Chapter 9

Wren was talking to her mom at the breakfast table. Mister Xu was there along with Theo and Saul. Jay was late. 

"Magnus, Theo and Saul!," her mom suddenly said. 

They froze in their places. Usually, Wren's mom would never invite Theo and Saul to the breakfast table but today was a bit different. 

"You let me down. I should fire you!," she said. 

"How, ma'am? How have we let you down?!," Mr. Xu asked. 

"Magnus, it all began when Wren met that stalker at the museum. You didn't take notice of him. Then, at the cafe, he probably talked to her. You weren't there, then, too. Care to explain?," she said. 

"I'm very sorry, madam! I was outside at both times. I didn't know what was happening inside. I'm really sorry for my actions! Forgive me!," Mr. Xu said. 

"But, you were really badass when you shot him in Wren's room the other day. So, you'll pass for now," she said. 

"Thank you, madam. I'm ever grateful!," Mr. Xu said with a smile on his face. 

"Now, you two, your lazy asses work slow. Don't they?," she said, looking at Theo and Saul. 

"I'm sorry, ma'am!," Theo said. 

"I'm sorry, too!," Saul said. 

"I wonder how the hell did that man enter the house when you were outside," she said. 

"Ma'am, actually, I was on a call so I didn't notice at all. I'm sorry!," Saul said. 

"Plus, he entered from the back door. So, I'm really sorry to not take notice, too. Forgive me!," Theo said, bowing his head. 

"Forgive me, madam!," Saul said, bowing his head, too. 

"Ah, you're begging me so I'll definitely do that. But, only because you proved yourself to be useful. You guys showed up in action, too. So, you're still gonna work for us," she said with a smile. 

"Thank you!," both of them said, raising their heads. 

Wren started laughing now. 

"Oh my God, you guys are so cute when you are babbling sorrys to mom. But really, I'm very thankful you're all gonna be here. I'm thankful to you, Mr. Xu, Mr. Kwan and Mr. Kang! Please always work with this energy because I need you guys. Thank you!," Wren said, smiling. 

They smiled at her. Jay was here now. He sat down with Wren. 

"Good morning, everyone!," he said. 

They all smiled at him. 

"Mr. Min called me last night. He told me he got info about miss Park Jane," Jay said. 

"What?!," all of them said in unison. 

"She is the stalker's love interest, right?," Theo asked. 

"Yes, Mr. Kang, she is. She told Mr. Min that she wanted to see him one last time," Jay said. 

"One last time?! Is she dying?!," Saul asked. 

"She's not dying. She's getting married to Harry and they're gonna move to London," he answered. 

"She really wants him to forgive her?," Wren asked. 

"Yeah, but, I don't think he will. He really hates her," Jay said. 

"But, it might change if it's actually her. And if you actually love someone, you would forgive them no matter what. After all, love is love. It conquers all!," Wren's mom said. 

Everyone's eyes widened. 

"Mom, are you sick?!," Wren asked. 

"What? Oh no, of course not. It's the truth. It's what your father told me," she said. 

"Wow!," Wren said, shocked. 

"So, you're saying that she feels guilty?," Mr. Xu then asked. 

"Absolutely! She cried when she was on the phone with Mr. Min. I think she really does feel bad," Jay said. 

"I wanna see her," Wren suddenly said. 

"What?!," everyone asked, shocked. 

"Yes, after all, Elvis thinks that I'm Jane so I should tell her what he's like now. He's very hostile. I can't let him hurt her!," Wren said. 

"Yeah, well, she already knows that he's hostile," Jay said with an awkward smile. 

"What?!," Wren asked. 

"It's kinda private. I can't leak a patient's personal information. But, since it's you guys, so I guess it's ok," Jay said. 

He took a bite of his pancakes. 

"See, Elvis' parents are actually responsible for all of this. Jane is not even someone who's actually bad," Jay said. 

"What?!," Wren asked. 

"God! Ok, so, when he was a kid, his parents didn't treat him well. They always wanted him to study and study even more. He never did anything fun. But, then he started writing flows for rappers and then ran away from home. He started underground rapping later and then someone helped him by giving him a chance to produce some real music. Then, he met Jane. 

He was very violent and aggressive all the time and they later kicked him out. He started his own studio later. Jane met him there again. But turns out, he had forgotten all about her from earlier," Jay said. 

"Something wrong with his brain?," Theo asked. 

"Kind of. He later became very angry whenever she couldn't show up somewhere due to her schedule and he even broke her car into pieces once," Jay answered. 

"Damn!," Saul said. 

"She and him went on a trip to London. She thought it'd refresh his mind and she got him a therapis: Harry," Jay said. 

"Oh!," everyone said. 

Jay sipped his tea. 

"Elvis thought Harry was the one Jane loved. So, he followed him to his house one day and tried to kill him by suffocating him. But it didn't work. 

Then, one day, Jane was working in the kitchen and he tried to choke her so she hit him on the head to protect herself. Then, she took him to Milan from London and left him at the hospital his cousin worked at. I had to be involved in his case, too. But I really don't know if brain surgery will work or not," Jay said. 

"So why are the therapist and Jane getting married now? I mean, what is their relation?," Saul asked. 

"Apparently, she only trusts him now and he has a soft spot in his heart for her, too. That's why," Jay said. 

Suddenly, Jay's phone ringed. 

"Yes, I'm coming. What? Bring Wren? Jane wants to see her? Ok, yes. The therapist's there, too? Ok, yes. Yeah, I'm coming! Yes, see you there," he said as he talked to someone over the phone. 

"Let's go," he said to Wren.
