Chapter 10:

Chapter 10

Fake Eyes

Wren and Jay left. Mr. Min was already at the cafe with Jane and Harry.

"Good morning! I'm Wren Kim," she said.

She shook hands with them.

"Hello, miss Kim! I'm Park Jane. It's great to see you," Jane said.

She was a short woman with tanned skin. She had long silvery hair. Her most beautiful features were her big eyes and lips.

"I'm Harry. Nice to meet you," the man sitting next to Park Jane said.

He was a handsome man with blonde hair and mesmerizing blue eyes. He was tall and was dressed in a blue shirt and beige colored pants.

They started drinking coffee.

"Mr. Kingsley, miss Park, please tell them what you told me," Mr. Min said.

"Yes, certainly! Harry?," Jane said, looking at Harry.

"Yes. Mr. Paavalo, miss Kim, we're really sorry for all the trouble Mr. Elvis Min has caused you! We never thought this would happen!," Harry said.

"It's not your fault! Don't apologize!," Wren said.

"I heard that he tried to kill you. I'm really sorry that he thought you were me!," Jane said.

"When Jane found me and told me about him, I was really interested in helping him with his anxiety. But later he got the wrong idea. He stopped coming to his sessions with me.

When he tried to suffocate me to death at my house, I tried my best to confront him about it during a session to which Jane had forced him to come to. But he broke his coffee mug and injured his hand while doing that.

That is when I told Jane to take him to Milan to Mr. Min. I knew him for a long time as I was used to visiting Milan to see my sister who lived there. I told him I wanted him to look at this patient that was gonna come to Milan.

And, fortunately, Mr. Min was his cousin and the new surroundings helped him change a lot! But, I don't know what's wrong with him now," Harry explained.

"The problem is that ever since he came back to Korea, his memories, the bad ones, where he thinks that miss Park was not happy with the things he did for her here in Korea, they're back," Mr. Min said.

"Will something change if we send him back to Milan or London?," Wren asked.

"Nothing will change! To him, Milan is hell because he was in a mental hospital there. As for London, his memories of Mr. Kingsley are very strong. They'll force him to do bad things if we send him there. He might end up killing someone," Mr. Min said.

"Can you please explain why he tried to kill miss Kim?," Jane said.

"Miss Park, your first meeting with my cousin was very unusual. Do you remember it?," Mr. Min asked her.

"Yes, I do. I argued with him at a studio when he didn't like the beat I wanted to sing a song over. I met him at a cafe later," she answered.

"You can say that history's trying to repeat itself. In fact, it already has! Elvis met miss Kim when they first argued at the museum and later, they met at a cafe. I think he didn't actually think of miss Kim as herself for even a minute!  His mind told him that she was Jane. That would be the reason why he met miss Kim later at the cafe," Mr. Min said.

"What do you mean?," Jay asked.

"He knew miss Kim would be at the cafe!  He remembered about mister Xu and also about the car that he drove with miss Kim inside it. His mind always thought that miss Kim was miss Jane and the fact that miss Kim didn't know who he was led him to set up a plan!," Mr. Min said. "Miss Jane, you once met him at the hospital in Milan with me and Mr. Kingsley. Right?."

"Yes, I did," she answered.

"He did all of what he did just so miss Kim, who is miss Park in his eyes, could remember him! But she didn't.

That time when I asked miss Kim to pretend she was Jane, that was when his true nature came out! He is very hostile and now I can understand why he didn't wanna let go of miss Park at all costs!," Mr. Min said.

"W-why?," Jane asked.

"Because he loved you, miss Park! He had extreme anxiety and he could never say it to you because he always thought you wouldn't accept his love. He said he'd kill you so many times that you thought he'd actually kill you any minute if you didn't keep your guard up around him. But that was his way of saying he loved you!," Mr. Min said.

Jane blushed. But it was obvious from her face that she felt guilty.

"I'm so stupid! How could I ever do that to him when he loved me?! This is why I always thought there was something unspoken between us! Now, I know! Ah, I'm so sorry!," Jane said as she buried her head in her hands.

"It's ok. It's not your fault, Jane," Harry said to her.

"Can we see him?," he asked Mr. Min.

"Unfortunately, you can't! He said he didn't wanted to see anyone anymore because he said he was tired," he answered.

"Of what?," Wren asked.

"Of life, miss Kim," Mr. Min answered.

"I have a feeling that he's not gonna wake up tomorrow," Mr. Min said.

Mr. Min then got up from his chair. Jay and Wren got up, too.

"Thank you, mister Kingsley and miss Park for meeting us. And thank you, miss Kim and doctor Paavalo. You guys were an amazing help to me!," Mr. Min said.

"Thank you! It was great to talk to you," Harry said.

"It was my pleasure. I wish you luck and happiness on your journey of marriage. God bless!," Mr. Min said.

Elvis Min died on Sunday morning at 9:45am. The nurse who was in his room earlier said that when she came in to check up on him, he was sleeping peacefully but was not breathing.

His funeral was attended by his parents, his cousin, who was also his psychiatrist, Jay Paavalo, a neurologist, Jane Park, his ex girlfriend, Harry Kingsley, his ex girlfriend's fiance, Wren Kim, the girl he had mistaken for his ex, and staff from his studio.

Elvis Min's funeral was quiet and peaceful. He was buried near the lake which ran beside the cemetery. The only weeping woman was his mother, who cried for her son, who had never felt that he was loved by his parents.

Elvis Min had fake eyes and they only longed to see the love of his life, Jane Park.
