Chapter 44:

Upper C-rank dungeon

Hacker Class

The group stayed far behind as they watched Sarah Foster enter the Boss's den. After entering the Den, Alden had a look around the dungeon. It was massive, with rocky walls. There were some glowing crystals at various places in the ceiling, and these crystals lit up the interior. On a giant rock, was a lizard like creature. Alden only called it Lizard-like because it looked like a 4-legged reptile, but it was more like a dinosaur then a lizard. Blood sat upon it's sharp teeth, and it's reptilian eyes cautiously watched the group as they entered it's cave. It's scales were grey and they looked hard and strong. The creature stood up, and it climbed down the large ledge it had rested on. It opened its mouth and hissed, and a bluish light shone within. It was a Doom Lizard Boss. The Doom Lizard.A large beam of energy shot out of its mouth, and it lit up the cave as it went on its way toward Alden's group.Instinctively, every person standing there already anticipated the worst, with the Tank already raising his shield to block off the attack.Sarah Foster however, remained amazingly calm. A blue wisp like energy floated through the air in the direction of the energy beam. As soon as it made contact with the energy beam, the beam of energy dissipated."how did she do that?" Alden felt himself grow surprised."with a gravity power?"Alden himself had a gravity skill, but he was still learning the limits of his power. At this point, he could control other objects with gravity, but he had to touch them first. He could also use his kill on himself.Alden watched in awe, as Sarah Foster disappeared, before reappearing before the Boss. She did not have a teleportation ability however, she was just that fast.By the time Alden and the rest noticed her standing near the Doom Lizard Boss, her hand was already swung. A loud sound filled the space, and gusts of wind assaulted Alden's face, all aftereffects of Sarah Foster's mighty punch. The Boss was flung backwards by the powerful attack, and it smashed into the rocky wall. Its body fell to the ground, and pieces of rock fell onto its limp body."What the F-" Prince's loud voice was heard, and Alden just stayed silent at what he just witnessed.Imagine...such power...Alden felt his body tremble with excitement. He could have all that power. His heartbeat quickened.Such mighty strength, all his.A mad smile filled his face."I will have power," Alden inwardly said to himself.Sarah Foster walked back toward the group, she walked slowly and confidently. She wordlessly walked through the space formed in the middle of the group, before walking out of the Den. The entire group simply followed.Once outside the dungeon, Sarah Foster called Alden aside. She regarded him silently, as if waiting for him to speak. Alden sighed."I know what you want me to explain but, can I keep it hidden for a little while longer. I can assure you that sooner or later, I will let you know what's up but..." Alden nervously rubbed the back of his neck."just not now."A frown appeared on Sarah Foster's face, and it was as if she was pondering over something. Alden expected her to tell him to just spill the beans before she crushed him with her mere presence but her response surprised him."Very well.""What?" Alden was baffled. She agreed? Just like that? There had to be some sort of hidden term or something."Join us on your last Compulsory mission." Sarah Foster asked. She no longer sounded scary and commanding, in fact she was asking Alden quiet nicely."Ah, no problem! no problem!" Alden nearly stuttered as he spoke. He didn't want her to change her mind. Then he'd be in a stew. Although Alden didn't like the way he had to bend his knee amongst others, it was all he could do for now. He lacked strength, and with it went any right to stand his ground amongst other who were more superior. He could take a seat for now.Sarah Foster nodded, before letting Alden go. Alden wondered whether she'd speak to Dillon the same way she did with him. Alden however, didn't stay to know. He jogged over to where his mother waited so that she drove him home. After having a good meal at home, Alden sank into bed, with a thousand thoughts running through his head. Amongst them was the thought, of how to distribute his hidden dungeon points.
