Chapter 277:

The Sand And Ice Duel (Wedan)

Wolf Bloodline

In the face of an impending massive attack, I tried to protect the others by using my ice powers. However, as a result of the collision of our forces, part of the palace collapsed and we were all scattered. It was a much stronger response than I expected.

After the attack, while the paladins were leaving for the others, one of them put pressure on my ice and dragged me down to the dungeons at the bottom of the palace. When I reached the dungeons, I had a hard fall and my ice shield shattered.

As I tried to get up, the paladin who dragged me down appeared in front of me. He was fast and somehow appeared as a result of grains of sand coming together. I had never encountered such a trait before and it was quite obvious that he was not of my lineage. I started thinking about the mutants my friends had mentioned as enemies. Maybe the paladin was a mutant.

Either way, the enemy wouldn't let me leave without a fight. He didn't have a weapon but wore a different helmet than the other paladins. Thinking that attacking first would give me an advantage, I froze my hand and punched his chest.

But to my surprise, he turned his abdomen into grains of sand, creating a gap. My fist passed through without causing any damage. "I didn't expect this," I said.

The paladin swung his fist at me. I tried to block it with my arm but when it made contact, it turned into grains of sand and distracted me. The paladin used his other arm to deliver a hard blow to my stomach.

I quickly brought my other arm to my stomach and tried to create an ice shield, but the punch was so hard that it shattered the ice and I felt the blow. The paladin reunited his other arm with the grains of sand and made a surprise attack. The attack was so fast that I didn't even realize where it was coming from.

The impact sent me flying into the prison bars of the dungeons. I hit my back hard and bent a few of the bars. The paladin was much stronger than I expected, but his attacks helped me understand his power. His body was made of sand and he could break apart and reform at will. I have to admit that the power he used was pretty cool, but I didn't know what tactics to use to stop him.

In the short time that passed, I was able to block their attacks with my ice, but I had a feeling that this would not last long. The enemy could make a sudden attack at any moment.

Whenever I tried to fight back, the enemy used his sand power to break my attacks and maintain his integrity. My fists and ice power couldn't keep up with his speed. In response, I grabbed my hammer to increase the force of my attacks and continued to strike the enemy with it. As I swung my hammer towards the enemy's head, he dodged it by sandblasting his head and then punched me hard in the chest with his half-finished body. Although it was painful, I withstood the blow and swung my hammer again at the remaining body of the paladin who was nearby. The paladin almost disappeared from my sight as he sandblasted his whole body against the hammer.

Before I could react, the paladin appeared to my left and threw a punch. I stepped back, narrowly avoiding the blow, but the paladin wasn't done yet. He swung another punch, but this time I used my ice power to create a strong barrier in front of me, which I thought could withstand the punch. However, the paladin shattered the barrier with a single blow. Without giving him the chance to make another strong attack, I lifted my hammer and swung it down towards him. As the paladin saw the hammer coming towards him, he dodged the blow by turning himself into the sand.

As I thought about where the enemy might come from, I scanned my surroundings. Suddenly, the sand around me coalesced and the paladin appeared, kicking me over my hammer. Once again I was caught off guard.

The kick sent me sprawling and I dropped my hammer as I hit the ground. The paladin jumped into the air and prepared to strike me from above.

Thinking quickly, I used my ice power to cover myself in a layer of ice and rolled toward my hammer. The paladin shattered the ice with another kick, but I managed to swing my hammer at him.

Despite my efforts, the paladin managed to dodge my attack using his sand power. Undeterred, I pulled a blunt-tipped icicle from the ground and resumed my assault.

Although my attacks failed to land, the paladin continued to close in on me. Despite the danger, I had a plan in mind and waited for the right moment.

As the sovalye's fist came towards me from the left, I surprised him by grabbing his arm and holding him in place. Though he saw it as a mistake, I quickly froze him in place with the ice from the ground. I thought if I froze him, he'd be immobilized.

The effort left me breathless, but I managed to freeze him completely. I thought the battle was over, but it was too early to rejoice. I could see with my own eyes that the enemy in the ice was trying to move.

The ice began to crack and soon shattered completely, revealing the paladin standing before me as if nothing had happened. I didn't know how he did it, but it was clear that the fight was far from over.

Fighting against such an enemy required a lot of effort and strategy. If I didn't find a loophole, it would be impossible to finish this war. I had to do my best.

Before our battle started again, I was wrapping my arms in ice, blowing the cold breath out of my mouth.
