”

“No, Ana. I thought she is here already.”

I thought its weird. As I know, Yui always becomes the first person to come to the practice room. Is she have some problem? Then, Maki-san with a worried look come to practice room.

“Everyone! We have bad news! Yui was involve in a car accident thirty minutes ago! “

“What!!!”

When we arrived at the hospital, Yui was still being treated by a doctor in the operation room. We heard that Yui’s car suddenly lost control, causing her car to hit the guardrail and flip twice. After almost three hours, the operation was finally done. A doctor in charge then asks us to meet him in his room.

“So, is Yui, okay?” ask Maki-san.

The doctor's face showed a mixture of relief and concern as he began to deliver the news, "For now, she is okay. When her condition becomes more stable, she will be moved to a normal patient room. But I have some bad news for you."

“What is it?” asked Haruna with her trembling voice.

“I afraid that she can’t dance like before anymore. The car accident earlier caused her pelvis fracture which can disrupt the stability of the hip and affect her leg mobility,” said doctor after heavy sigh.

I can’t believe what I heard just now. Yui is one of the people that I know likes to dance but she can’t do what she likes anymore from now on. Sweet Smile also can’t proceed to perform without Yui.

After that, we decided to go back home first. Next day, Maki-san ask Ana, Haruna and I to see him. The director will also be present. We were asked to meet them in the meeting room.

“Sorry for today! I know after what just happened last night still shocking for all of you including us. But I have some important news to tell.”

“What is it, director?” ask Haruna.

“Three of you will continue to promote this group without Yui from now on. What I want to say is, Yui will be remove from this group forever.”

“Director, what kind of nonsense did you say just now? How can we just perform without Yui?” I said to the director. I can’t stand this nonsense anymore. Why Yui should be remove?

“I agree with director. “We should just perform with this member only from now on,” said Haruna. What she said just now surprised me.

“Haruna, what are you talking about?”

“Yuka, you should understand now that Yui can’t dance anymore. We need to make this decision as this is only way to continue perform with Sweet Smile.”

“Alright! So, Sweet Smile will have only three members from now on. We will record again all new songs with new distribution without Yui’s voice. So, everyone will have a new part in the song. That’s all from me ,thank you.”

After the meeting, I ask Haruna to follow me to practice room.

“Haruna, is that true that you want to perform with only three of us?”

“Yes, Yuka.”

“How about Yui then?”

“You should understand our situation now, Yuka. As I said before, didn’t doctor say Yui can’t dance like before anymore. Especially almost all our dance involves big movement. If she continues with us, likely she will not hold for a long time.”

“Why didn’t we wait for her to wake up and ask her directly?”

“Is you idiot, Yuka? Why are you so stubborn? We should not waste our time anymore. Until when we should wait for Yui? Doctors have explained everything to us. In addition, we need to start promoting our first album this weekend. Come on, Yuka! Just accept all this already! Right, Ana?”

“Yes. I agree with what Haruna said. Yuka, this decision is right for our situation. You need to understand.”

Understand? How? Can we suddenly discard Yui like that? I don’t want to accept this! I will see the director again after this!

“Where is director? I want to see him!”

“Can you just believe him, Yuka? He has made the right decision for us. Why are you still stubborn?”

“Haruna! Don’t block my way! I have something to say to him!”

Suddenly, the practice room’s door opens. Maki-san directly approaching me and show me his tablet’s screen to me.

“Yuka, look at this!”

“What is it, Maki-san?”

What he shows to me just now was enough to make me faint.

“Satoru is dating a member of a rookie girl group despite having a fiancée.”

“Wait!? Satoru have a fiancée? Is not him dating with you, Yuka?”

“Yes, Haruna. But I don’t know what happen just now.”

“Look here, Yuka! There is an article about you and Satoru having a date at the beach. And picture both of you!” Anna, still in shock herself, pointed at the article on the tablet screen, exclaiming about that.

“Really!?”

How can this happen? I thought nobody would recognize us there as there were not many people at the beach during that time.

“Are you okay, Yuka? You look so pale now. Do you want to rest today?” ask Maki-san.

“You should go home, Yuka. I think its better for you to rest for today. We will try to solve this problem,” advise Haruna.

“Alright.”

I still feel shocked after what happened just now. Why does Satoru never tell me about his fiancée? I can’t think rationally now. I guess I will sleep after arriving home.

At home, Ai who is sitting on sofa while watching television, asking me, “Why are you so early today? I thought that you will end your practice late in the night.”

“There is nothing, Ai. Did you have class today?”

“No. That’s why I take this chance to rest. But I really envy you. You have become one of the popular idols today. How is it feel after becoming a celebrity?”

“Sorry, Ai. I want to sleep now. can we talk again later?”

“Of course, Yuka! Wait, why are you showing on the news? The man with you in the picture, is it Satoru from that famous boy group? Why both of you are kissing?”

How can the news show that picture?

“Satoru has a fiancée while dating Yuka from Sweet Smile. Are you crazy, Yuka? How can you kissing with people’s fiancée?”

“I don’t even know that he has a fiancée!” I said to Ai.

Then, in my social media, there are many people that I don’t know send me a personal message suddenly.

“You should feel ashamed of yourself!”

“How can you date with Satoru? Are you crazy?”

“Did you think with your beauty, you can get everything?”

“Stop dreaming!”

“Kissing with Satoru?! Look at the mirror first!”

“Both of you are not suitable with each other!”

I get many of these kinds of comment after the news about my relationship with Satoru were publicized. I don’t know what I should do right now. But I never thought what would happen tomorrow will become a darkest nightmare for me.
