The Beginning of Madness

"Hero-Sama why didn't we go and kill the rest of the demon children in the village? The King said that we had permission to exterminate them." Thorne asked.

"Yeah, we were too lenient with them, I think," Roflt said while hiding his face behind his stave.

"They had already surrendered Thorne," I stated firmly.

"But they stole from us," Rolft said.

"They're just a bunch of kids Rolft. They have no money or food. We are not the type of people to kill small children for trying to survive." I said raising my tone and sending a glare toward Rolft.

"My apologies Hero-Sama" Rolft slightly bowed.

"Mine as well Hero-Sama" Thorne followed.

"Don't worry about it," I said turning away from them and walking up to our newest party member.

"Claire, will you be alright holding all of our things like that?" I asked.

Claire simply nodded her head. Claire's lifeless eyes trouble me. She is so beautiful, but her eyes are devoid of life. Everyone tells me she is just a demon slave, but I don't care. Why are Demons treated like this anyway? Reading into history from the great library it is known that Humans attacked the demons first. The Demons fought back, but they lost the majority of their territory.

Any Demons outside of the Demonshire empire are subject to slavery and death. About 50 years ago the Grand Vertus Academy was built after a progressive leader of Zellenrode decided they wanted to unite with all of the species of the world again. Sadly, the countries of Warminster, Gatton, and Wien are still extremely anti-demon. Sometimes I just want to take Claire away from all of this so she could live a peaceful and happy life, but I can't.

I was summoned as the Hero.

Why did I ever come to this world? I wish I knew. On my hospital bed, I was summoned to another world. A lot of people would tell me that I am very lucky that I was given the chance to become another world's Hero, but what I have learned is that this world doesn't need a Hero.

"Hero-Sama! Welcome back to Warminster! How was your expedition?" One of the guards said I walked up to the gate.

"ahh, thank you," I said giving a wide-eyed smile to the guard.

"Hero-Sama is so kind and cool to everyone" Thorne fawned.

"Boom" I heard a loud explosion go off inside the kingdom and it was at the palace.

Screeching began to go off inside the city and I ran inside the gates and saw the smoking castle. It had started to become lit with flames.

"Hero-Sama! Should we go?" Ralft asked.

"I'll go," I said firmly.

"What! Hero-Sama let us come with you! We can help, I promise!" Thorne pleaded.

"We are your Royal party appointed by the King himself Hero-Sama," Ralft said.

"No. Stay here and watch Claire." I answered unmovingly.

"Hero-Sa..." Ralft started, but I teleported to the castle's front gate.

"Hero-Sama! You're here! Some masked figures have begun launching attacks on us. They're too strong for us to take on." A Knight bowed to me.

"How many are there?" I asked.

"T-Three..." He stammered.

"Just three of them to cause this much destruction," I thought.

Another Knight ran up to me and frantically made an announcement.

"Hero-Sama! Wiscard is..." He started but began to look to the floor.

"Is what?" I asked bluntly.

"He's Dead"

The first plan of action had gone so well. Rina launched her most powerful explosion magic spell and lit half of the castle on fire immediately. Vasati had gone to kill Wiscard and free the Elvin princess and Rina had begun her job to free the rest of the demon captive slaves they had been harboring. I walked through the halls of the Warminster palace slaughtering any knight I came across.

"Oh, there goes a whole group of them. " I thought.

"It's the monster!" One of them shouted and pointed at me.

"Who are you!" One of them shouted and nervously clutched their sword.

"My name is, Blood and we are Phantom Gloom," I said as I used frost magic to freeze one of them solid.

"What can we do against this monster?" The rest of the knights began to back away.

"Blood! You seem to be having fun!" Vasati said landing at my side.

"Did you free the Elvin princess, Grimm?" I asked.

"Done. She is rendezvousing with Gloom to make our escape." She responded slightly laughing.

"Good, we're out of this trashy Kingdom," I said turning back to the knights.

"Eternal Freeze" I whispered. Turning the entire hallway into Ice freezing everything including the knights.

"Break"

All that was covered in Ice was broken into pieces including the Knights. The magic spell is one of the strongest spells in existence. Eternal freeze can freeze anything no matter the temperature surrounding and by breaking it anyone covered by it will be instantly killed. It's one of my best skills for killing.

"Looks like Warminster is all bark no bite," Vasati said smirking.

"Yup, this was hardly a quest." I laughed.

Suddenly I felt a powerful magical signature approaching us at a speed unfathomable. When I turned, I smelt blood on the figure's body. Whatever that thing was I did not want to be involved with it. So, I grabbed Vasati's hand and teleported us to the rooftop where we were supposed to meet up with Rina.

