Game Over

It’s really happening. The day after my relationship and Satoru were revealed, news broke that Best Ever Entertainment Company, or BEE Company, was implicated in a drug trafficking syndicate. The reports were alarming and damning, suggesting that all the evidence pointed to BEE Company as being involved in this illegal operation. Even more shocking was the allegation that the director of BEE Company and Maki-san, a familiar face within the company, were the alleged masterminds behind this criminal syndicate. Other than two of them, there is one more person that is involved in this case - Takahashi Haruna. She is the one who I did not ever expected to be involved in this syndicate. I try to contact her several times, but she never picks up my call even once. Why is she doing this? She is the one who tried to protect our group before but now she destroys everything that we have been building together until now. Same with Anna too. Why can’t I contact both? When I look at my social media, there full of negative comments relating to my relationship with Satoru and BEE Company.

“Right company for right people!”

“I hate all of them!”

“All of the artist under that company are bad!”

“Did they don’t know drug is dangerous?”

“Maybe that’s why Yui were remove from the group several days ago.”

“You should stay away from my Satoru!”

“Satoru should investigate that b**** first! We don’t know if that b**** related to that syndicate with her friend or not!”

All that kind of comment still appear on my social media page. It did not even stop since yesterday. Yui still has not woken up from her comma. Then, Ai just comes out from her room approaching me.

“Are you okay, Yuka? Did you need any help? I know your situation right now is so difficult.”

“It’s okay, Ai.”

“You should look first your face now at mirror.”

When I looked at my face in the mirror, my eyes were red. I look like a person who did not sleep for two days. But that is true. I did not even sleep last night.

“Yuka, I think you should rest for now. if you want the job, you can work as part time worker at convenience store near this house.”

“I will take your advice, Ai.”

Since that day, I decided to take a break from the entertainment field. Three months had pass. BEE Company’s director and Maki-san were punished by imprisonment with work for 15 years and a fine for JPY 5 million. Meanwhile Haruna’s punishment were reduce as she did not involve directly in the syndicate although I don’t know the detail. Day by day have pass. The negative comments about me and BEE Company slowly disappear. The controversy had passed, and my life returned to normal again. Now, I work as a part time worker at convenience store that was suggested by Ai before. The wages are quite reasonable. One day, a man with black suit come to see me at convenience store where I work.

“You are Nakamura Yuka, right? My boss wants to see you.”

“Who are you?”

“I am from Love Music Production or LMP. You know this company, right?”

“Yes! Some of the famous artists are from that company! But is that mean that Kiba-san want to see me?”

“Yes! That famous ‘Kiba-san’ want to see you! Here is the address of our company. You can come tomorrow.”

“Thank you very much!”

I am so happy now! That famous company wants to scout me! When I told this story to Ai that night, she said that I still need to take a break for now. She still feels that netizen’s perception about me has not changed yet. But I need to do something. I will show to all people about my resolution for music.

“This is the contract that you need to sign, Nakamura-san. I am so happy to work with you!”

“Same with me, Kiba-san! I did not even expected that you will scout me to become your artist.”

“From now, you will become a solo artist. It will be quite different from what you do when you in idol group before. For your solo debut, the preparation for it is already began. What's left for now is recording for the song and filming the music video."

“Really?!” I still can’t believe how fast they are doing their work.

“Yes! So, you need to prepare yourself!”

“Alright!”

Right. If only I heard what Ai said to me. If only I thought more rationally about my decision. After the contract was signed, everything changed in the blink of an eye. I can’t even describe how hard it was during recording for the song. I was forced to sing the same part for four hours without drinking any water. I can feel there is no more saliva inside my mouth. My throat hurts so hurt. For filming music video, I was asked to wear underwear only. I thought it was a joke at first but apparently it was the theme for my debut. I tried to ask the director of the music video if I can wear the cloth that more appropriate but he said all of this is Kiba-san’s decision. How can I show myself in the music video with that kind of cloth especially with micro bikini? But I try to steel my heart. I said to myself that these are challenges I need to overcome to success. Right? Is this the right way for me? I decided to throw that kind of mindset. I need to focus on my solo debut. Finally, the day I debut is here. But the reception is not what I expected. My music video, its comments full of criticism. I can say that positive comments are barely there. Why does this happen to me? What is wrong with the music? Some of the comments that I read related to my controversy three months ago. I can see they still have not let me off from that incident. Other than that, they are commenting I look too lewd in that music video and the lyrics that are too vulgar and explicit.

Suddenly, I received a call from unknown number.

“Hello?”

“Yuka, this is me. Your dad.”

“Dad?! W-why are you calling me?”

“Can you come to see me at that famous restaurant that are located near the train station tonight?”

“Okay, dad!”

“See you later, then.”

Finally, I can meet with dad. But why does he wants to see me now. Who cares? If I can see my dad, everything is fine for me. Although my solo debut was not successful, maybe I can ask dad how to improve more.

After I arrived at the restaurant that was mentioned by dad, I was brought to the second floor where the environment was quieter. There, dad was waiting for me at the table near the window.

“I don’t want to let people know that I was here. That’s why I chose this floor as here looks more comfortable to talk. Is that okay with you, Yuka?”

“It’s okay, dad! So, why are you suddenly want to meet with me?”

“Have you call your mom about our meeting?”

“No. I can’t even call her ever since I started to became idol before. I guess she so upset with me.”

“Really? Okay then. Yuka, you need to hear what I want to say after this.”

“What is it, dad?”

Does dad want to write a new song for me after this? Of course! I am his daughter after all! If dad writes new song for me, surely, I can become popular again.

With serious face, dad said this to me,

“Stop acting like a kid and go back home. Never ever doing anything related to music anymore!”
