New Restart

As we are crying, someone approaching us quietly from behind.

“Yume is that you?” ask that person that I believe is man.

“Oni-chan?”

“Yes, and what are you doing here? By the way, who is that woman with you?”

I stand up try to introduce myself.

“My name is Nakamura Yuka. I think you know me.”

“R-really?! What are you doing here Nakamura-san?”

Then, I explain everything to him what I am doing here and how I found Yume-chan. When I said I want to go home, Yume-chan ask me to have a dinner with them. So, that’s how now I have dinner with them.

“Wait for a minute! I will cook something simple,” said Yume-chan’s brother.

“Alright, oni-chan!” reply Yume-chan.

After fifteen minutes, I can smell something that so delicious.

“Here is chicken curry! I hope everyone will enjoying it!”

I think this is one of the dishes that suit my taste. Especially, when I eat it with a serving of rice. After finish eating, I volunteer myself to wash the plates and ask Yume-chan and his brother to rest at living room. Five minutes later, when I come to living room, I see that Yume-chan already fall asleep on the sofa.

“She so tired today. Maybe because crying so much earlier,” said Yume-chan’s brother.

I almost forgot! I need to ask him about my song.

“Sorry to disturb, but can I ask you something?” I need to know how some people know my old song.

“Let’s talk outside. We can sit on the bench in front of my house. We can talk there without disturbing Yume.”

So, we go outside and sit on the bench.

“I don’t know the view from here is so beautiful! This house also looks big to me. Are you rich? Sorry for my childish questions.”

“It’s alright. My dad was a businessman. My mom was a primary school teacher. With the money they collected, they build this house. We are living a quite simple live and I don’t think we are rich. Right, I almost forget to introduce myself! My name is Mirai Akio. Nice to meet you again, Nakamura-san!”

Nice to meet you again?

I try to confirm with him, “Did we have met before? I thought this is our first time to meet with each other?”

“I know you will forget. We are classmates when we in third year in high school. Do you remember there were a boy who look chubby with weird hairstyle? That was me!”

“Really?! How do you change your appearance? Now, you look like a different person! I think you look cooler!”

I still remember when he always stays behind after school alone. I don’t know if I had talk with him or not that time. Now, I almost can’t recognize him. His body look a bit slim, and his hairstyle look neat.

“Thanks for that compliment! So, what is it that you want to ask?”

“Mirai-san, can I know how you know my old songs? But I think you know almost all my song when we were in high school.”

“Yes, I know all your songs! The truth is I am your fan since you start to sing when we in second year in high school. I have recorded all your performances and I have uploaded some of them on Whotube.”

Finally, I know why some people know all my old song.

“But how there are not many people know the song?”

“One week after I upload the video, Takashi sensei asked me to take down all the video from Whotube. He said this to avoid unnecessary attention toward you,” said Mirai-san.

I think Takashi sensei want to protect my privacy especially about me and dad. The public still don’t know about dad’s family. Dad don’t reveal about our family publicly. He clearly draws a clear line between family and his career. By doing this he can focus on music. Though, I still don’t know how Takashi sensei know my dad.

“Nakamura-san, sorry but can I ask what are you doing at that dumping ground earlier? I think this place are quite far from town,” ask Mirai-san.

“The truth is I just want to take fresh air for a while. You know about what happen to me right? With controversy about my dating relationship and my solo debut, it’s hard to sing while thinking about them. I feel so stress that I think this is over for me until I heard your sister’s voice. When I look at her, it reminds me when I start singing on the stage before.”

Mirai-san then look at the sky while saying, “Do you want to know something? For this one year, I try to divide my time with studying, part time job and take care of my sister. My sister can’t go school normally as I worry about her safety. So, I make the decision that I will teach her every weekend at home instead. My mom also taught her personally and by doing this mom can monitor Yume herself at home. After I graduate, I will get the job and hire the teacher that can teach Yume properly at home. The money I had collected now were use for electric bill, water bill, food supplies and Yume.”

“How about you, Mirai-san? Don’t you want to buy something for yourself?”

“As long as Yume is happy, I am fine with anything. I just want she to always smiling.”

Hearing that, I feel he is really a good brother. No wonder Yume-chan look so happy when she sang earlier.

“This is only my opinion, but I think its quite dangerous for her to spend time alone especially dumping ground earlier. We don’t know what will happen to her when nobody is watching her.”

“I have thought about that also before. I have told her to not go outside several times before, but I guess she still want to go outside. I don’t have any relatives or friend that I can ask to take care of her when I are not home as they are busy with their work and study.”

Suddenly, this thought come to my mind.

“How about I take care of her when you are not home?”

“W-wait!? You are famous celebrity, right? How can I ask you to take care of my sister?” he said while look surprise at what I said to him just now.

“Now, I am not celebrity. I will retire from this industry. And of course, I will do this for free. We are former classmates, right?”

“Really!? I appreciate your help but hearing that you are retire from singing now make me bit sad.”

“Don’t worry! If you want me to sing for you, I will sing anytime! So, about Yume-chan, can I bring her to my house?”

“Sure! I think Yume will feel so happy about that! Tomorrow is Saturday and I don’t have work or class. So, I will be with Yume. I don’t know when I will busy so I will give you my phone number.”

After exchanging phone number with each other, I look at my watch and its already show ten o clock now.

“I think I will go home for today. Thank you for the dinner! If you need anything, you can call me anytime!”

“Alright! Thank you also for earlier. I think Yume are so happy meet with you today. And for what you said about retire from singing, I think maybe its too earlier for you to stop. This is your life, and you should do what you want to make you feel happy. Don’t think too much about negative and focus on to become more positive. Just like your old self. Your presence on the stage that time were impactful at least for me.”

His word makes me so happy.

“Thanks for that.”

“You are welcome!”

“Goodbye, Mirai-san. See you again.”

“Goodbye, Nakamura-san!”

As I walk away from Mirai-san’s house, his word still on my mind. Should I be really stop now? Or get up again? But what if it went wrong again this time? Right, as long I do what make me feel happy, I will be fine. I don’t want to disappoint other people again after this and I will prove that I am the best.
