The wasted treasure

Currently I am inside a bedroom that is inside a catacomb dungeon. I don’t know why would someone come and live here though.

All there is in this room is some furniture, clothes that have degraded with time and a chest.

I need to open this chest in front of me without the key, but the thing is, I have never done such a job before since I was not a thief in my previous live.

If only the Draugrs could have dropped a key or something but that did not happen.

So I took out the lock picking tools I had gathered from the previous goblin ruins and decided to try them out.

I first scanned the chest to look for traps. Then I scanned each tool to find out if it could tell me how to use them.

I also scanned the lock on the chest but it did not help me. The chest did not have any traps so I tried to open it. If nothing works, I would just hammer the shit out of its lock and open it.

Although the lock is quite thick and big but it is already rusty so I think it may open with a few swings.

I tried to open it by a bent metal wire like tool and a screw driver like tool. After trying a few times, it did some click and ticks and it did feel like I had succeeded.

But the lock did not open. Maybe it was stuck due to rust. So in the end I hammered it open.

I opened the chest with a lot of excitement. It felt like finding a treasure chest. But what I found inside was just an old leather book, that seemed like a journal.

It had something like gold and diamonds in my mind, but the book did have something like a magically bound sealing leather strip tied on it.

And at the back of the strip was a pulsating dark magic gem to run the magic and it had yet to run out of magic.

It seemed to be a high quality magic gem and was quite densely packed with mana.

There was nothing on the cover too. Maybe Charlotte san might know something about it.

I scanned the book.

To my surprise its actually a magic grimoire and from name, it probably has something to do with the Draugrs here I am sure.

It is probably necromancy grimoire and has whooping 30 types of magic inside. And it magic can be activated if grimoire is anywhere within 2000 meters of that person with only 0.1 second activation delay and 5 second cool down between using two magic. That is crazy. After all it’s an A grade magic item.

The scan is unable to tell me about the magic it contains but if I scan the individual pages, I may know each one of them but the problem is that to open the book I need a magic chant to do away the magic seal that I dont know.

So in the end I just stored the grimoire in my item box.

I then went to the next room. It also had a similar gimmick to open the door. Inside was again similar setup of room but this time there was double bed with a canopy and room was bigger too. Also this time there were two chests in here.

I scanned and opened the first chest and inside was a blood red colored wand.

I scanned them to check if they were not cursed.

What the hell is this?. What are even these vampires doing?, leaving behind their legendary items here.

I am so excited that I don’t even have the composure to check the other items.

It is made of an elder treant wood that is like a boss level tree monster isn’t it? and unicorn blood too.

So this world has unicorns too it seems. And what the hell is even that mana capacity. Moreover just 1 second cooldown is great too.

Although it has only one spell but since it is occupying 180 circuits that means the spell is definitely some high tier magic.

It may be something like controlling someone’s blood but wouldn’t that mean that the opponent would be as good as dead.

And with that much attack power it might even one shot a wyvern. What do you even do against something like that. I should not let these fall in hands of vampires.

I could not remove the handle of the wand so I donot know what kind of magic stone it had and how much charge it had left. But I am sure that it would be atleast an A rank magic stone of some A rank monster. Maybe even something like a Basilisk or something.

But after getting so excited I realized that I don’t know the incantation for this too, so I don’t think I will be able to use this.

Calming down myself, I decided to scan other magic tools in the second chest that was a black cloak and a hat.

First I scanned the cloak. It was an A class item too just like the wand and was made of skin of thread taken from an Arch Black widow spider and coated with death slime’s skin.

That is a lot of enchantments attached to a single cloak. As expected of an A class item.

The wand focused on a single thing whereas the cloak is more like a jack of all trades and at the same time the percentage increase in magic and the resistances is not bad at all.

Since it increase Blood magic attack power and absorbs light magic, it is just the right equipment for a vampire.
