Chapter 122:

The Benefits Of Victory: Part 2

Wolf Bloodline

"I know," I said while still trying to open my left eye, which was tired so much not to be opened.

And as we were talking, we both heard some type of sound coming from below us and going toward the upper part of us. From the point where we sat down. But the voice that was being loud and covering around us, was like the other sounds we heard in the battle but much louder and it was approaching.

And when it did, it showed every part of itself, covering the sun from above with its shadow.

With its huge shape and size, it flew right past us with a magnificent amount of sound, and creating some type of airflow in front of us, the thing slowed its pace and decided to stop near us. It had many parts it crushed down, falling out of it into the air, and it's surface rubbing to the wall.

And just as we thought, it was the flying ship that belonged to the captain.

The ship was on the move until it got to the top, when it decided to stop and made itself easier for us to see. I was too badly hurt to stand up, nor to understand why it did while such a big battle went on. I even tried to use one of my hands to push the other, or even lift my body slightly to see around. But nothing was working well. Mila, on the other hand, was not strong enough to fight alone either. She was just desperately trying to help me and tried to keep half of her focus on the ship. In any case, something bad could happen or somebody tried to attack us.

But even though all of that was created in a single moment, in a strange way, I couldn't feel what I felt before on the ship. That dangerous feeling and sensation, that feeling of fear floating in the air and functioning as a thin rope, was nowhere like it ever existed before.

Barlog's strong feeling, seemed to be absent from the ship.

And so on, Mila was looking at me with a flurry, and started talking in a hurry,

"Isn't this Barlog's ship? If he found us here, then what are we going to do? We have nowhere to run!"

"Calm down. This may be his ship, but we don't know who is inside it. Just don't make some type of sound that will gather the attention to us."

And as we tried to be moveless as people and tried not to make a sound, we heard multiple sounds going inside the ship and creating other types of sound.

"I think we could climb up there!"

"Then use that point! We have to look around!"

We looked up and down the ship, and saw familiar faces at the top.

On the one hand, they stood there with the sun on their backs, and their shadows reflected on our bodies in a wide way, and they stared at us to identify us. At first, they seemed to me only as moving shadows, but later, after seeing the relieved expression on Mila's face and squinting my eyes to get a better look, I finally saw who they were.

It was Babu and Hiroshi, standing on top of the damaged ship and looking toward us. Babu was waving at us, while Hiroshi was shouting at us with his thick voice,

"Shall we give you two a lift or would you like to walk?"

I was glad to see them alive again. Just like an honorable warrior, all my respect and proud feelings were getting higher and higher and they were hitting me in the face and making me smile. I was just so contented to be able to have a moment like this in peace. But even though I wanted to talk to them and tell them about the events we were going through in a fun way, I couldn't shout at them because of my injuries. All the bones in my chest were collapsing inward and it was as if they were clenching when I spoke. So I calmly waited there and decided to experience all the good feelings inside me.

After all, we could talk about it calmly now, after a while.

So before long, they threw a rope down and pulled us up, with Mila's support providing me from the shoulder, we got on the ship. My wounds were still hurting and my legs were shaking. However, it didn't stop me from getting up and I was able to get on the ship without any problems. And when I got on the ship, I saw them again. My friends. They were in front of me alive and well.

What kind of wounds and pains, anxieties, as well as fears. Even after everything we've been through, they were here and still wanted to move on. I was grateful.

So on, while both Hiroshi and Babu approached to look at my body, Babu closely looked at my wounds and started talking,

"It's like your wounds got the first aid you needed. The bleeding has been stopped and it's been covered up well. But I have to look again and treat the open wounds correctly and close them. Otherwise, you may get infected and your condition may get worse."

"I have done my healing for him with plants, but he still needs to be given a proper medication." Mila said as she got in front.

Babu then looked at Mila and added,

"Looks like you have done the required things to do. Good job, Mila."

Mila didn't say anything after that. She was just very much shocked by the event but got happy afterward she heard about Babu's words.

"It is just a small wound, I'm fine." I said smiling at him, and getting between both of their talks.

"I wouldn't say that if I were you, Ryuu. The wounds you've received are mostly in your abdomen and this is one of the non-bone areas of your body. So the amount of blood you can lose is still too high, and if the wounds you get are getting worse or went deeper than we think, it can make your breathing worse, cause a heavy blow to your heart, and in both cases cause your death. So it doesn't hurt to be nervous a little."

"Well... At least I can say I have done those all."

*sigh* "Then that means you need much more medical help and education than I thought. But I'm here and gladly would help!" He replied just as smiling like me.

After we looked at each other a little and smiled, I now left myself to Babu. To take care of me and heal these wounds, I was just breathing there heavily and was trying to keep my focus on my thoughts to ease the pain. After all, he was the only person there who could help me medically, and I couldn't wait for this pain in my chest to go away.

So I tried to be as calm as possible, laid down, and curiously turned my head to Hiroshi. I had a lot on my mind that I wanted to ask. Things that I wanted to talk about, beforehand something bad happened and I couldn't tell him. I just knew and felt like something sooner or later would come after us, just like Miron trying to find me. Something much greater and dangerous.

But even in such a situation, I tried to keep my emotions not to getting in my way and making me give commands that wouldn't make any sense. So I knew that I had to say what I had to say, not what I wanted to say, and just opened my mouth to talk with him.

"We also succeeded in this mission too, Hiroshi. These people are safe now. And we stopped the people we were supposed to stop. This, of course, happened because we all did it together. We did it together."

"It is all funny and joyful that you are happy, Kid. I'm actually amazed just as you are that I'm here in one piece. But not to keep it in myself and make this dumber, you and I both know that nothing had come to an end. We have defeated all of these people, but only because they were in our path and we had to. We may have helped people just like you wanted, but still more is there to come. Waiting far away, and who knows how strong they are, they are just waiting like rattlesnakes to bite us and tear us down. I'm not that fired up to meet them, but I am sure as hell they are ready for it."

"Well, at least I showed you what I promised right?" I said, remembering the very first moment I met him and the things I promised to keep.

It was far too long, like it felt and the memories we had with each other. Maybe we weren't at the end of anything, but at last, we have helped various people and got on to the things that we promised to catch and chase. We were here to help people, destroy the evil that captured them, and restore peace like it was never going to go away again. So to my thought and belief, I believed strongly in the courageous people that I had with me and the acts they have implemented upon those desperate and powerless people.

We had done things to get us on the thing that we were going to. And with Mila's journey, we remembered once more what we had to do.

So on Hiroshi replied, just with a slight smile that we couldn't see often,

"You sure did, Kid. You sure did."

And just to my inner thoughts, they were the people, that I could call "family."
