Chapter 276:

Crystal's Durability (Shou)

Wolf Bloodline

After Wedan's attack, the paladins fought back, but part of the palace was destroyed. As the floor collapsed beneath us, I jumped out of the nearby window to prevent a surprise attack from the paladins. I hoped that by attacking them unexpectedly from the outside, I could help my allies. But things didn't work out the way I thought they would.

As I jumped out the window, a paladin followed me. I was surprised by how quickly he moved over the collapsing floor. In mid-air, he swung his sword at me from behind. I countered with my sword and we clashed as we fell towards the ground.

The paladin's sword was made entirely of crystal. I wasn't sure if it was magical, but I could feel its defensive power. When we were close to the ground, the paladin swung his sword with great force. I blocked the blow with my sword but landed hard on the ground. Even though he was floating in the air, he was able to swing his sword very strongly.

The paladin was on top of me, pointing his sword at me and falling fast. I dodged his attack by rolling back, but the blow shattered the ground. So much so that even though I had fled backwards, I was shaken by the impact of the blow.

The Knight was strong and fast. He seemed to be quite different from the other knights, because I had seen this man as the only knight with a sword in his hand. I had never seen the knight's sword posture anywhere before, and like his sword, it was quite different.

After jumping out of the window, we landed in the palace garden. I tried to develop a strategy to attack my opponent, but he swung his sword from a distance. The huge crystals coming out of the ground were rapidly approaching me as targets. I jumped and somersaulted backwards to dodge them. Apparently, this was another feature of the sword.

When I landed, the knight swung his sword at me again from close range. I couldn't dodge this attack by jumping, so I tried to stop the crystal with my sword. The crystal was hard like a diamond and I could barely stop the attack. So much so that for a moment I thought my katana was broken.

The paladin took advantage of this and rushed at me, swinging his sword. I blocked his sword with mine and had to throw myself back again. It was as difficult to withstand the pressure of his sword as it was to withstand his crystal.

My sword had no effect on his attacks. Even with my damaged armor, I wasn't sure I would be strong enough to withstand such a powerful enemy. But in spite of everything, even if it was my last battle if necessary, I would not give up trying.

During the battle, I used both my sword and Kusarigama to fight the enemy. However, he managed to block all my attacks and countered with powerful blows. Kusarigama was not very durable than my sword, and one or two crystal attacks could cause the kusarigama to disintegrate. So I was trying to use my kusarigama for as close attacks as possible.

At one point, I got as close as possible to the paladin and swung my sword at him. When he blocked it with his sword, I swung my Kusarigama at him in surprise. It was risky to be so close to such a powerful enemy, but I had to use every tactic and weapon at my disposal.

The Knight noticed the Kusarigama approaching and pulled back slightly while continuing to press his sword. As I retreated under the pressure, he quickly drew back his sword and swung it at me again. Crystals emerged from the ground and threw me back. I didn't get too much damage from the attack.

As I regained my balance, I shook my Kusarigama and threw it at the enemy. The Knight reached out to stop it but his arm was wrapped in chains. I thought I could pull him towards me for an unexpected attack, but he pulled the chains with great strength and threw a hard knee into my stomach.

The impact knocked me to my knees. As he swung his sword at me, I did a backflip to dodge it and the crystals on the ground.

The paladin tried to pull me towards him by grabbing the chains of my Kusarigama. This time, I held my sword back and threw my shoulder forward to make a quick attack. I managed to land a blow to his stomach.

The impact made the paladin release the Kusargama's chain and stumble back slightly. However, he didn't seem to have taken any damage.

As he regained his balance and ran towards me to attack, I knew I had to stay away from the crystals. He swung his sword again and sent powerful crystals towards me. Instead of retreating, I took a long leap away from the crystals and aimed both my Kusargama and sword at the paladin.

He gripped his sword with both hands and countered my attack, pushing me to one side. Crystals flew towards me from the corners as he swung his sword.

I dodged the crystals and continued my melee attacks. I used all my strength to stay on the offensive with my weapons. Every time our swords clashed, powerful waves emerged. When I saw an opening for the enemy, I swung my Kusarigama towards it, but the enemy had managed to dodge the attack without difficulty by dashing backwards.

Even the sparks of lightning from my weapons were no match for the enemy's crystals. Although I attacked several times, it was almost impossible to catch the paladin off guard.

Despite the passage of time, I hadn't made any progress. I wondered how the others were doing, especially against such powerful enemies.

I could feel the pain in my body, but I was determined to stay standing.
