Chapter 116:

The Falling Pieces of Fear

Wolf Bloodline

After my unbroken silence, she continued to speak in a calm tone through the darkness,

"So you're the kid mentioned. As brave as they say you are, you've come all this way just to save the princess."

She then laughed slightly and continued,

"However, I can only appreciate you for being my little prey, Ryuu."

The shock I felt at that moment was immeasurable. I felt my body get cold just in seconds and felt like boiling water was pouring down my head.

How did she know my name? How exactly she knew, "I" was the one who was going to go there?

"How did you learn my name? Why were you waiting for me?" I asked with a confused voice.

We have just started the war, but having to know, who exactly she was going to face, wasn't something I could wrap my head around. Every single thing she memorized and made a plan for me, so as I thought, became very scary for me.

"Oh, you wonder how I knew?"

She then laughed again, but this time her voice ended with a sighing sound,

"That is so cute..."

Her whole existence, just felt like she wasn't there. But the feeling of her voice, the deepness, and the smoothness of her voice were so outstanding, that I was still able to feel her right in front of me.

"My child, I want you to know that not every move, nor "Nothing", in this kingdom, can be made without my permission. I know where you came from, your background, and what lineage you're from. Every single detail about you, just to know what you are in the core. And you are somewhat an interesting "prey" for me, but still not enough experience to not fall into a trap like this."

She was just standing there, mocking me and talking about how she caught me in the worst way possible.

But I wasn't here to sit and listen to her either. I had to create my own way and take myself up while talking to her and getting her to focus on something else, so I can save Mila.

"Why are you doing this? You have just created a war and killed many people, not only while capturing the princess, but also created a mess on the Island."

"Well, it is a part of my little plan. I was planning to catch just this cute princess that is standing behind you, but it looks like I caught more than I wanted."

"What is it to you? Why did you do something like this, to these people?"

But she didn't reply clearly, she just continued to laugh in evil but a smooth way,

"Oh, darling, you know nothing about what you are getting into. The thing that you are trying to unravel, is much scarier than you can ever think. And even scarier it will be if you get in my way."

She thought I was in big fear. Misunderstandement of how I was feeling and should step back in front of somebody like her. But her thinking style and mindset, weren't something that I tolerated. I wasn't scared, I was just indignant.

"I wouldn't be here if I was scared."

Continuing to mock me, she looked over, tilting her face,

"Hmm..."

So I replied not to keep her waiting,

"What you're doing may not be a bluff, but if I'm going to put an end to your purpose, I'm going to do it as quickly as possible and in the best way I can stop you. And it seems to me that this is exactly where we should end it, and now."

"Oh, no, no, no. You're getting nervous. You put it on top of the situation, to get nervous, it even exceeds it, and you bring out a new type of fear in yourself. You're incapable of a second, to get relax you want right now. And even your body knows it better than you do. Trembling like a coward."

Then she raised her hand and added,

"But what I also want is to naively absorb these exquisite fears of people from them. Until the moment when they feel their ones the deepest."

"Why do you want their fears?"

"Because things like pain end after a point. But fear doesn't have a limit. A spiritual force that no one can hold in their hands. Like a rope without a tip. This is what makes it so special. It makes it so enjoyable to taste. It gives me a reason to show others the real piece of it."

"And fear is a pain caused by the expectation of becoming endangered by somebody or something particular."

"How insignificant that a person like you should say that."

"..."

"Maybe you don't know, but I know what your bloodline does. How do they "stop" the evil, just like you are trying before. And how they dealt with people. I know all their dirty secrets and the things they tried to hide after the war. Your bloodline, Kid, is disgusting. But that is why I like it."

"What are you talking about? What dirty secrets?"

"I was there during the war. And I saw Alpha Prime. The way he tore Yores apart. It was just incredible. Alpha's eyes were shining fearfully all around. And that was the day it happened. The day they gave their final battle, and the day Yores died."

She then took a deep breath and said sighing,

"I wish I was there once more. Just to see that fear. But I do now understand what real fear is like. It is just because of that man. As I recall, they even began to kill and hunt the descendants because they were afraid. They were so scared of him, that they almost fainted even thinking about it."

Alpha Prime. Killed Yores. Tearing him apart.

The more details about the story I heard from her, the more disturbed I became. Having my own and only bloodline, doing all kinds of dirty work to cover everything up, and doing this in a great war that will cause everything to change.

There were so many things to think about, but I couldn't let go of her ideas to capture me. I didn't know it was true or not, so I had to believe what I heard, only the half of it.

"I don't believe you. He was a man who saved many lives. Even more, than we can ever count. And he did it for the only purpose that he can and that was to protect people. So I don't believe you!"

"Not your belief. I don't need that one. But I'm pretty sure you have come across your true nature. The urge that had been appearing inside you. A one that you can not control."

She gave me an evil look and added,

"You have come across one of that, didn't you?"

She had probably known my fight, back in the witch village, that I have been in. I hurt the person in front of me so bad at that moment. Just like her experience with Alpha Prime. But I didn't exactly know what happened too. It was just this course of power that was moving inside me and not letting me do a single thing.

It was taking all over my body and my eyes were closing.

And after that, I usually became another version of myself.

But was it true that she said?

Was it my true nature and I hurt people on purpose?

Maybe I was in an unconscious state at that time. But was it truly my thoughts just going out of my body? Was it just because they were actually my "real thoughts and movements" just gone outside because the chance was created by my power?

I didn't know anything.

Anything that I knew at that moment just turned into a speck of dust and flew outside of my brain.

I didn't even trust myself.

And now she was using it against me to make me think I was the one who was wrong.

But I wasn't going to be fooled by her misleading words.

"Yes, he can't escape. Mistakes or achievements that we have made in the past, we carry in our bodies just like a wound. Will not heal. Only we can choose who we want to be and live accordingly. Just like the general chose you."

After the words that came out of my mouth, the environment fell silent. Her judgmental voice full of haughtiness was completely gone, like it never existed.

She stopped talking and something hit the floor. Creating a single sound.

It was only the sound of a drop falling to the ground that we heard. Although I couldn't see what it was, I was sure it was tears or some liquid that came from the upper floor of the ship. But just when I was going to examine it, a glow appeared from the darkness.

It had a purple color and it came from where The Second Epic was standing and where her voice was coming from.

And after that, the glow got stronger and shaped into a pair of eyes. Eyes that are so extremely noticeable, it was impossible not to see them in the unending darkness. They were wide open, and they were looking.

Right at me.
