#046 Lethal Letter

Detective Merlot inspected the corpse of Beatrice Bonnet which rested lifelessly against her desk. Suddenly, he noticed an unopened letter wedged between the wood and her cheek.

“Quite curious…” He took it and turned it over in his hands. It was a love letter, but not one addressed to Mister Bonnet.

An idea formed and Merlot rummaged through the contents of the desk. All drawers were full except for one… Actually, no, a lonely letter had remained unnoticed and was stuck between the boards. It was an opened love letter addressed to Ms Bonnet.

“I’ve solved the case,” Merlot smirked.