"Great work you guys! Now let's get out of here!" Rina shouted and transformed into her Dragon form. Her dragon form was full of pink and red scales and had some vast wings. The Elvin princess had already boarded Rina's back and she was very beautiful. Her short golden hair Illuminated the moonlight and her bright green eyes seemed to breathe life into whoever laid their eyes on them.

"On behalf of the Elvin Kingdom I give my thanks to you Phantom Gloom," she said dropping her head in a bowing motion.

Another 9 demon captives were found inside the castle and on the back of Rina. All of them were children under the age of 7.

Once again, I felt that magic signature closing in, but this time it was much closer and there was no way that we were going to escape without dealing with them.

"Gloom, prepare to move, but I will handle our guest first," I said drawing an Ice Sword I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

"They're charging in headfirst without thinking so they must be dumb or emotionally unstable." I thought.

About a half second later I felt the signature get closer and closer until they were right in front of me.

"There!" My sword strike clashed with another sword, but my Ice sword was quickly being severed.

Opening my eyes, I was greeted by the sight of a beautiful woman, Golden Amour, who had beautiful silver hair like mine. Her eyes were white and she was a lot older than I was.

"Who are you!" She shouted pushing her sword through mine until it snapped.

I coated my body with the strongest Ice mana I could muster and took the hit.

My skin continued to burn as I took the hit with my arm.

I jumped backward and stood in front of Vasati and Rina to stop her from getting close to the princess.

"Ahhh so this the power of the Holy sword," I said out loud.

"Blood. She's the Hero!" Rina shouted.

"I'll come to help you." Vasati started to come back over in my direction, but I waved them both off.

"No. Escort the princess and the captive demons out of the city. I will meet you at the same planned location." I said.

"Don't you two let this mission be a waste when we put all of this work into it" I said.

"Fine. Finish this up quickly." Rina said.

"I'm coming back if you take too long, Blood," Vasati said and kissed me on the cheek. Before vanishing along with Rina.

"Are you satisfied now, Hero~? We can have a nice long chat." I said creating another blade of Ice mana.

"What is your name." She asked setting her stance.

"Blood," I responded.

"I will remember it. The first to ever take my sword strike head on." She said.

"Hmmm, you think you're going to win? I haven't even shown you my coolest trick yet." I laughed.

"Blizzard"

I swung my sword and created a strong gust of Icy wind, but she just stood there and took the attack head-on and cut right through it.

"If this is the extent of your power you will have no chance of escaping me" She taunted.

She rushed me with a speed that I could not track once again, but I was confident in where she would attack. She aimed right for my head in an attempt to behead me so transformed my body into blood to dodge it.

This is a form of Blood Magic that is accessible to all vampires, Blood magic is a special kind of magic that allows me to manipulate Blood inside of my body and other being's bodies.

"It's not gonna be that easy to kill me, Hero!" I smirked as I transformed back and jumped away from her

"Light Magic: One Thousand Swords"

Suddenly the sky was illuminated with hundreds of figures of holy swords that came raining down on me.

Now is the best time to escape I'm sure that Rina is at a safe enough distance so that she can't chase them.

Just as the swords rained down on the spot I was standing I slipped into a shadow and pinpointed where Vasati was. It only took a few seconds and I slipped right out of her shadow.

"BOO!" I yelled to spook Vasati as I tackled her. She flinched for a moment before pulling me into her embrace.

"Eira!"

"We almost turned around to come get you!" Rina shouted worryingly

A little bit of blood got on Vasati's cloak which made her worried.

"You're bleeding!" Vasati shouted as she frantically used healing magic on my wound

"It's because of the holy sword. My self-healing couldn't heal the wound. It can't be healed by magic so I'll just drink some more elixirs when We get back"

"I'm glad you made it back safely Princess Eira." The Elven princess bowed her head.

"Wait, How do you know who I am?" I asked.

"Vasati blabbed all of our secrets away the moment we took flight," Rina said snickering.

"I was worried about you OK!" Vasati shouted with a pouting face.

"Don't ever do that again Eira," Vasati said hugging me again with tears in her eyes.

"I won't," I said as I hugged her back.

"Hero-Sama, did the attackers escape?"

"They did."

"I'm sorry about Wiscard-Sama, I know he was your original teacher."

"Who were those masked assailants?"

"We have no idea Hero-Sama. We are aware that they addressed themselves as "Phantom Gloom"

"Phantom Gloom huh? I will kill all of them for what they did. I will not even spare a single one of them when I find them."

"Be at peace Hero-Sama the next time they show their faces around the capital we will exterminate them."
